While visiting Lake Tahoe, we went to Fallen Leaf Lake. Fallen Leaf Lake is a mountain lake located at 6377 ft above sea level. The road towards the lake is just one way road and not developed enough. We stopped at the Fallen Leaf Lake Store. There is a parking lot in front of the store and there is marina. We were amazed to see the blue lake surrounded by the mountains atop with snow.If you’re a water person, rent a paddleboat, kayak, or a stand-up paddleboard and get out on the water! You can also go for fishing here. There are some hiking trails that you can explore. During winter the road are closed.

Fallen Leaf Lake Store is a great place to enjoy your coffee and food while watching an amazing scenic view. Their coffee and food is not the best, however the scenic view and atmosphere makes it delicious. Staff were friendly.

We used boating service that is offered by the staff who seemed to be associated with this store. They were very professional and helpful. The general ambiance of the store was very friendly.By the way, the access to the Fallen Leaf lake is through a road, which gets very bumpy and very narrow so much so that it practically can be used by one vehicle at a time. Therefore access to this store is rather difficult. This lake has either private access or has a marina and doesn't have any public beach for swimming!

Place is under new ownership. Kayas Rentals is separate from the souvenir shop and the lodge. They have paddleboards for rent now along with kayaks and boats. Prices have increased from the past couple

Food is crazy prices, just a plain burger is $17 with no fries or drink. Burger is very ordinary, any fast food place makes a better one.

Busy end of a trail next to Lake Tahoe. Be sure you know how to drive a bumpy curly road. It is kept that way for a reason... But the view and the atmosphere is heavenly. Food is nothing special and expensive which you should expect at such an outpost. I think idyllic is the word.

Amazing view. Friendly staff. Good snack bar/kitchen. $17 for a cheeseburger is steep, but other prices felt about what I expect. Some store prices were pretty reasonable.

This store has changed hands. The girl at the counter was friendly and made good coffee. Three's the usual touristy stuff available.
