“Must get sushi, but don’t forget the corn tempura and momotaro tomato (seasonal). Awesome sake selection too.“

“I came back for lunch for the first time in nearly 25 years, and it felt like stepping back in time. Since moving away, I hadn’t visited this area at all. The interior is unchanged, the service is warm and welcoming, and the homemade Japanese comfort food is just as delicious as I remembered. You’d be hard-pressed to find another place in the Valley that serves hijiki (seaweed) rice so casually and authentically.“

“We had the Ume Omakase menu and didn't even know sushi could be so good. Such a wonderful experience for our anniversary. Atmosphere is cozy and friendly.
Boyfriend's review: How do I give 100/5 stars?!? This was honestly a life changing sushi experience“

“This was easily one of the best ramen experiences I've had in Southern California. The broth was incredibly rich and flavorful without being overly salty, and the noodles had the perfect texture. The restaurant itself was spotless, modern, and had a welcoming atmosphere that made it easy to relax and enjoy the meal. The staff checked on our table frequently and made excellent recommendations. I especially appreciated how quickly the food arrived despite the restaurant being busy. Every ingredient tasted fresh, and the presentation was beautiful. I will definitely return and recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic ramen and excellent service“

“Katsu-ya is my neighborhood sushi spot, and it is a good one. This is not the place you go when you want the best sushi of your life or a meal that is going to blow your mind. This is where you go when you want good, consistent sushi any day of the week.
It is the Toyota Avalon of sushi restaurants, on the upper end of reliable, and I go there constantly. They are always busy and have many celebrity clients, if that matters to you. Service is consistently great as well. If you want a table, it is best to make a reservation since they are often very busy.“

“Katsu-Ya seriously exceeded expectations, especially for takeout sushi. Everything was packaged beautifully and the fish quality was extremely fresh from the moment we opened everything up.
I ordered toro belly, yellowtail, albacore nigiri, a yellowtail crudo-style dish topped with crispy onions, spicy tuna on rice cakes, miso soup, and a salmon bowl. The cuts were buttery, clean, and incredibly well prepared. The toro especially melted in your mouth, and the yellowtail dish had such a good balance of freshness, texture, and crunch from the onion topping.
The spicy tuna on crispy rice is one of my favorite dishes anywhere and Katsu-Ya absolutely delivered. Perfect crisp on the rice without being overly greasy, and the tuna had great flavor and heat balance. Even the miso soup tasted fresh and comforting instead of feeling like an afterthought.
Very impressed overall. Some sushi places lose quality with takeout, but this held up beautifully.“

“What a beautiful restaurant. Loved the menu- so many delicious options, ended up getting the bulgogi plate and it came with so many yummy sides I was delighted. Also the interior is Titanic themed and it’s pretty and fun. Thank you 🙏“

“Wonderful Experience all around. Stumbled on this place looking for sushi while visiting Universal Studios and what a WIN. We waited 25 minutes for a seat at the large U Shaped counter that seats about 30 people - see photo. The hostess did an amazing job of cleaning and resetting the seats while the staff behind the counter crafted hand rolls and served beverages. Loved the simple and easy to order menu and you will not be disappointed with any of the hand roll set menus! Add a Japanese beer or some Sake and you will be in a state of culinary bliss.“

“I ordered lunch takeout for work recently and honestly loved the vibe. It’s not that unique but it’s very chill and the staff were super nice. Even offered me a seat at the bar while I waited for food. Writing this review because it reminds me of a place you and your friends can go for lunch/dinner, not break your wallet, and gossip in the corner for hours so I will be trying to eat in soon.“

“This place is fantastic in person. Their fish is fresh and their rolls are made with care. Their tuna crunch roll and uni are fantastic.
However, I wouldn't recommend ordering takeout/delivery. I usually order from a spot that has wrappers for their seaweed to ensure that you get a fresh crunch with your hand roll. I decided to give the bar a shot for delivery and was very disappointed to find that the rolls came soft and soggy.“

“When we discovered that our favorite local sushi spot had closed, we despaired… until we stumbled across this terrific little place. The atmosphere is unassuming but pleasant (lit-up fish sculptures hanging by wires from the ceiling!), and the food & service were fantastic. Beautiful presentation, delicious food. Our waiter Caleb couldn’t have been nicer, even brought us free dishes to sample. (Try the roasted Brussels sprouts!) Highly recommend this place. We will be returning for sure!“

“I go to Sushi Stop in Studio City quite often. Overall, the food is really good. When ordering delivery it’s not always as fresh as dining in, but for the price it’s worth it.
The only downside is one of the waitresses. Unfortunately, I don’t know her name, but she never seems to make an effort. Last time I was there on Saturday, August 15th and she didn’t even bring wasabi and ginger — we had to wait for another waiter to help us. She also never clears dirty dishes, and even after we finished our dinner, she never came back to clean our table.“
