Not authentic. I think the beans are from a can. The chicken for the chicken tacos is definitely previously frozen and sometimes too tough to chew in your mouth. Think most customers downtown go there because it's close to their building or for nostalgia reasons. It depends on what kind of Mexican food you are used to I guess; if your mom made delicious home made Mexican food with love and passion for her kids - then you will avoid this place but if you like slop, then by all means eat your heart out.

DO NOT ORDER ONLINE! It’s a scam! I ordered straight from their website and when I got to the restaurant, they refused to honor it. They knew about my order, they actually received the order but said they aren’t contracted with menustar. So why are they taking orders for them?

excellent I cann only recommend this restaurant. service food quality and portion size were amazing! we ate here while travelling to Yosemite and we were so happy with everything. on this trip of 3 weeks it was the best dining experience. Stockton seemed a bit sad as a town, but this place makes up for it!

Service is top notch. Food seems to fly out of the kitchen. They've been doing it forever and it shows. Highly recommend.
Simple old school Mexican restaurant downtown. We ordered a chile relleno plate and a caldo de res. Generous serving size and nice service. Food was tasty. The salsa for chips had a nice kick.
