KazuNori: The Original Hand Roll Bar

Incredibly accessible for the quality. $30 for the top prefix menu for 6 handrolls? Sign me up. Fish is fresh and delicious. Only complaint is that it's so small you might have to wait a while for a spot but it's worth the wait.

The food is fine but nothing remarkable. They serve fake wasabi, and the handrolls are just placed on a piece of paper in front of you, which feels underwhelming. The atmosphere isn’t as refined as it’s meant to be, noisy, with staff chatting in the center of the bar. The fishes all come from the kitchen rather than being prepared at the bar, and the rolls themselves are made so quickly (often in under five seconds) that the experience feels a bit awkward.

Compared to other locations, this area doesn’t get many customers but is very slow.
This location has only 1 chef for the full bar.

Kazunori is good value sushi, but I don’t recommend the Studio city location.

The food is good. If planning to visit- enjoy it.
I am used to order, because I don't like to sit on a bar with other people when I can eat at home. But now with nothing explained on their website you can't order (just 2 positions open). What's happening? Can I please order my food and how enjoy?

Wonderful Experience all around. Stumbled on this place looking for sushi while visiting Universal Studios and what a WIN. We waited 25 minutes for a seat at the large U Shaped counter that seats about 30 people - see photo. The hostess did an amazing job of cleaning and resetting the seats while the staff behind the counter crafted hand rolls and served beverages. Loved the simple and easy to order menu and you will not be disappointed with any of the hand roll set menus! Add a Japanese beer or some Sake and you will be in a state of culinary bliss.

The food is great. Super efficient. Well priced.

Only comment, I'm a big guy 6'6 so sitting at the bar stools with my legs is a tad uncomfortable. Feels like it's kinda done on purpose for faster meals times to get the customer flow in and out.

I'm surprised to read so many positive posts about the service. Went here today and that was not my experience. The food was just as bad. This place is fast food sushi. Reminded me of canned fish. Two slivers of ginger and a tiny dab of fake tasteless wasabi.Tiny seats at sushi bar no tables. I think I'm too grown up for this place.

Best sushi bar experience I’ve had. The wait was 45 minutes but as soon as I sat down, food was being served. We had the 6 hand rolls menu and were out in 30 minutes. Every roll came one at a time, warm rice, fresh fish and crunchy seaweed. Beer too was great. Absolutely delicious! The staff were super helpful and nice. Parking is difficult in the area, my I was able to find a spot. I’d go again anytime!

I tried a few of their locations now and all of them are always busy- so you know they’re doing something right! Once inside seating are all bar stools surrounding the sushi bar which makes for quick service. I usually order the 4-5 hand roll sets here but you have the option to also order them individually. My go to are the scallop, yellowtail and sea bream. Enjoy!

From the hosts to servers to sushi chefs - service was exceptional all around.

Tables were set and clean, ready to be eaten from.

I went with the 6-hand roll set along with a variety of other items including the toro sashimi, ankimo hand roll, unagi hand roll, seabream hand roll, ko ika hand roll, hirame sashimi, and two Nigoris.

As always - the seaweed was crispy with each roll. Rice was warm and soft. Fish was so fresh and tasty. My favorites were definitely the toro, lobster, crab, ankimo, eel . . . okay everything was my favorite!

Absolutely delicious hand rolls, the rice is warm and delicious and all of the fish is fresh and prepared beautifully. The service was great, I highly recommend the 6 roll set if you're coming here for dinner!
