“I visited Jade in Beverly Hills yesterday with my girlfriend, and we had an incredible experience! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was luxurious yet inviting—a perfect mix for a special evening.

For appetizers, we started with edamame and the spicy tuna crisp, both of which were absolutely delicious. The flavors were fresh and perfectly balanced, setting the tone for what was to come.

For my main, I couldn’t resist ordering the Diamond Roll, and wow—it lived up to its name! Packed with lobster, caviar, and topped with gold flakes, it was both visually stunning and bursting with flavor. For dessert, I indulged in a chocolate tart with strawberries and, yes, more gold flakes. It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable meal.

We also paired our meal with a bottle of champagne, which elevated the entire dining experience. The staff was attentive and made sure everything was perfect throughout the night.

The vibes at Jade were amazing—chic, vibrant, and upscale without being pretentious. I would absolutely recommend this spot for a date night or any special occasion. We’ll definitely be back!“

“Exquisite cuisine- chef was formally trained in Japan and his expertise shines through in every dish. Particularly the lightest, crispiest tempura once could ever hope to enjoy. Attentive, perfect service. Only knock is that it’s quite expensive, making this a once-every-five-years kind of culinary experience. That being said, we will be talking about this meal for weeks. It was *that* good. Life is short: treat yourself!“

“Hair on a business trip and pull this name out of the hat for sushi tonight, it was close by our hotel. We were the first to arrive approximately 6 PM and received such a warm welcome from the host Astrauex, the sushi chefs and our server. The fish was fresh and tasty, The yellow tail melted in my mouth. They are light on the rice, which is wonderful! You have to try the marilyn monroll! By the time we were done more guests were filtering in.... Don't forget the green tea matcha mochi!“

“It's like a unique evolution of Japanese tradition, and it's a new perspective and a wealth of ideas that can almost be called something else. It's wonderful ?
I was as shocked as when I saw Milk Boy's manzai for the first time.

Just like in Japan, we still use fresh locally caught fish and age it to bring out its flavor, but is the method used to bring out the deliciousness of the ingredients not called Edomae but pre-California? Even the same sushi can be different or even special.

My favorite flavor was the crab shell and watermelon dish served on one plate. It's a fun experience to know that fries that contain the flavor of crab and juicy fruits go so well together! Like Matsu-chan and Ucchan when they teamed up for the New Year's Dream Manzai, the royal road is the royal road, but depending on how you look at it, it feels like the evil road.

Is it when you enjoy a meal when you have an experience you've never had before or when you come across a great idea? I'm not sure, but,
It's delicious, so I'll summarize that you should try it. Please refer to the photo.“

“Best experience at SUGARFISH.
Currently wishing I didn’t live in Arizona, so that I could easily grab a bite from there now! I was visiting LA for PIlates training and made it a mission to find the best sushi and
this was top of the list. From the person who greeted me at the front, to the amazing staff Gabby and Michael, they made me feel welcomed and not so alone even though I was a party of one. The restaurant manager David, was very kind and made sure to check in once I had my food to ensure all was well. The entire team, atmosphere and food was 10/10! Can’t wait to go back.“

“Chef Yamamoto has a beautiful story to tell and his food reflects it. Thank you so much for the most memorable experience. This used to be Chef Urasawa’s space and it has been preserved. I was so pleased to see that the special wood countertop has not been changed. The food is very special but the alcohol pairing is even more special. So if you are planning to come here, make sure you get the alcohol pairing. It elevates the food to a whole different level. The chef and the staff are extremely gracious and that makes for a phenomenal experience. The Sake is some of the best I have ever had. We started the food with a beautiful barbecued smoky tilefish in a homemade tortilla. It was absolutely delicious and it set the tone for the entire meal. Some of the highlights were the Astrea Caviar Toro, the abalone soup which came after the Awabi-abalone, the kegani-hairy crab, uni-sea urchin, and the A5 Wagyu beef was the most phenomenal beef I have ever had. I was concerned that the food would not be enough to make us full but to my surprise, by the end of the meal we were pretty full. My husband does not enjoy sake so they recommended different wines that he really enjoyed. This was a very expensive dinner, but this is a once in a lifetime experience. I would only ask that chef Yamamoto adds to the courses to justify the price. I highly recommend this restaurant for a very special evening.“

“Delicious Omakase for a worthwhile price!

Stand-out bites included:
- Kelp & kombu marinated local halibut nigiri (my personal favorite)
- Local black cod with miso
- Santa Barbara Uni & Sweet Shrimp
- Alaskan Ikura marinated in dashi broth

The classic slices (Salmon/Tuna/Albacore/Yelltowtail) were also delicious.

Rockpool really stands out among the recent Omakase hype, not only because the locally and japanese imported fish tasted incredible, but their 16-piece and 13-piece omakase options come in at an incredible $78 / $58 price!

That’s about $6 a bite after tax and tip, which for LA is pretty phenomenal given the top notch quality of this place.

Dietary restrictions: They make sure to ask you about any dietary restrictions and/or dislikes you might have which is very appreciated for an omakase focused restaurant.“

“This restaurant is great if you like take out sushi. They used to have a sit down restaurant years ago but has relocated to a pick up only. Sushi rolls are large and justifies the price. It's very tasty and quality is up there. I like how consistent they are. I never had one bad order come from them. You can tell if you're getting questionable fish by the smell of the restaurant and this place never smells bad. I.e. fish that's close to spoiling has this distinct smell. The only downside is that the folks running the place are a bit older so on a busy Friday/Saturday night the order can take a half hour or more. Their website needs a refresh but I uploaded some photos of their menu.“
