I found this place about a year and a half ago on order delivery app. The katsu cury chicken is/was amazing like you won't find this style curry anywhere I would order it every week on my day off. I've taken a few family members to the restaurant and with covid weren't allowed in(food still worth it they all loved it). I've been excitedly waiting for them to reopen the dine in portion. They took it off the delivery apps a few weeks ago and my fears have been confirmed they're closed down. I'm not sure why they closed this place food was amazing and the owner(Okami) is a very pleasant older women, I hope she's ok. Okami if your reading this I hope you the best we will all miss your food service.

More than 10 years ago when my mom was visiting from Japan I took her to Osaka Kappo for lunch (Now it's closed. You'll find out why.) which in my opinion served the best Kappo cuisine. Osaka Kappo was packed. But I didn't want to leave. So we waited among many others who were also waiting. And here came in a Japanese customer seemed a regular whom the female owner gave a special greetings and sat him immediately. I was hoping that my mom didn't see that. (Their food was that good.) Of course she did! She was furious! She said "This place makes me sick! Let's go to some other place!" So I took her to this place despite it's a long way from Tustin but the food was as good as Osaka, I couldn't think of any other places. This story still brings tears to my eyes. As soon as we sat at a table, Okami (female owner) approached our table and greeted us warmly. Recognizing my mom just came from Japan and thanked us for coming often. We rarely go there maybe once or twice a year! And she brought us a tub of Japanese pickled Napa cabbage that was for sale! By the way, her Napa cabbage pickles are THE BEST! Even comparing to ones in Japan. Of course their food is very authentic and delicious. Service is excellent. What a stark difference in service! Every time when I talk about this story I tear up. No wonder Osaka Kappo is no longer in business. Thank you Mitsuyoshi for the great food and great service!

Oh how I've missed the food here. Thank you for being open during this time! Mitsuyoshi is one of the few authentic Japanese restaurants in the area. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. If it is your first time here, the bento box includes a wide sampler variety of items. My favorite dinner sets are the Saba and the Seabass. They also offer frozen versions of those dishes with heating instructions. They can get quite busy so please be patient. The last time I ordered takeout I had to try several times before someone answered the phone. The food is worth the wait!
