“Everything was amazing from the service to the food and sushi and the environment is unassuming and comfortable. Top notch!”
“Loved everything about this place!
Staff was excellent and attentive. Food was amazing and very, very creative. The brick barrel vaulted ceiling that runs the length of the restaurant really adds to the ambiance of this place. Out of the seven dishes, only two were not as flavorful as expected. They were good by most other restaurant's standards, but just not great like the others. The other five dishes more than made up for this small blip. Can't wait to go again.
Must tries:
Quail Deviled Eggs with Ahi Tuna and Dill are amazing!!
Hamachi with sprouted broccoli, tempura, ponzu, shiso aioli, Black Sesame Seeds
Charred Brussels Sprouts with almonds, grapes, and Pecorino Romano
Lamb chops with Aji Amarillo, rosemary, and yogurt. These were the most tender lamb chops I have ever had. And that often overly-lamb flavor was not there.
And do not pass up on the Charred Skirt Steak with yuca, chile de árbol, and aji mojo. Cooked to a perfect medium rare and extremely tender and exploding with flavor. The most expensive item of our dinner at $48 and absolutely worth it.”
“Food was incredible. Loved every dish we had and we did a group of 8 family style with a lot of different dishes. I am a foodie and loved everything we got. Will come back again and again!”

“Phenomenal service and amazing Gelato in the Italian style from Argentina 🇦🇷. Very friendly and welcoming. Lots of places to sit, work, visit. They've even got a back patio with gorgeous umbrellas. Great wifi and also coffee options. Support local and come enjoy some of the best coffee and dessert in LA”
“Katsu-ya is my neighborhood sushi spot, and it is a good one. This is not the place you go when you want the best sushi of your life or a meal that is going to blow your mind. This is where you go when you want good, consistent sushi any day of the week.
It is the Toyota Avalon of sushi restaurants, on the upper end of reliable, and I go there constantly. They are always busy and have many celebrity clients, if that matters to you. Service is consistently great as well. If you want a table, it is best to make a reservation since they are often very busy.”
“Aviad Yalin, it was great to talk to you today about Haifa. You are doing something really special. As you were grounded in the best in Haifa Isreal. Perhaps the best in all of Israel. Avi Cue will become a regular stop on our trips to LA. God bless and Kind Regards... Scott”
“A friend recently treated me to dinner here at this family-owned and it was spectacular start to finish. Charming, intimate atmosphere, friendly service and terrific food. I love tapas and don't know of a great tapas place in LA, so this was quite a surprise, especially in the valley.
Highly recommend the hamachi crudo, albondigas and paella, which is one of the best I have eaten.”

“The Rendition Room is hands down my favorite spot in LA. From the moment you step through the hidden bookshelf door, it’s like you’ve been transported back to the 1930s…intimate, cozy, and just the right amount of mystery. But what really makes this place shine is Richy. He’s not just a bartender; he’s a mixologist in every sense of the word. Every drink he makes feels like it’s been crafted just for you. Beyond that, Richy’s warmth and sincerity are what truly set him apart. You’re not just another customer to him…he makes you feel welcome, like an old friend, every time you stop by. The Rendition Room nails it when it comes to atmosphere, cocktails, and overall vibe. Whether you’re celebrating something big or just want a cool night out, this is the place. It’s a hidden gem that never disappoints.”

“This was easily one of the best ramen experiences I've had in Southern California. The broth was incredibly rich and flavorful without being overly salty, and the noodles had the perfect texture. The restaurant itself was spotless, modern, and had a welcoming atmosphere that made it easy to relax and enjoy the meal. The staff checked on our table frequently and made excellent recommendations. I especially appreciated how quickly the food arrived despite the restaurant being busy. Every ingredient tasted fresh, and the presentation was beautiful. I will definitely return and recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic ramen and excellent service”
“I came back for lunch for the first time in nearly 25 years, and it felt like stepping back in time. Since moving away, I hadn’t visited this area at all. The interior is unchanged, the service is warm and welcoming, and the homemade Japanese comfort food is just as delicious as I remembered. You’d be hard-pressed to find another place in the Valley that serves hijiki (seaweed) rice so casually and authentically.”
“I love this place. The food is excellent. The vibe is wonderful. The only issue is that the lids on the coffee cups do not stay on. If you walk even a few feet it will instantly leak out the side. It happens every time whether it’s 2 cups or one cup. We know this is a fixable problem.”
“This pizza place deserves way more than 5 stars.
It was great to see how welcoming the owner was. From the moment we walked in, it felt like we had known him for years. He came out from the back shook my hand and took the time to listen as I described the type of pizza my boys like.
The place is small but give you a home like feel inside from the moment you walk in. The outdoor area in the back is a beautiful set up. One of my favorite parts was the side window where you can actually see the pizza being made.
The service was incredible, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the pizza itself was a true 10/10. The owner even came back out to wish us safe travels home, which says everything about the kind of place this is.
Places like this are rare nowadays. Its nice to walk into a business and feel genuinely welcomed, not just treated like another dollar coming through the door.
this is the kind of place you need to experience.”

“I had heard so many great things about this restaurant and how famous it was, so I decided to make the trip out to Studio City and see what all the hype was about for myself.
We arrived at around 1:00 PM. Parking was street parking only, but fortunately it wasn’t too difficult to find a spot. The restaurant seemed busy, but not overwhelmingly crowded. There were about four parties ahead of us on the waitlist, so we assumed the wait would be fairly reasonable.
After waiting for about 20 minutes, I asked the host how much longer it would take, and I was surprised when I was told the wait would be another hour and a half. At that point, we were ready to leave. However, as soon as we said we were going to go elsewhere, they asked whether we would be willing to sit at the bar and immediately found seats for us.
What made this frustrating was that once we got inside, I noticed there were actually quite a few empty seats available. Personally, I don’t like restaurants that seem to create an artificial sense of scarcity or use questionable waitlist tactics. First impressions matter, and this experience left a negative impression on me. For that reason alone, I probably would not return.
As for the food, it was decent but not particularly memorable. The portions were surprisingly small. There were five of us, and we ended up ordering nine dishes because the serving sizes were so modest. Nothing tasted bad, but nothing really stood out either. It felt like food I’ve had at many other restaurants before—good enough, but not unique enough to justify all the hype.
We also ordered two plates of the famous carbonara because so many people recommended it. To be honest, I’m still not sure why it’s so highly praised. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t the kind of dish that would have me thinking about it days later or planning a return visit just to order it again.
The biggest highlight of the experience was actually the service. The gentleman working behind the bar was exceptional. He was incredibly attentive, efficient, and seemed to anticipate what we needed before we even had to ask. His professionalism and positive attitude significantly improved our overall experience. Great service has a way of elevating a meal, and he absolutely deserves recognition for that.
The atmosphere itself was pleasant, and the location has a nice vibe. Since we only ended up waiting about 20 minutes before being seated at the bar, the experience was manageable. However, if I had actually waited the hour and a half that I was initially quoted for this meal, my answer would be a definite no.
Overall, the food was fine, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was enjoyable. But considering the small portions, the underwhelming dishes, and the questionable handling of the waitlist, I personally don’t think the experience justified the reputation or the potential wait time. There are simply too many great restaurants in Los Angeles for me to spend 90 minutes waiting for a meal like this again.”
“Phenomenal food, drinks, and service. I came for the USA/Australia World Cup game on Friday afternoon with my husband and toddler. The service was warm, drinks and food were very high quality, and it was a great experience. We are moving to the neighborhood, and I have a feeling this will be a repeat local spot. Highly recommend!”
“We were 5 ppl ,ordered like 8 dishes all were amazingly great my first time to Gokaku Rama. Was so worth it after all day in universal su Dr ios,3 min drive to Gokaku place ..I did not want to end my meal .this is the best restaurant”

Takeout Restaurants
“The ramen here is some of the most impressive in all of LA. They bring you what looks like a culinary masterpiece, yet it is all vegan. The vibes are perfect with soft lighting and good music. The staff is very friendly and accommodating while also being highly skilled, as this is not the easiest to create.”
“I wish I got his name, but the gentleman who was working on Monday night was really nice. My wife and I appreciated his friendly demeanor and personality. I happened to want to try the three flavors that had just come in the past two days. I ended up getting the strawberry yuzu cheesecake scoop which was excellent with the tart yuzu balancing out the sweet strawberry and rich cheesecake. That said the sour cream blueberry donut and sweet corn and blueberry flavors were also great.”
“When my husband and I arrived we checked in an there was an hour waiting time. We still chose to wait around patiently. We finally got called to our seats, the waitress was very friendly and explain the menu. It is hard to read the menu because the lights are super deemed. We use our phone light in order to be able to read the menu items. Overall I enjoyed my husband's company & the pasta was delicious.”
“I ordered lunch takeout for work recently and honestly loved the vibe. It’s not that unique but it’s very chill and the staff were super nice. Even offered me a seat at the bar while I waited for food. Writing this review because it reminds me of a place you and your friends can go for lunch/dinner, not break your wallet, and gossip in the corner for hours so I will be trying to eat in soon.”
“There are a lot of places in Los Angeles to get a good. If not great sandwich. What sets Paulie's apart has to be the friendliest counter service I ever consistently run into. I was in there with my son this weekend and the gentleman behind the counter was kind and joked and smiled and did all the things that you want to see to make somebody feel welcome in your establishment. And it's not the first time I've experienced this there and it's not always with the same person. The sandwiches are bomb. But the service puts it over the top every time.”

“My favorite coffee shops in Studio City. Their baked goods are fresh and iced caramel latte is addicting. I order two and both are just for me. Parking is a bit of an issue sometimes and they can get busy. But the staff fulfills orders pretty fast so the wait is not that bad. I haven’t ordered anything off their prepared dishes but that’s on my to do list.”
“I go to the Tujunga Kreation everyday. The team is always pleasant & knowledgeable giving great customer service. I usually call ahead for my order, which is always ready when I arrive. Alex and the rest of the team pride themselves in having your order correct & ready!”

“My Mother’s Day (party day) order included 5 dozen mini cupcakes, 2 cakes, and some whoopie pies! I got home and realized my order was missing a dozen red velvet cupcakes. I called the studio city location for a refund on those since I had no time to go back to the bakery before the party (please open a location in Santa Clarita @susiesarich 😂). Instead, they same day delivered my cupcakes PLUS sent additional cookies and Mother’s Day treats for no additional cost to me😭❤️ I was SO amazed by the gracious customer service. I’ve been celebrating with Susie for over a decade and I will never leave- especially now! Thank you Susie and @susiecakesbakery for your delicious treats and valuing your customers so much💗”
“It's a little hole in the wall that most probably drive past all the time. Totally worth stopping. I'm glad I did. I had a bacon avocado burger. It was very tasty. Thick meat patty Not a smashburger and that was done the right way. A great bun makes a burger the greens on the burger not just iceberg but a flavorful spring mix beef seasoning was on point. Next time I come in I will be trying something different and will update soon”
“First thing you notice when you walk in is the smell. It smells so good right away. There are so many options so I asked Amir for help. He said everything is great but recommended the Naughty Pie and said the Sunset is one of his favorites. Adriana jumped in and agreed, so I went with those. They did not disappoint. The Naughty Pie was tangy and sweet with the perfect crust, no soggy undercarriage at all. The Sunset was just as good. Sweet tomato sauce with a solid layer of cheese, simple but done right. The place feels nice and homey, staff is friendly, and the pizza is easily a 100/10. Definitely worth coming here again.”
“I watched a World Cup game here at noon and even tho the place didn’t have a lot of people to feel the World Cup energy, we enjoyed the attentive service the great selection of beers and the food was good. I’ll be coming back to see more games.”
“Loved it! Filet Mignon Satay was incredible, and I liked the Heavenly BBQ Chicken too! Bummed they ran out of the Thai tea-ramisu, but the Mango & Sweet Sticky Rice more than made up for it. The host and runner were super nice too, overall great experience!”
“Love Vitellos, feels like an awesome local secret, while being a classic la restaurant at the same time. Great food, amazing staff and fun night out. They always seem to find a way to connect to the neighborhood in new and interesting ways as well.”

“Hidden gem! Fresh food, huge portions, good prices. Self serve chips and salsa bar. 7 of us came after a Franklin Canyon hike. Everyone was satisfied. The breakfast burritos and meat burritos were a huge hit. French toast was mid but the pancakes looked pretty. Fresh squeezed orange juice was perfect! Plentiful free parking. Clean and organized. Very dependable Mom and Pop spot, worth supporting!”
“my favorite gelato place in the valley! so yummy and delicious - it just absolutely melts right in your mouth! i was served by the guy, Will, and he was absolutely so delightful & kind! it is rare to find people who bring the kind of customer service he does!!!! somehow he made a simple gelato trip really fun! (he's also super cute too)”
“I used the Vons app today for a one hour delivery time frame via the Carlsbad, CA store. After the third-party member picked up the order and did not deliver for almost three hours, I requested a refund for the melted ice cream which I received promptly. I certainly did not expect to see this a couple of hours later: a refund for the entire purchase...thank you Vons for going above and beyond with your customer service!”
“I stopped in this location today for a gluten-free sub and I was so impressed by how careful they were to avoid gluten contamination. Being able to find gluten-free food that tastes good is pretty great, but I don't think I've seen another place that was this careful to avoid shared places or clean shared equipment that had to be used.”
“This Joe's tastes almost as good as the Joe's back home on Carmine Street in NYC! I was so pleasantly surprised when I had the pizza at this location that it was as good as it is! The crust is a bit less flour covered that the one on Carmine, but otherwise the taste is way more comparable than I expected!”
“Cool dicey bar feel with great drinks and fabulous bartenders! Loved it when it was Oyster Bar, and still loving it as Oy bar!!!”
