A great local spot and a must of you are in the area. I've only had their ice cream, and the original orange flavor is the best. Indoor and outdoor seating which is nice.
Been going here off and on for years BEST Food my favorite is their Tri Tip and of course orange milkshake...but today we had tea tri tip and birthday cake ice cream it was so fresh and the nicest employees all busy but turned and smiled live up above Bakersfield but take cattle to Visalia Sales yard so look forward to another great meal in the future thank you!!!
Went in today traveling with a group. We all stood in line separately. My uncle and brother ordered first in Spanish which they understood from the cashier that they only had shakes at the moment. They ordered orange shakes. As the line continued people kept ordering soft serve so when it came to my turn I ordered an orange soft served. She asked if I wanted a lid on it (a lid was fine with me). I thought it was weird already that they told my brother and uncle whom had ordered in Spanish that they were out but I decided to order in English which she took my order. She mentioned they’d call my name out. 20+ minutes I patiently wait for my order when I started to notice that everyone in line that came after me were getting their orders first. I decide to walk to the counter and ask. They look at the receipt and inform me that they are out of soft serve for orange. I asked for a refund as likely I would not come back this way and refused their other menu options. As I am getting my receipt a customer comes in saying I got two of my ice creams and need one more. They tell her “they are out” but she insisted and they told her “let me see what I can do for you”. Absolutely weird behavior. Unorganized staff. And the fact that they told my Spanish speaking uncle and brother they were out of everything except for shakes while accepting English speaking customers ordered for soft serve is absolutely weird and sort of racist. They should have never accepted my order if they were out. Which they were deciding whom to tell yes and no to. On top of that I tipped a small 15% but they only refunded me for the ice cream.
Good orange and red velvet flavored shakes.
If you want the best TRI tip sandwich ,this Is the place to be
This place is a Central Valley legend for a reason. Drove up from the south valley today and crushed the double cheeseburger with everything + those crispy fries. Burger was juicy, fresh, and actually tastes like real beef, not some frozen patty. The homemade orange ice cream afterward? Absolute fire. That orange soft-serve is worth the trip by itself. Place was slammed but the line moved fast and everyone working was hustling and friendly. If you’re anywhere near the 65, do yourself a favor and stop. Easily one of the best burgers in the 559/661 area. Already planning the next excuse to come back.
A family emergency brought me back to Strathmore after 10 years, and I finally got to have some of this legendary orange ice cream, with a pastrami sandwich.
The service was great, the pastrami much better than expected (I messed up and forgot to say no lettuce or tomato) and the ice cream, my goodness, was worth the 10 year wait!
Only thing I'm bummed about was missing out on the roasted garlic, which is made in house. They have a board of specials to the left of the cash register, up pretty high on the wall, so don't miss those if you're a fan of roasted garlic!
Food was great and the orange ice cream was delicious.
Love their tri tip sandwiches and orange ice cream.
Amazing ice cream! Very refreshing and not too sweet.
There's lots of parking and some nice outdoor seating. This is an awesome place to stopover driving back to LA from Sequoia.

Food was delicious. Staff super friendly. They can run out of certain items throughout the day so keep that in mind. Can get really busy during so plan Accordingly. Definitely going back to try something new. Trip tip sandwich on this visit so delicious and the icecream was the perfect dessert.
Everything here is amazing!
I’m a Central Valley native who now lives in England, and this is one of the places I miss the most.
