“It was our first time going here after our local favorite closed, numerous friends and neighbors told us about it. Right next door to the Baked Potato. Amazing neighborhood sushi spot, delicious high quality fish, very authentic Japanese restaurant feel. I judge new sushi spots by their Mackerel (can be very fishy and oily if not fresh, this was sweet), Uni (bright golden yellow, sweet/ocean salty and firm texture) and sweet shrimp (fried head with live shrimp), all were TOP SHELF in quality. And we had a very fun, reasonably priced cold saki (Souden Yamahai Tokubetsu Junmai). It had a classic melon fruit front palette with a uniquely spicy finish that we loved at a fair $30 price for 300ml, our new fav. The service was crisp with multiple waiters helping us, like most authentic Japanese restaurants. We'll be regulars.“

“Jinya Ramen truly exceeded my expectations with their exceptional offerings. The classic ramen was rich and flavorful, perfectly embodying the essence of authentic Japanese cuisine. The gyoza was a standout crispy on the outside and delicious filling, it was simply incredible.

I’m surprised this restaurant doesn’t have a five-star rating its at 4.6 yet the quality of food speaks for itself they get 5 stars from me. As a business owner, I deeply appreciate the outstanding customer service we received from our server, Erickson. His attentiveness and friendliness made our dining experience even more enjoyable.

“I want to give a special shut out to Jose, Reyes, and the manager who helped make our night a very great experience! My girlfriend deals with gluten allergies so its always a struggle to find a good spot to enjoy ourselves without a decent amount of research. This place definitely hit it out of the park! If you have celiac sensitivity of any kind you should let your server know immediately.

We were able to walk in without a reservation and be seated immediately (heads up: on busy times you might be waiting approx. 30 min or more, so a reservation is recommended) and were immediately served with excellent service. We told our chef Reyes about my girlfriends gluten sensitivity, and it felt like the whole staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable with our meal. They swapped our ginger and wasabi to make sure there was no cross contamination, swapped our soy sauce with gluten free soy sauce, cleaned their station from contamination, and even made substitutions to her order when they could (she really wanted a California roll, so they used real crab instead). Our server Jose and the Manager (I'm sorry I never was able to ask for a name!) made sure we had everything we needed and that our table was clutter free during our meal. The atmosphere was very friendly and casual, and the food was top notch. I definitely recommend the spicy edamame, which can be made gluten free upon request.
If you want to have a good dinner and a very relaxing experience, I recommend this place highly. We can't wait to come back.“

“Katsu-Ya seriously exceeded expectations, especially for takeout sushi. Everything was packaged beautifully and the fish quality was extremely fresh from the moment we opened everything up.

I ordered toro belly, yellowtail, albacore nigiri, a yellowtail crudo-style dish topped with crispy onions, spicy tuna on rice cakes, miso soup, and a salmon bowl. The cuts were buttery, clean, and incredibly well prepared. The toro especially melted in your mouth, and the yellowtail dish had such a good balance of freshness, texture, and crunch from the onion topping.

The spicy tuna on crispy rice is one of my favorite dishes anywhere and Katsu-Ya absolutely delivered. Perfect crisp on the rice without being overly greasy, and the tuna had great flavor and heat balance. Even the miso soup tasted fresh and comforting instead of feeling like an afterthought.

Very impressed overall. Some sushi places lose quality with takeout, but this held up beautifully.“

“Wonderful Experience all around. Stumbled on this place looking for sushi while visiting Universal Studios and what a WIN. We waited 25 minutes for a seat at the large U Shaped counter that seats about 30 people - see photo. The hostess did an amazing job of cleaning and resetting the seats while the staff behind the counter crafted hand rolls and served beverages. Loved the simple and easy to order menu and you will not be disappointed with any of the hand roll set menus! Add a Japanese beer or some Sake and you will be in a state of culinary bliss.“

“I loved the food and drinks. We had sweet spicy chicken, bulgogi plate, rose tteokbokki, honey lemon tea, sikhye. The food was fresh and arrived super fast. I wish my tummy had more room. Service was great and they had good kpop music playing. Will definitely return for more.“

“Thank you to the store and especially to the employee who took the time to help me with this situation. We had a Dasher named “Heorhii” who picked up our order, and shortly afterward the order was marked as canceled, stating that the store was unable to fulfill it.

I contacted the store directly and spoke with a gentleman who was extremely helpful, professional, and courteous. He explained that the food had in fact been prepared and that, based on what he could see, it appeared the Dasher may have canceled the order after picking it up.

I really appreciate the store employee taking the time to explain what happened and help clarify the situation. For anyone using delivery services, I recommend keeping track of your Dasher’s information and, when appropriate, documenting the vehicle and license plate in case there is an issue with an order. If you believe a Dasher has taken your food, report the incident directly to the delivery platform so it can be properly investigated.“

“Run, don't walk. Best handroll bar in LA. No contest. Now don't get me wrong, I love me some Kazunori, and have been going for years but this place has stolen my heart (and tastebuds). The flavors are out of this world and the fish is always fresh. Every single roll is excellent, and the appetizers are simple and tasty as well. Service is also always top tier, and the sushi chefs clearly know what they're doing. I was skeptical at first, but they really did take handrolls to another level. You will not regret it. The Lux 3 is my favorite, and I usually double up on it when really hungry. It's my go to spot for sushi now! And, shout out to the sushi chefs and in particular Marcos (sp?) who hit it out of the park with a delightfully delicious culinary experience today. Probably the best hand-rolls I've had since I started coming a couple years ago, and you can tell he's meticulous. Also, the bar's ambiance is very pleasant, modern, clean, and intimate with low lighting that's just perfect to enjoy your meal in peace.“
