On our first visit to Tahoe we discovered Maggie's for dinner. Its cozy and intimate, boutique feel is a great atmosphere for a date night, anniversary or other special occasion. They have a good wine list and the sea bass and braised rib were wonderful! The menu isn't expansive but all the choices were very good, including the burrata starter. Service was friendly and attentive.
The staff was so kind ! We came in with our golden doodle puppy, who is very much a big puppy now. They offered us seating inside since it was cold outside but once we sat down we realized the inside was a little too small for our big pup. They were so kind to move us outside after setting us up inside. They just wanted our pup to be comfortable. We got a bottle of wine, the Lamb Saddle and Short Ribs, both so good, and the dulce de leche cheesecake (super sweet if you have a big sweet tooth). Highly recommend!
Great dinning experience! Salmon was a tad bit more cooked than what I saw expecting but everything tasted amazing regardless
Quiet night but food was excellent, service great and interesting engaging server Lourdes and love the whole vibe
It was a real treat to experience Maggie's restaurant. We decided to stay at the desolation hotel, and Maggie's is their restaurant on site. Their menu is small, but wonderful. We had dinner (the filet and the salmon dish) here with one of their signature drinks and also breakfast (the omelette with potatoes and the pear glazed French toast) and the day we left we walked in and just ordered a couple of lattes. Everything was amazing! Not a single complaint and our dishes were spot clean. It was very quiet because we went up there during Halloween weekend, but we loved the attention we were given, and the ambience was perfect. Both times we sat by the fireplace and it was just perfect. Staff was really sweet and food was delivered promptly. Would highly recommend and will be back again to stay there and to eat there.
The halibut and the salmon were amazing. We couldn't stop commenting on how much we enjoy those items.
This is a very cute restaurant with cabin like decorations. The food was excellent but pricey. The service was not the best. For an average entree of $60, I think the waitress should come back & check on us. We never saw her again until she brought the bill. The other issues is they allow dogs inside and after an hour the place smelled like a kennel. This is in California which does not allow dogs in a restaurant unless service dogs. They were not. There was a dog that was about 90 lbs sitting by his owner licking the table. I gave 4 stars because the food was awesome but will not return unless they change their dog policy. They are not obeying laws.
It was a last minute decision for breakfast as it was close to where we were staying. Service was excellent, they were able to substitute a really delicious salad for potatoes to accompany my omelette. We're planning to go back today!
Ordered the short rib Beni which the waitress recommended but when the waitress brought out my food there was no short rib. Instead I was given some sort of ground beef. When I questioned the waitress about the meal she told me that it's short rib but the cooks made it different that day. I have never seen ground short rib in my life.
Staff all worked together it was impressive. The food was delicious and staff and cook went above and beyond to fix my. Plate. Was too spicy for me. It was delicious! My husband was perfect and delicious.

My husband and I were visiting Tahoe for the first time and a local recommended it to us. It was fabulous. My husband ordered the filet and I had the pasta with sea bass and it was one of the best things I have ever eaten and my husband finished it and agreed! The food, the service, the ambience was all top notch and we will be back next time we come to Tahoe.
We had a delicious dinner on the deck outdoors. It was perfect weather and the service was good. The waitress & hostess were very attentive. We would definitely return.
I so much wanted to write a good review regarding our dining experience at Maggie's and find myself quite conflicted. The food was excellent. The service was horrific which reflected in the tip. I usually tip around 25-30% for good service (not necessarily great). I have been known to tip 4x of our bill total. In this particular case, 2x the check would have been nearly $400. We do this because we can and understand that servers are generally trying to supplement their income from another job just trying to make ends meet. Now about the food. The short ribs are amazing. The venison was good too...a bit overcooked by tasty. The sauces and accompaniments are wonderful. Our problem the evening we dined was the service. Our server literally ghosted us between taking our order and then getting our payment. We literally had to chase down someone for salt and pepper for our salads. No offer of dessert. I think you get the picture. She was too busy chumming with other guests that appeared to be friends. This is not our first time dining at Maggie's, sadly it will most likely be our last. Dining out is an experience that not all can comfortably afford especially when the bill totals nearly $100 per guest.
Exceptional! Loved the food it's absolutely delicious. The peach French toast mouth watering
Had a party of six dining on outside deck. Very nice setup. 2 granddaughters with us. Had good choices for them and the servers were attentive to everyone's needs. Food was great. Would definitely recommend Maggie's.
