My family has been going to China village since 1994 or 1995. It has been a staple take out place for my family for almost 30 years. Their spicy pepper ribs are a weakness. They have amazing chow mein , chicken black bean sauce and war won ton soup. They have amazing crab Rangoons and fried rice as well. Even when we moved to Tracy we would and still do make the drive to China village, after all these years they still have the same great tasting food. Thank you for you service to the community

Quick lunch with friend at another older restaurant in Stockton. Service was lightning fast, no sooner than my order was placed, I heard the wok in the kitchen stir frying away, and got my orders soon after. A big plus, the chow fun I ordered exhibited good "wok hei". I also asked for Chinese mustard and they had it, a real plus in my book showing that the restaurant cares about the quality of their products they are serving. The interior is reminiscent of a old diner complete with counter seating and booths, very refreshing. The menu is fairly limited but what they prepare is on point.

Poor quality of food, no pride in what they are serving since the restaurant has been taken over. We ordered take out, my wife asked for extra gravy, instead it was dry . We dined in, my wife ordered off their menu, when it was brought out to her, it was nothing the menu described. The man and woman who claim to be the new owners and serve the food, challenged my wife" by saying the cooks are correct & she was incorrect". They don't seem to be going by their own menu. Or by customer requests.WE miss the old crew there, they made the food and experience GOOD.The new Crew, doesn't seem to care to please or keep customers.

I was downtown and looking for a place to take my family to lunch. My dad is a picky eater so we decided on China Village. The restaurant is small and cozy and the tables fill up fast. There is street parking out in front. The service is great and the staff is nice and friendly. We ordered a couple of dishes. The food is really good and priced very reasonably. We had the Mapo Tofu, Mixed Vegetables, Chow Mein, Chicken and black bean sauce, and a chicken combo plate. We ended up with a lot of left overs. I look forward to coming back here again.

Excellent high quality and fresh food. I ordered a small egg flower soup, sweet-and-sour pork, Hong Kong style beef chow mein, shrimp and chicken with mixed vegetables. Shrimp and chicken with mixed vegetables was delicious! The shrimp and white meat chicken were very tender and the sauce was fresh, mild, and the right amount of it. The nice selection of vegetables were fresh and cooked to perfectly with a little crunch to them. The crispy noodle Hong Kong style beef chow mein was one of the best I ever had! The thin noodles were nice and crispy and a little moist in the middle with the sauce on it. The beef was high-quality beef and melt in your mouth tender. I've never been to a restaurant that had beef so juicy and tender. Absolutely delicious! Hong Kong style chow mein with crispy noodles is not on the menu but they have it there. You just have to ask for it. Sweet-and-sour pork came out hot and crispy on the outside with tender pork on the inside and each piece was coated in the sauce rather than just putting it on top and it was delicious. I loved the egg flower soup too! Egg flower soup has a delicious mild broth with a little bit of carrots and little pieces of chicken. Delicious and served really hot. All of the food was served hot and fresh. This place doesn't look like much, it's a smaller place but the staff is so friendly and it's the best Chinese food I've ever had! Also, lowest prices of Chinese food I've ever had recently. This place is about 45 miles from my home in Stockton, I was passing through but I will definitely make that trip just to go have food there again in the future.

Worse experience EVERThis review is on service and cooking practices.I called for takeout things went well. I go pick up the order and I don’t check the bag they gave me due to having a baby with me in her stroller. I get home 4 miles away and before I get into my house I get a phone call.Hey we made a mistake can you bring the food back and you will get yours. I’m like oh it’s wrong I check the bag definitely not mines. I say well I have a small child and this is an inconvenience she then says “you don’t have to come back you can keep it and we’ll make his over.” I say I want what I ordered and she says “ that order was worth more than you paid”Mmm excuse me?! Doesn’t matter then gets unprofessional.I tell them to make the customers order over and I’m coming. I then call back to talk to a manager and ask for some type of gesture for me coming all the way back. They offer egg rolls. Ok whatever. We hang up. I get another call from the first rude lady “where are you the customer is here waiting” I told them I’m not understanding why you would be trying to give a customer a bag I opened and said you would make over. She ignores everything (doesn’t speak English good) and keeps asking am I outside kindly rushing me.I finally get to the place ok here is the food. I see my correct bag just sitting on the counter and they finally add the egg rolls on top. I ask them what’s going on why is his food being made over and not mines. Rude lady looks at me with no understanding what so ever. I confirm with other customer is this the bag you brought back he says yes. I look at her like why are you choosing to make his over and not both. Still no answer. I explain to her the season and covid and still a blank stare. I then say just give me a refund and she understands that and starts the process.I don’t want to make this about race but it sure did feel like my thoughts and feelings were not heard due to my skin and they didn’t hesitate for the other customer as he is waiting with a smile. Had to figure something else out for me and my child ugh.
