Some of the best Himalayan food I’ve had. The momos pack a punch and their veggie biryani was so good.

This review is coming from an Indian.
I wouldn’t consider this as an Indian cuisine restaurant. We had veg momos, tandoori chicken and some hot beverages.
Firstly I have never seen a tandoori chicken in semi gravy sweet flavour. The burnt flavour of the tandoori is missing. The veg momos are just some flour balls with very minimal vegetable stuffing inside them and the sauces which they give with them does not go along with them at all. The price of these dishes and the taste doesn’t justify at all. THIS RESTAURANT IS NOT FOR THE INDIAN PALLET!

We had dinner at this Nepalese restaurant while we were at Lake Tahoe. We ordered Veggie Momos, Veg Biryani, Matar Paneer and Butter Naan. Everything was flavorful and delicious. The Momos were made fresh and served steaming hot. The staff were friendly.

Excellent food and service! We got the chicken tikka Masala and it was phenomenal. Service was polite and friendly. Will definitely be back!

The service at this place is incredibly slow. We arrived at 2 p.m., and it's now 3:42 p.m., but we still haven't received our food. After an hour and a half, we only got our momo appetizer.
If you don’t want to wait , please don’t come here.

This is an amazing Indian Nepalese restaurant located in South Tahoe City and the food is delicious. People are really nice and I highly recommend trying Indian food here. Also know that while they might close the door for dining, they are still available for checkout in the last 1 hour and there are lots of open seating right outside the restaurant so you can always go and eat there

Shangrila Himalayan Kitchen in Lake Tahoe is a hidden gem that delivers authentic Himalayan flavors with warm hospitality. The menu offers a wonderful variety of dishes, from flavorful momos to comforting curries and perfectly spiced chow mein. Every dish feels homemade, fresh, and full of depth. The cozy, welcoming ambiance makes it a great spot to relax after a day at the lake or on the slopes. The staff is incredibly friendly, attentive, and happy to guide you through the menu if you’re new to Himalayan cuisine. Portion sizes are generous, prices are fair, and the overall experience is outstanding.

Indian approved ✅. Food was fresh and delicious. I ordered the chicken biriyani, garlic naan, butter chicken and lassi. Restrooms and tables were clean. I wouldnt hesitate coming back here again when I'm in Tahoe.

I’ve been here before and really enjoyed the food, I.e matar paneer and garlic naan but this time was a disappointment. The taste just wasn’t the same – dishes that used to be full of flavor now felt bland and underwhelming.
The experience was also affected by one of the food servers who seemed irritated and unapproachable, which made the atmosphere a bit uncomfortable. However, I do want to mention that one waiter stood out in a positive way. He was polite, attentive, and really tried to help everyone, which I appreciated.
Unfortunately, the decline in food quality and the attitude of one of the staff members brought the whole experience down. Hoping things improve in the future.
