I moved to Tahoe in 2003 and this was my absolute favorite place to eat. We moved to gardnerville 8 years ago and I really miss eating there, I wish they would open a restaraunt here. The owner was super nice and remembered his customers and treated them like friends.

Jaliscos is a Mexican restaurant that offers a relaxed atmosphere and authentic Mexican-style dishes. The enchiladas with Asada and Birria are popular among customers, and the tacos, especially al pastor and carnitas, are highly praised. The tacos come with just the meat, allowing diners to add toppings from the salsa bar, which includes onions, radishes, and lime. The restaurant features quick service and reasonable prices, making it a good spot for a quick lunch. The asada super burrito is notably large and delicious, offering great value. While the seafood fajitas, fish tacos, and shrimp ceviche are cooked well and authentic, some find the prices slightly higher than expected. The tacos are described as very authentic and reminiscent of a trip to Mexico, with some customers feeling the meat can be a bit dry but still tasty. The pozole is a must-try, and adding smoky chipotle hot sauce can give it an extra kick. Overall, Jaliscos is praised for its friendly staff, good food, and simple, authentic Mexican atmosphere. The restaurant is now open on Mondays as well.
