El Dicho Coffee and Antojitos

We checked this cute coffee house out while visiting Tahoe and it quickly became our favorite. The coffee is delicious, and have hands down the best pastry items I’ve ever had! The croissants and danishes are SO good! All made from scratch and are so flavorful and fluffy! The owner and her daughters are absolutely delightful. If visiting Tahoe-do yourself a favor and go check this place out-you will not be disappointed!

Giant breakfast burritos dont exist in mn! Had to stop in both days for both burritos!

This is my favorite breakfast/brunch spot in South Lake. First started coming the summer of 2024. Breakfast burritos, sandwiches, bagels, loaded toast, baked goods, coffees, teas, smoothies, milkshakes. The bacon breakfast burritos is my go to and the green salsa that comes with it is so flavorful! Not to mention the burrito is huge. The owner is wonderful and the employees are so welcoming. Great atmosphere. Easy to sit and have a meal and hold a conversation with soft music playing in the background. There’s a nice little area to sit outside (sometimes I bring my dog) and seating inside. If you haven’t tried this spot yet, definitely give it a chance and support local. Definitely a gem in south lake! Thank you El Dicho!

SO CUTE - I love personal and locally owned coffee shops with their own atmosphere. This is a perfect stop for anyone wanting a cozy chill treat in Lake Tahoe • SPANISH FRIENDLY ?? • modern but mountain-y cafe vibes. Cashier was very friendly, and there is indoor and outdoor seating. They have menus on a big screen behind the register but paper menus you can read closer as well —

Parking: On the left hand side of the cafe there is a drive in that is not paved you can park right next to the little shop - otherwise there is free marked parking on the side of the road if you turn on the right hand corner

This place use to be good when they first opened up. The antojitos use to be a good portion for a good price. Now I’ve gone twice not to long ago and they don’t have mango. I ordered tostilocos and they came with no mango and we weren’t even told this. I understand that ingredients like this might be expensive but if you don’t carry it change it on the menu especially because it seems like the menu items have increased in price. Seems like they are increasing pricing and getting a little cheap. Also it took a while to get the order.

Terrible customer service. The people acted like we weren’t even there. Waited over a half an hour for a cup of coffee. The lady acted like she didn’t care, even made it sound like it was my fault. Had a little girl who couldn’t be more than 8 years old take our order. They should probably actually pay attention to their customers.

Stayed down the street and decided to give this cafe a try!
We LOVED THE COFFEE. The best we have had in awhile. The fresh juice was amazing, and the chorizo breakfast burrito was perfect!
Can’t wait to go back ♥️
