This place is so cozy, even in the Summer when we visited. I love a beerhaus vibe and the food and drinks matched it. HUGE beer menu, but also have cocktails, cider and wine. Got the pretzel, sauerbraten, and Apple strudel and they were delicious and my favorite kind of comfort food.
Also Steven was our waiter and was great. I found all the staff to be friendly and helpful, which is hard to find these days. Can’t wait to come back!

My brother in law saw on reddit that this place was a must try for the South lake Tahoe area. My family of 7 arrived 1.5hrs before closing and the place was packed. The host announced that they were not going to be taking any names for seating until he got the wait-list figured out and didn't have an ETA for us. My siblings and I ended up sitting at the bar and enjoying some nice drinks to celebrate my brothers twenty first birthday. 30 minutes goes by and we eventually get table to sit at with the whole family. Our waiter was very attentive and informative. We appreciated the vibe of the restraunt, as it was nothing like the other dining opportunities near by. On to the food, this was a German restaurant and we were excited to try something new. We asked the our waiter a hundred questions about the menu and he very happily responded to each one with a smile and enthusiasm. My wife and I shared the cauliflower appetizer and man was that so good. The creamyness and seasoning of it was so enjoyable. For the main course, many of us ordered sausages we hadn't tried before and everyone was in agreement that this was definitely worth the wait. The staff were very generous to bring my brother a piece of apple strudel in honor of his birthday. The rest of us ordered carrot cake and the black forest cake which were the cherry on top of ou visit to the Himmel Haus. I would definitely come back and try the schnitzel during my next visit to the area.

Great wieners ! Love the sausage platter and light beer on tap!
This was a very nice restaurant. The server was friendly and checked on us periodically throughout the meal. We each got big meals and desserts, and still totaled out around $50 per person. It was warm and pleasent in the restaurant, and I would come again.

We LOVED our dinner at Himmel Haus! The authentic German beer selection is phenomenal along with the food. Our favorites included the kaze spatzle and sausage platter for food and Ayinger Celebrator and Urweisse for beer. The ambience and staff are wonderful as well. We definitely look forward to visiting again during our next trip to Lake Tahoe!

So I unfortunately did not get pictures of the food because as soon I tried it i was engulfed in the aroma. Everything was rich in flavor we had a little of everything and you cannot go wrong. The beef marinated in wine for 7 days the pork Switzal with the jager sauce absolutely amazing. If you're in tahoe you have to stop by here.

ordered their Marinated beef. I should have sent it back, but I never do. Regret- tasted like it was starting to spoil, it was the most awful meal I've had in a long time. Ate half , as I was hungry, YEP. Diarrhea with in 4 hours. Husband took 1 taste and did not want to share. He did not like it. Should have been my . clue. $38 per person

Food was DELICIOUS! Service was outstanding. We sat outside & the views from the Bier Garden area are absolutely beautiful. They even had a non-alcoholic German beer that will satisfy any beer drinkers taste buds. I was pleasantly surprised by the non-alcoholic Erdinger!

This was our first visit to Lake Tahoe, and unfortunately, our experience at this restaurant was very disappointing. The food was not worth the price, and the service was extremely poor. We were asked to wait to be seated, even though other guests who arrived after us were seated right away. It felt like we were being treated differently, possibly due to our race. It took over 10 minutes for someone to take our order, and we never received a refill of water. When we asked for the check, no one brought it for another 20 minutes, and I eventually had to go inside to request it myself. As people of color, we felt unwelcome here. I would not recommend this place to anyone, especially those from diverse backgrounds.

Great food and good beer! Perfect spot after a long hike or a day skiing. I had the sausage platter and it hit the spot.
