Wanted to try something new in Tahoe . Service was very slow and had to ask the waitress two or 3 times for same thing like a napkin and silverware. The food was ok . My husband had the ribs he said they were ok . I had the island plate with Hawaiian bbq chicken it was literally a piece of chicken with some sweet and spicy sauce on it . Was ok . Liked the Mac salad it was good . The rice that came with my chicken was underdone and had that sauce they put on my chicken all over it not good ! I did actually like the tri fries the best thing I had ! The inside reminded me of a cafeteria. Do not recommend and will not be going back

Excellent food and service. I've been here a lot; it's my go-to food in SLT. I love the Jamaican Jerk with tofu, so I get it every time I go. I crave this dish at home in Reno often. It's spicy! I tried the ribs, only a few bites, but they were fire! They also have Pliny the Elder on tap. :-) Service is good. Ambiance is awesome, especially when you sit by the fishies.

Went there based on existent Yelp reviews. Just "Mehhh" for this very first visit.First, it's located in a structure ( they call it mall but it's just really some metal and glass) shared with other businesses. We sat at the high table, next to the fish tank, which was the highlight of the evening ( my 2 little boys loved starring at the tank). We had a Noodle Soup with Portobello mushrooms ( 6/10) = the broth really doesn't`t hit the high note, it`s ginger based), a Teriaky Veggies with Fries Tofu and Spicy sauce + peanut sauce on a bed of vegetables and rice ( 3/10 = the rice was almost raw, just mushy on the bottom of the plate ,the veggies were just OK and the tofu...mehhh...no season whatsoever), a kids`s pasta plate ( 3/10 = linguini with butter and parmesan cheese on top, very blend even for my always pasta eater little guy). 2nd, the wait time was...loooong. We waited no less than 20 min from the time we ordered and the place want busy at all. On the bright side, the customer service is great, servers are nice, freindly and willing to help ( ours may have been a little high that night, he felt like walking on clouds ...lol).Also,parking is right up-front.Bottom line, even for S.Lake Tahoe, this spot is not one that I would consider again anytime soon, if ever.

Don’t go here expecting Hawaiian food. Mac salad was brown and in a soup form. Go to the pho place across instead.

Been going for a long time. The service is the absolute worst. Disinterested kids that don't know the service industry. Won't be going back. Kind of sad since it was my favorite restaurant in SLT for many years for its food and friendly service.

After 25 years it's time to say aloha to Freshies. But like the goodbye kind. And with a middle finger instead of a wave. Freshies goodbye present to me was a violent... and I mean VIOLENT... case of food poisoning. I got to experience about 10 hours of every large orifice evacuating every last piece of Freshies ribs and salad... and then refusing to stop even when there was no more. My body literally levitating with every convulsion. The smell... I'll never be able to forget the smell. All this after ridiculous prices for the poor quality of the food... on the way in the ribs were tough like shoe leather... $1-$2 up charges for the "good" sides like tri-fries... all an obvious signal that they are not doing well financially. And so they sacrificed the food prep... likely E-coli on the salad although perhaps bacteria laden ribs. Freshies has achieved janky status, and never shall I return. I suggest you do not even try.

The food is just stunningly good, like "wow" good. The vegan loaf ranks among the tastiest thing that I've had in Lake Tahoe. However, the atmosphere is... you go there for the food, and the service is so bad it feels like it is intentional or something. Don't overlook the need to have a key for the bathroom for some inexplicable reason. Despite all that, we went back to try more dishes because it's just stellar. My girlfriend reported that the kombucha was also just great so it seems the chef has exquisite taste and the manager is just phoning it in. I'd go back next year, but adopt a zen attitude first

Has this place been sold again? Something's a miss here. Been coming for years. My favorite fried shrimp tacos had a sauce that tasted like mustard. Couldn't taste chipotle. The service was pretty bad. Except for one girl who was on it, the young kid was a disinterested and not a particularly aware server. Prices are the same, but the food and service are not. Mostly I enjoyed my meal, but this is definitely NOT the Freshies I used to know and love.

Great spot that serves gluten free dishes! Delicious food and fantastic service in a casual environment. Highly recommend the Crunchy Salad and a couple of their taco's.

A comfort food MUST. So many delicious gluten free options! My faves are the coconut prawns. Ribs. And seared ahi plate. Fresh on tap kombucha too!

Came here on Valentines as they did a cross promotion with Tahoe Rising Yoga Studio. I was recommended the Tempeh Tacos and tried the Blackened style upon our server's suggestion. The flavors were great (had a little kick!) and everything was fresh and well prepared. There wasn't a ton on the menu I'd want to try, but definitely a good spot for vegan and omnivore options alike!

We liked it a lot! The food was very delicious, the prices quite affordable and very good service! If you go order the Jambalaya Salad ???

Love love love this place. It is a cute family operated restaurant that is producing good honest tasting fresh food. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Unbelievable good value and for me basically everything is gluten free it’s perfect. Give this place a try you will be happy you did. They seem to do a lot of takeout so if your staying in and don’t feel like cooking it’s perfect ???
