I went there for a friend's birthday a couple days ago for a party of 4. We were seated outside. Our waitress was an older lady about 5'9, brown hair with glasses. She rushed us with our order when we tried ordering our cocktails. She then made us wait 45 minutes to take our order. The birthday girl had to go into the restaurant to tell them we were ready to order. I've always had amazing service there, but people who came after us got their meals before we even ordered anything. They should do a drug screening for their employees, I felt like she was on something.

Went to eat there today, March 29th..we’ve always enjoyed eating at Midgley’s because of the food, ambience and service. But today I was disappointed with the service my family and I received. It took a while for us to get our food and when it came it was incomplete My kids got what they ordered but mine took longer ( and it was just a Caesar salad with salmon!!) . Our server was nowhere to be found. She never checked on us. Not once she asked if there was anything we need.. She was not attentive at all. And if she was ever near our table she checked on the other table but not ours. It was frustrating and upsetting .. She finally brought my food after 20 minutes.. never apologized.. then she left again and never checked on us. I felt our table was neglected. I understand our table was not only one she’s waiting on but we are also paying customers. Not quite sure if she had a problem serving me and my family because the way she was talking to my son. I noticed from the tone of her voice she was annoyed with my son. My son was just simply stating that he ordered root beer and brought Pepsi instead. I didn’t appreciate it but I let it go. Midgely’s restaurant is one of our favorites but after today I don’t think we will be going to eat here for a while.. We left the restaurant feeling disappointed!!.

Dined on a Friday evening. Somewhat busy but not a full house. Five in our party. Menu states automatic 20% gratuity for parties of five or more. I am ok with that except our service was lacking, almost as if they knew they were guaranteed a tip so why bother. Food was just ok. Sorry to say I won’t be returning, especially if we have more than four in our party. At least that way maybe the service would be more deserving of the 20%.

I love coming here! The staff is always nice and quick to take your order. They have amazing vegan wings and the impossible burger is so good! They have a nice selection for happy hour also.

Went with a group of 5 for my husband’s birthday. Automatic 20% gratuity for parties of 5 or more. Ok, fine, I’ll even tip beyond the automatic gratuity if the service is great. For $50/plate average I expected a certain level of service. We felt that the service was mediocre at best. The food was OK, nothing special. The best interaction we had was the young man who boxed our leftovers for us. It was as if they already knew they were getting the 20%, so why bother? My daughter recommended the place because she had gone for her birthday with friends last month and had good service, including a slice of cheesecake on the house for her birthday. I mentioned to both servers that it was my husband’s birthday and the second one just said “I know, she told me”. My daughter even asked about the cheesecake and was told, “We don’t do that, the best we can do is maybe write on your dessert if you order something.” Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind paying for my own dessert, but is a simple “Happy Birthday” too much to ask? I won’t be returning.

Pretty decent for the price points (on the pricey side). So I asked for medium rare ribeye and it came more medium but it was still good with the seasonings. Garlic roasted potatoes for the side with plenty of garlic so yum! The grilled asparagus wasn't bad either. The grilled cesar salad was a favorite as it's rare to find! It wasn't the best I've had but definitely good. Service was so friendly and patient with our group. Plenty of parking. Slightly nicer but still casual steakhouse. Inside and outside seating.

Food was ok. Prices were to high for what was served.

My husband and I had corned beef and cabbage yesterday for St. Patrick's Day. We had to go there to place the order. It took them a long time. He had the sandwich which wasn't cut in half like they were in a hurry and sauerkraut? I thought they used cabbage. Mine was the dinner and the carrots were not cooked and no potatoes? Just was not impressed with our order and thinking this is a chef who on a special day would serve this to anyone. Won't order there again. Should have went to Bud's Seafood instead.

Disastrous visit. I've always had very positive experiences at Midgley's in my previous visits, but tonight was exceptionally bad. Given the pricing and relatively limited menu, I expect everything to be exceptional, but my filet mignon was way overdone, and by the time they had recooked it for me, my entire family had finished their meals. Although they offered me a free soup or dessert, they still charged us full price for my meal, in addition to a 20% gratuity for our family of 5. I'm shocked that my meal wasn't automatically at least discounted, if not comped altogether. The entire experience ruined our mood, and we were there to celebrate my daughter's birthday, which made it even worse. After this, I don't know if I'll ever go back.

overall a good experience. food was very good. service was average...had to wait longer than I would have thought when the place was not crowded. no real big complaints, just hoped it would have been better. not our first time...other times were a better event.

The menu is repetitive and the service is inattentive. Almost all the entrees come with the same sides (i.e., grilled asparagus and roasted or mashed potatoes), which shows a lack of any imagination. In addition, the asparagus was not even prepped properly—the ends weren't snapped off. I am all for a small and focused menu, but this smacks of laziness. While I enjoyed the banana pudding dessert (mainly because of the flambéed bananas), it was clearly Jell-O banana pudding. This place is way overpriced for the quality of food it serves.

Great food, service & atmosphere. We were passing by Stockton on our way home and decided to stop for dinner and are so glad we did!

Made reservations well over a week in advance. We were placed at the table closest to the door where other guests gathered to be seated. Food is extremely pricy for the quality you receive. Potatoes were instant and frozen. Meats/seafood grill marks on one side only, the two prawns atop the salmon had no color, old and tasted foul. We all got different amounts of asparagus spears. Parties of five or more automatic 20% gratuity added to your bill. I'm sure that attributes to the lack of attention from the server. Came from Sacramento for dinner and a show with our kids. We will be back to Stockton but will find a different spot for dinner.

I came to Stockton to help my pal Cap't Wilbust Crunch recombobulate the Kastillian Gears on his Tallywacker Thruster Machine, and we all know if it doesn't line up just right...there'll be no harvest. Well, with the help of his neighbor Ms. Primpuss we able to get the damn thing fixed, and for good too. Everyone was so happy we all celebrated with an absolutely amazing dinner at Midgley's Public House Restaurant, and I'll tell you...the food was Spectacular! 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆
