They open at 8 a.m. do not go before 9 the one lady employee was so rude there were 2 people trying to get a sandwich at 815. Soo rude.i get a bad day she was just being mean. It was 2 sandwiches....cmon. it's work for a high school student it took her 10 whole min to make um but was absolutely rude.im assuming we were there too early. But they were open. The other guy said he tried to call she said I was to busy don't know what you want me to do. If u don't want people there at 8 please open at 9

I have been coming to this Deli for 40 plus years. I started riding up here on my bicycle for lunch with a friend when I was 8. At the time the deli was owned by John Galea, he has since sold to a new set of owners that have kept his menu items and now added some of their own. It's a very small place and a good one to grab a sandwich and take it somewhere scenic to eat. The inside has a few tables and now an electronic monitor with their menu posted on it. They are about to undergo a month long renovation so it will certainly look different when they're done. To me the sandwiches have always been on point; to my wife, who loves avocado on her sandwiches, holds a different opinion. Twice before since the new ownership, her "Tahoe Turkey" has been prepared with dark green/grayish brown mushed avocados. They were obviously spoiled so why serve them...??? It's been six months or so since we've been back and today I ordered my normal combination sub (turned out excellent) and she orders the Tahoe Turkey. Once again, gross, spoiled brown/ dark greyish green mushed avocados. The wife has now sworn off this place forever, even though it's the spot we first met... Sad. If the new owners happen to read their Yelp reviews, please oh please don't serve spoiled avocado. Just say you're out. Way better than the disappointment caused by preparing a sandwich that way...! Anyway, my experience over the last 40 plus years has always been much better. But I have to drop the star rating having witnessed firsthand another's poor experience. And I'd have to agree with her on that one.

First time I have eaten here. Service was a little slow but that wasn't the problem. The problem is the lack of meat on the sandwich. I had a large tri tip special. I took the meat from half of it and put it all on the other half. That made it much better. I rather pay more and get a hearty sandwich than have a mostly "bready" sandwich. In addition, the bread seems to fall apart very easily.

Great Mom and Pop deli. It is not on the Street ( not visible from LT Ave). Very good fresh sandwiches made to order. Husband and I picked up some sandwiches and Pasta salad for a lakeside picnic.. The only thing that was meh.... Both girls didn't seem very happy to be there. Neither one of them cracked a smile . It made you feel like you were putting them out to make your sandwich..

Went for a drive to south shore Had lunch at the Deli. Ladies were very friendly and were helpful with suggestions as I wanted a Philly style sandwich they recommended the 110 very good hubby had a club. Would recommend this place

Over all it's ok. Live up here and have been going here since before the new ownership. Don't get the chicken salad sandwich unless you want it dripping with mayo and if you don't want Ortega's on your heart attack be sure to literally watch them make it.....oh yeah, and I have requested MULTIPLE TIMES that they start carrying milk for breakfast but for over a year they won't for some reason. I'm over this place and have given too many chances to waste my time here again. But they are very nice, I just can't keep running there on my morning break to have another order wrong.

I've been coming here for a long time. The old owner was wonderful. The attitude of the kids working there have now made it so I will never come back. I ordered online and it would only let me select a certain time that was about 20 minutes out. When I got there, I called and asked them if they would bring out the sandwiches and as soon as it was ready. There's three people in there standing around and when I went in five minutes after the promise time, all I got was an attitude and a smirk from one of the employees. Will never be back again.

I was here 4 years ago during my American roadtrip. I remember this place fondly - especially because of the very human attitude of the staff.
We were in South Lake Tahoe for MDW and came to this deli after a hike. I wanted to eat something refreshing so I ordered the small Turkey Avocado sandwich, and my boyfriend ordered the large pastrami sandwich, then we ate it at the lake. This is a small storefront in a small complex. There's tons of parking around and you'll see lots of people stopping in before 3PM to grab a bite. They have about 3 tables that seats 2 on the inside and 3 right outside. Our order took a little bit of time to make due to the rush, but it was worth the wait (Especially the pastrami sandwich). I'm not a fan of pastrami sandwiches, but this was the best pastrami sandwich I've had! For a large sandwich, they graciously cut it into 5 smaller portions for you. For a small sandwich, they cut it in half. We took our sandwiches down to the beach, enjoyed the sunny weather, and people watched.

Ordered the big pastrami.. wasn't worth 16$.. in my opinion.. the sandwhich was definitely big, but not fat with meat, alot of bread..only 2 options of bread... I was expecting a specialty sandwich from the reviews I read, but it was basic...!! Cool spot right next to my hotel, but ill be on the hunt for the special pastrami I desire..especially when I'm paying 16$...!!!!
