Breakfast burrito was flavorless, in the vein of the best jokes about how white people can’t season (I am white btw). The smoothie was meh. The only good food option was the drip coffee for two bucks.
The vibe is good though — is you prefer vibes over food

We had never been to Tahoe. Friends from Auburn treated us to a grand tour of the area. One of the best stops in two days was for brunch at the Keys Cafe. It is a little hard to find as it is off on a side street, but Google maps got us there.
Although busy preparing drinks for her patrons, the owner (pictured) was gracious, patient, and accommodating. Substitutions and special requests were no big deal.
We sat outside on a most pleasant "South Lake" morning - I understand they have their share of those there in mid-August.
The Cafe's vibe is just what you would expect inside and out, the decor - the same.
So what about the food? We had BLTs (on marbled rye), a Breakfast Sando, and (drumroll, please) the Blueberry Bowl. Since it is not practical to travel 2,100 miles for this delicacy on a daily basis, I asked for the recipe and that, too, was shared with a smile. What a fantastic place in a fantastic place!!!

Stopped by for breakfast and this little shack didn’t disappoint! Breakfast burrito was perfect portion to split between two adults. The salsa was also so yummy. The açaí bowls were perfectly sweet and shareable! Coffee was a perfect pick me up!
Fun games! Chalk board to write on! Great staff! Be fueled before your day in Lake Tahoe!

One of my go to favs when I’m in the area. Today I enjoyed an iced Purple Haze (vanilla chai & lavender) with an Avo Bagel. Perfect pairing! Light bite before jumping back on the freeway. The staff is always super friendly and the vibe is very Tahoe.

Came for some coffee and was not even greeted by the rude baristas working. No one asked us if we were ready to order while we looked at the menu. We didn’t see the register as it was on the other side so started telling a girl what we want and with attitude, she told us to come where she was. Coffees were pretty solid. Maybe a bit on the sweeter side. A bit syrup heavy. The menu has amazing choices and I would still come back for the coffee but don’t appreciate the side eye from the girls and heard them talking about us. When we asked for straws, they were thrown towards us. It’s like us asking ruined their day or something. I refuse to go back because of this.
We ordered sandwiches and drinks. The food was made with fresh ingredients and tasted good. My personal favorite was purple haze, one for best I ever had. The people in cafe are very polite and efficient.
Needed a couple of hours on decent WiFi and this place worked out. It’s mainly a coffee/Juice shop. They have some pastries, but I just got a smoothie. Good speed and I liked the smoothie.
