The pho here is delicious and famous, no need to argue about it. The prices are affordable, with plenty of toppings and a lot of meat. The pho tastes great, and the rice noodles are fresh, just like in Vietnam. The biggest downside is the lack of seating and long wait times

Fast service, pay first and eat later and must tip before serving but not required😏, the pho broth is too sweet with no aroma, full of cilantro, lemon and chili, suggestions for the guys cleaning the table when spraying table cleaner to avoid falling on the vegetables at a bad price, too much meat, beef balls not chewy for the special bowl..., overall holic1 is still better 🤗

They raise their prices often.
Reduce the amount
The number of customers has decreased so much that there is no line even in the evening.

Located in Rodeo 39. Know that if you want to bring your food inside the food hall, it's considered a to-go order so you'll get takeout containers. Order at the register then you're directed to a table to sit indoors or outdoors. This place always has a line out the door on the weekends and even weeknights.

I ordered #7 Steak and Fatty Flank Pho. The soup with the provided veggies was plenty of food. I liked the homemade wide flat noodles. However, the fatty flank was TOO CHEWY for it to be palatable. I would not order it again. My friend enjoyed #2. I think I prefer going to Pho 101/79 if I had to choose.

Pho is so mid. Broth came out barely warm and lacks flavor. You pay before you sit down so I wouldn’t bother tipping generously. They don’t do anything other than set your food down and don’t speak at all. I asked for napkins and was ignored. Front outdoor seating is nice but that’s about it.

Let me preface this review by saying that I’ve eaten at this location many times over the last two to three years. The last time before I came today was earlier this year (2024).

I’ve always ordered item #16 (steak and oxtail) and today was no different.

Upon the server’s arrival, I expected the usual metal bowls to be served but was surprised when I was met with a smaller plastic white bowl.

After adding my preferred toppings, I took a sip of my pho and instantly noticed that the soup was not as hot (temperature) as I was used to the bowls being. The metal bowl’s substitution was most likely at fault for this.

As I dug into my pho expecting to find one softball-sized serving of oxtail, I instead scooped approximately 5 individual pieces of oxtail that were each 1/8 of the usual size. All lacking in meat and instead cartilage/fat. The steak itself was mostly medium-rare and consequently never progressively cooked with the soup’s weak temperature.

I also noted that their red chili paste/oil was very underwhelming and bland compared to the very spicy recipe it used to be.

Considering that item #16’s price increased by $2+ ($16 plus tax/tip), I took great notice of this bad experience and had to share it with others.

All in all, Pho Holic 2 has possibly began cutting costs, consequently lowering the pho’s quality.

P.S. the staff has mostly always treated us differently from other customers (servers rolling eyes when asking for additional toppings), but I’ve always chalked it up to being an outsider (non-Asian).

I’ve added a photo of the metal bowls they used to serve for context.

Pho here is great. Great value for the amount of food you get. Other places might skimp on the herbs and vegetables but, but here they are all present and fresh. It's veryyy busy in a Sunday morning, so expect a little delay as you wait for an open table. But once our family is seated, the service is very fast and efficient. I also had the milk tea with crystal boba and it's not had either. Overall very good experience. Would visit when I'm in Cali again.
