Update: My second time here - after trying cold fish wrapped into the seaweed I got contacted by one of the regional managers. I came again - this time in Monday and it was packed. I had to wait for like 15 mins but it was a holiday.
I got seated and server lady was surprisingly good - I was getting food on time and rice to fish ratio was good too. The problem remained - half of my fish felt frozen. I will give this business 4 stars because of the regional manager and the bar's manager Christina - she was amazing - attentive, friendly, cooperative - what a great host! Thanks and I ll see you again soon

I like to go to Kazunori in Santa Monica and Marina Del Rey
Decided to try this one today. The interior looks a little different. The place was almost packed at 2.30pm. The service was good. The host and the cashier were less friendly than at the other locations but thats ok.
What I really didnt like was the fact that all fish was cold almost to the freezing level. Therefore the taste was altered in a bad way - every roll tasted pretty much the same cause the fish shines when its a little on the cooler side. I got set of 6 and only crab roll was to the point. You guys need to adjust the temperature. The portions were a little smaller too. The atmosphere was ok I guess - not a place to go to socialize with other people. Everyone was minding their own business. Outside of that decent experience. Will visit it again next time

Been here multiple times over there years, other locations as well. This one is in a small strip mall. Parking can be crowded and difficult at times. Service is always great. Food is always great. Not a huge menu, but the pricing is decent and tip is included. They only serve the rolls one by one, they will deny your request to have all of them served at the same time. It’s understandable though, it’s their policy to serve everything fresh made so the seaweed is stays nice and crisp, the sushi rice warm and the fish cold. The perfect blend of flavors and textures. As a larger person with some physical disabilities, I hate the barstool seating which is all they have at every location I’ve been to. I don’t even think they have lowered countertop areas to accommodate those who are wheelchair bound.

I recommend the 6 hand roll, it was delicious and made me feel satiated. The interior is subtle and very nice to look at. I will absolutely be coming back!

Sushi is fresh and yummy. Very plain with nothing extra. The seaweed is fresh and crispy. The house sale is also quite tasty. Service is fast and easy even though the place is always packed . I mean there’s not much of an atmosphere it’s a simple Japanese place but the bar stools are not the most comfortable ones . Very easy and yummy place for lunch

Kazu Hand Roll Bar is a must-visit for sushi lovers! Whether you're dining solo or on a date, the cozy atmosphere and friendly, efficient staff make it a great spot. They’re quick to respond and serve food at your pace—always fresh. A side tip: they won’t serve the next roll until you finish the one you’re eating, ensuring each roll is as fresh as possible. The 4-hand roll set is my go-to. It can get busy with first-come, first-served seating, but it’s worth the wait. Just be aware that parking can be a bit tough to find.

Hand rolls are the best! KazuNori maintains that by serving up delicious rolls and in a quick fashion. You may need to wait in the line for a spot at the bar, but it’s worth it every time.

Lovely little place for a date - seats were less than comfortable we both had back pain before we finished (and I love sitting at bars on stools all the time).
I assume this is so you will leave quickly, but that is understood by the line inside that time is meant to be short. Other than that I loved the staff- great servers and very friendly. Food was good!
