Really bad food. Salty goulash. Gross beef stroganoff. Pretty much all pasta. The reason we stumbled here was we couldnt get a table for 10 elsewhere.
The server has terrible attitude. Apparently he’s the owner - looks like name is Richard. Ever since we sat down, patronizing and mean with no desire to serve or be helpful. When my wife complained, he told us to never come back again. And yelled something wishing our kids on our way out.
Avoid the place.

Schnitzel, paprikas chicken, and goulash were all delicious. Service was completely indifferent. Do NOT ask for bread it offends them. Brace yourself and be prepared for the hard upsell.

Everything was grey and extremely salty. This place was recommended as the “better Himmel Haus”. We were very disappointed. Everything from ambience, weird service to the food and drink selection was awful. And prices are about the same as Himmel Haus. As a German, who travelled to Prague many times, I am embarrassed that someone would call this European food. Will never go here again.

Authentic European dishes. We’ve Followed Chef Richard and wife Lenka for over 7 years, starting in Placerville and Lake Tahoe as A Taste Of Europe and now as A Taste Of Tahoe. Chef Richard’s dishes are delicious and entrees are most generous, having leftovers for tomorrow’s lunch at reasonable prices.
We ate at Himmel Hous just up the street at the base of Heavenly Valley Ski Resort, a few days before, and we were dissatisfied with the quality of the food and the steep prices.
At A Taste Of Europe you’ll discover delicious meals, friendly service and that warm touch that only a small family owned business has to offer. Just as we remember my wife’s mom Oma cooking.

I was surprised to see European restaurant in Tahoe so decided to check it out with my Mexican friend. As a Polish-American, I am familiar with the dishes since they are very similar to Polish cuisine. The quality was there, large portions, and everything tasted great. Reminded me of my mother's cooking. I would recommend and I will definitely come back in the future. PS: I wish didn't have to drive because I would have tried the Czech beer - The selection looks enticing!

Excellent spot for dinner and a true authentic meal. Staff was incredibly friendly, recommendations were excellent. Whole party agreed it was one of the most satisfying meals we've all had in sometime. The starter soup, dinner, and desert were all top notch, as well as the gluhwein. Will be a stop for dinner anytime we are back in the area in the future.

Absolutely worth the trip! I traveled all the way from Los Angeles just to experience this gem, and it did not disappoint. I used to live in Tahoe so I have had my fair share of the food and service here.
From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warmth, personality, and a dash of humor. Jayme, who is one of the owners is the type of person who makes you feel like you’ve been friends forever. Funny, a bit sarcastic, and refreshingly genuine.
The food we had was a masterpiece, bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. It’s the kind of food that just melts in your mouth, leaving you craving more with every bite. I’m so stuffed and feel like I can barely move. This place is not stingy with their servings that’s for sure! From dinner to dessert, everything was flawless. Honestly, this isn’t just the best food in Lake Tahoe; it’s some of the best I’ve had, period.
Top-notch service, impeccable dishes, and an unforgettable atmosphere where we sat by the fireplace… this place has it all. If you’re anywhere near Lake Tahoe, do yourself a favor and make a reservation. You’ll be talking about it long after your meal ends!

Portions were huge, and the lamb shank with the gravy and spetzle was AMAZING. Server was very nice and attentive. Little pricier, but we'll worth it!

This restaurant had the worst “sauce “ I’ve ever had. It seems that Maranara sauce includes your regular red sauce, and your meat sauce. My friend couldn’t even get it down after the first bite, I ordered the kids meal which had entirely too much sauce.
Then when it came time to pay, we paid with a credit card, brought it back and then it disappeared. I feel the owner/ manager/ waiter/ busboy must’ve somehow gotten it back. When we discovered the card gone, we were across the street at CVS. We then rushed back to restaurant and acted guilty like “no credit card here, if there was I would have put it in this drawer “ which he immediately opened and closed.
Very expensive for food that just isn’t worth it. It saddens me that so many people think this type of sauce is the only kind of red sauce
He’s only open 4 hours, 4-8

The roasted pork shank was indeed the most specialty item on their menu. Even for a single person, it was more than enough food. The red cabbage was sweet, the spatzle was well-made with bacon and onion, and the pork fell off the bone very easily. Definitely would recommend this item.
Parking: Parking is at the side of the restaurant where google maps will take you.

What a pleasure it was to dine at the Taste of Tahoe. We had a fabulous time and the owners and chefs create each plate with freshness and abundance. We enjoyed everything from the homemade cabbage soup, caprese salad, beef stroganoff, pork schnitzel, and also some really great Red Cabernet. I felt like family here! Thanks again.

We’re never disappointed! A must try. Everything is homemade so it does take some time to get the food but it is completely worth the wait. We got the pork jägerschnitzel and beef stroganoff and couldn’t stay off each others plates.

If you are in Tahoe or nearby, be sure to visit this great restaurant. They offer excellent Czech beer and excellent Czech food. The service is always smiling. And above all, the portions are really huge.
