Above and beyond for my moms funeral reception. Great job.

I was so disappointed by this place, even though I sought them out. The female teenage cashier with glasses does not listen to the owner or customers, nor does she take sanitation seriously, the meat itself had no flavor other than the marks left by the grill, won't even discuss the potato salad , and the "peach cobbler" was a commercial bowl of syrup and apples. I was hoping this would be a new weekly spot for the family, but major disappointment for sure.

Small hole in the wall place but a great find! We had the grilled chicken, chicken strips and fish. All came with fries that were okay. They weren't crinkle cut so I don't know if they have recently changed them or what but they were edible, especially dipped in the barbeque sauce which is a sweet, spicy and smokey sauce that was pretty good. The chicken strips were really good, kind of a boneless fried chicken with a homemade light batter. They were not the usual chicken strips you get at a lot of places and I will definitely be back to get them again! My husband got the fish which was light and flaky with a lightly crisp batter different than the chicken strips batter. He thought it was really good and will get it again. I don't really like fish at all but I actually did like this fish. The grilled chicken was tender strips of barbequed chicken which was moist and flavorful and tasted perfect dipped in the sauce. Overall, the meats and sauce were really good and we will definitely be back for those. The fries could use some improvement, maybe using fresh potatoes instead or even just a seasoning rub sprinkled on top or something to set them apart and add some flavor. They tasted basically like frozen fries put in a fryer.

Small hole-in-the-wall out on Monte Diablo and Ryde Ave a block west of I-5. Run by the master Loye of the Grub Club downtown fame. The restaurant has 4 or 5 tables inside with a table/umbrella just outside the front door. Small, but it gets the job done. They do a brisk take-out business. Simple menu. 5 items at $5 each. I believe all of the baskets come with crinkle cut fries or white rice and a meat. Meat choices are: *Super chicken strips *Grilled rosemary chicken *Kickin' fish and chips *Kickin' grilled chicken *Smokin' bbq pork riblets I tried both the chicken strips and the fish. The chicken strips were different. Hand-cut. White and dark meat. not really strips, but more like large chunks...not in a bad way. These were the best part of what I tried. Lightly battered and deep fried. The batter had a small kick to it. The dipping bbq sauce has a bit more heat...but nothing unbearable. They also give you a side of ranch in case you're not into heat. The crinkle-cut fries were ok. Would have been LOTS better had they been served up fresh and hot. Next time I would specify that I want HOT fries. The fish and chips were served with one larger piece of fish. What there was of the fish was good. Same batter as the chicken, I believe. A bit more fish would have made a better meal. Canned soda is $1.50 (Pepsi products) and water is $1. All in all, I would return for the chicken strips. They certainly were different and interesting. They cater...
