Just came from Clucking Rooster, chicken was very good! Drinks where the Bomb.com!!!! Music was very good! I most definitely we be back.
If I could give this place a 0 I would!! I went in the afternoon on a Sunday no one was there… that should have been my first alarm..1- table was sticky and wobbly2-the drinks came out in styrofoam cups3-the food came out on paper plate4-the waffle was cold, sweet, and chewy, the chicken was dry, I choked, I burned my tongue on the scorching hot salty fries5-there was a dead fly on the windowsill6-they had two types of music going, R&B and classical music..7-their menus is a stapled 3 page report hand written on the top “ please do not take” accompanied by coffee stains, soda stains etc.As I left , an older lady was outside speaking about what I assumed to be work related as she expressed she might get in trouble about something… idk i just ate McDonalds in stead….The place should be shut down
Good hot food seasoned right.I was not expecting the chicken to taste that amazing and the side orders like green beans are on another level.I had to compliment the chief.
My husband and I decided to have breakfast at this place and we both wished we had gone somewhere else. Horrible food I ordered the two piece chicken wings and waffle with a scrambled egg, I got one extra small chicken wing and a thigh, my waffle was cold butter didn’t even melt and my egg was way over cooked. My husband ordered the three pieces of chicken and waffle was supposed to get a chicken breast and didn’t told the waitress and she responded “ oh sorry would you like a piece of chicken to go?” No thank you we already waited 45 minutes. Overall BAD….. food save your money we won’t be coming back.
Menus are paper printouts and used and stained. Plastic utensils, styrofoam cups and paper plates. Totally put off from the get go. Fried chicken was good. Waffles soft and soggy. Our server was excellent and attentive. I don’t think we will be going back. It doesn’t seem like the owners care about presenting a good image.
A hot azz mess is all I can say. There was only 4 tables seated with customers. We ordered the Waffles and Chicken with wings, all of the sides and all I can say is the wings were like small wing dings, the Mac was ok and the green beans were very good. The waffles had no taste and remind you waited almost an hour for our food with hardly any customers in the restaurant. The place is way to big. They should have just started off with a small place. This place is in the wrong place and the mens bathroom was nasty. The restaurant will not last long. Oh and the bill was close to $80 bucks way over price. This is not a true Chicken and Waffle restaurant. Detroit, Chicago and Atlanta would be highly upset for the miss representation.
Paper cups and plastic utensils. $5 for a soda and they didn’t even have any regular Pepsi. Menus look like they printed them at home. And no thank you I’m not paying $18 for a stack of pancakes. Not a pleasant vibe when you walk in.
Marcell made my chicken and it was absolutely amazing. Fantastic cooks! Loved it ?
My family and I decided to try this spot for the 1st time today. Let me tell you if I could give ZERO stars I would. The waitress was an older white woman who sat us with a dirty table and dirty menus. She asked us if we would like some coffee or anything to drink my self said if I could have decaf coffee and she gave me a dirty look and said well I’m just gonna have to make some then my cousin said he would like to have regular coffee and she made a remark by saying oh yeah you want the real stuff huh.Never came back for the rest of our tables drink orders. Came back to take our food orders and was very rude with the feed back of our questions on substitutions and what not. My husband ordered a regular fried chicken sandwich and I ordered a Spicy fried chicken sandwich. Our meals were the same. I stated I ordered spicy and she handed me hot sauces and some syrup. My child’s eggs tasted like plastic. At the end of our experience our tab for 4 adult meals, 1 child meal, 2 coffees, and 2 fountain drinks was $100. Now mind you we have no problem paying ever. But with the experience and the quality we received today. I’ll have to pay for a better experience else where. This was honestly shocking.
My husband and I came to support a local business that was advertised on Instagram and we were delighted to find a new breakfast spot since Dennys and Perko's have been disappointments to say the least. We arrived the first time to see cars parked in the lot but as we approached the restaurant the doors were closed and a sign taped on the door that read "closed for covid training ". I was not bothered at the fact that it was for training but more so at the fact that the notice could have been posted on their Instagram page since it seems to be active. We had checked it before getting there and double checked the business hours just to avoid said situation. After this, we decided to give it another try and so far we have gone twice and we have received great service from our waitress Yayley who attended us with respect, friendliness, professionalism and attentiveness. I don't know where the negative reviews on service are coming from but we received the complete opposite during morning hour service. Upon entering we were greeted warmly and seated at our table of choice and offered drinks and a menu. Yes, the menu consists of 3 sheets stapled together and I am not sure if they're permanent menus but I'm assuming it could be to cut costs of opening up a new business during a pandemic, increasing costs related to it or cost of living or simply because new ones haven't arrived yet who knows but paper or not they served their purpose. We ordered the French toast and veggie omelet meals and we were delighted at how delicious it was and more importantly how big the portions were. Compared to Dennys and perkos the similar food here is much better. Interestingly, our third time consisted of placing a takeout order and it was perfect because we were given the option to text our order and it seemed like it was perfectly timed from the time it was placed to the time we arrived to pick up our order it was pretty much efficient. I'd like to point out that on the first instance I asked for extra syrup for the toast and there was no issue. I also ordered powdered sugar on our takeout order placed on a separate occasion during peak business hours after I wasn't given any and there was no issue at all with my request as others have mentioned. As to the tables being sticky, it might be that it's the material of the table that remains sticky or an oversight faor others but we noticed our table being cleaned and it did remain a bit sticky. Another thing to point out is that the coffee was not great it was really bitter I'd suggest offering more varieties or from a more popular distributor but again that would probably incur more increase in costs or expenses for the business. The main issue here I'd say is that the wait time is a bit long to receive the food and the prices can be a bit high for a family or individuals having to limit expenses. Again, there might be outside factors but I think price is an issue when given a limited variety of breakfast items. I would suggest looking at other high-end breakfast places like the ones servicing the bay that offer similarly-priced items and compare their menus. Offering more selection for the price offered would not feel that costly for people that are able to pay for said prices. Would we come again? I would surely do so if we were in the area and craved the same items but I cannot speak for the rest of the offerings that most reviews have negative feedback on like the chicken or waffles. Would I recommend it? Yes but with caution in the sense that we have not tried the other items on the menu and to expect a long wait time.
Restaurantji Recommends
Went here for breakfast and the service was very welcoming. We were acknowledge and seated right away. I ordered the loaded chicken and waffle with eggs. My wife ordered a ham and cheese omelet with potatoes. We both ordered kool-aid and everything was delicious. Our server was extremely kind and attentive. This is a place we will definitely frequent. A gem for the city of Stockton.
Their price is ridiculously high for a basic plate of disgustingly undercooked chicken and powdered waffles. The waitresses seemed to have an IQ similarly to this restaurant's average rating of 2.7 because they do not know how to properly take a customer's order. Overall, this place sucks and I do not recommend this place to anyone, even my worst enemy. I cannot wait for Raising Cane's to open later this year because that place will know how to serve good Southern chicken.
This new waffle chicken place has been open 3 weeks now and though apparently they had some issues after their opening, they seem to have worked them out. I stopped in around 9:30 for breakfast and found the place pretty slow, only a couple tables and and a guy at the counter. I ordered the waffle chicken combo with eggs on the side. It was great! The Belgium waffle was perfect and the 2 pieces of fried chicken, though it appeared dark, was absolutely delicious and juicy. It has a unique suttle flavor you'll not find anywhere else. It's a little pricey, $21+ tip, but the portions are generous. Its a unique place, with good friendly service and I will be back.
I already knew the chicken was gonna be good. But the green beans and mac n cheese was where I was sold.. very satisfied.
I don't know if the food was good or not! Told us the kitchen was backed up for more than an hour. Half the tables & all of the chairs at the counter were empty. No wait list. Just told to "come back in about an hour or so." And three girls all talking at once to tell me,, because they were all gathered abehind the counter, was really unprofessional. No clear leadership or direction. I won't be back to give it a second try., 1st impression sucked
