Kalani's

The food is pricey for the portion sizes. We had the Sea Bass & the poke nachos. Sea bass was decent but the poke tuna was low grade or felt like scraps that they cover with sauce to disguise it...It's unfortunate, because it's been a staple for us every summer the past 15 years! Probaly won't go back again.

Food is really good and the location is lovely, which brought us here twice in a week. But service in each visit was off. The first dinner we ate early midweek. The place was deserted, yet the waiter rushed us out - I think we were there like 38 minutes total before the bill arrived, for two entrees plus two drinks. Second meal for four people we ordered drinks, appetizers, mains, and dessert. It took over two hours that time. The long visit would not have been a big deal except that 50ish minutes elapsed between appetizers and mains, and nobody refilled our water glasses or asked if we wanted another drink round during that long wait. Silverware was removed with finished appetizer plates but not replaced for everyone, causing further delays when mains finally appeared. And then two out of three deserts arrived and were fully eaten without the final one arriving yet. We flagged the waitress down and asked for the missing dessert to be removed from the bill so we could go. The waitress did not apologize for the mismatched delivery times of the desserts. A $350 meal — for four people ought to have better service than this.

Super restaurant in the heart of Heavenly Village so a great location when visiting South Lake Tahoe. Good choice of food and New York steak was superb. Nice atmosphere and good choice of drinks, would definitely recommend this place

We were referred by the concierge at Marriotts Timber Lodge as an excellent fresh seafood restaurant and we were not disappointed. We had tuna sushi, a mixed greens salad and entrees including fresh seafood. The reasons for 4 rather than 5 stars are: 1. The seats were low vs table height; the server was delayed 10 minutes before taking our order and again bringing our wine; and when I ordered a more expensive second glass of chardonnay it came ice cold. I tried to warm it in my hands unsuccessfully and our server made some excuse related to the room's air conditioning. Thus no 5th star.

My wife and I had a reservation at Kalanis on a Friday night. We were seated immediately upon arrival. It took a while before a server arrived. We did not have a wine list. We asked an employee standing around for a wine list. He said the waiter will provide it. We eventually got a wine list. We ordered a bottle of Chardonnay (which was very good), a house salad, the mixed seafood and the shrimp scampi. Instead of the house salad a different salad was served (that we returned). Food was very good, service (Raul) attentive and friendly. The wrong salad also showed up on the bill. It was corrected quickly. Overall we had a very good dinner despite a few hiccups.

Great food! The sushi was excellent. The Hawaiian roll was very hot but good. We had the seafood platter and it was outstanding. We will go again soon.

The food was outstanding and everything came out well and on time, the only issue we had was our server. They were very un inviting and simply just wanted to turn and burn us. Not asking us anything but our Order and throwing our dessert menus at us. We had to talk with someone else about desserts and coffee and felt very un welcomed.

Our experience at Kalani's was so amazing that We decided to go back a second night of our stay in Tahoe.

Misty was great! She treated us kindly for our anniversary and all of the food came out at a perfect timing!

The food and service were outstanding. I had the Miso-Yaki Chilean Sea Bass and my wife had the Rib Eye Steak. Both meals were excellent.

Usually amazing. Service just ok this time plus they seem to have changed the sea bass recipe and not in a good way. Salmon and halibut still great.
