We were trying to find a locally owned breakfast spot while visiting South Lake Tahoe. Getaway Cafe was listed on Google with a high rating, so we gave it a try. The weather was very nice so we sat outside. The food was AMAZING! The owner and staff were very attentive, and we were served quickly, and never had an empty coffee cup. We loved it so much that we went for breakfast again!! My husband said they had the best biscuits and gravy that he's had anywhere. Make the short drive if you're in the area. You won't be disappointed.

Amazing place. Delicious food. Long wait to get a table but 100% worth it. Diane, the owner, greets everyone, and treats everyone like family, and makes sure everyone has a good experience. The deluxe eggs benedict was absolutely perfect. 100% will come back here the next time I'm around South Lake Tahoe.
