“We ordered Rose Teokbokki in first visit. I really loved it . Then we visited again to try the OG chicken Katsu and I really loved it. I would definitely go back for it. Portion size was very good for the price. Teokbokki size was huge. The service is very good .Very kind staff and customer friendly. I loved the ambience and the local Korean vedios running in the television which made me feel like I was in South Korea. The staff gave us miso soup as complimentary which I really appreciate. I would order it in my next visit as it was tasty. Overall I would definitely recommend for my friends and family.“

“I truly like Yaki’s and the way the food is prepared. If you’re under 21, you probably won’t notice much difference, and to be fair, the flavors are good. I’m writing this simply as constructive feedback — it’s completely up to you whether you want to act on it or not.

I still enjoy Yaki’s, but I only eat here a couple of times a year now because I personally have a harder time digesting some of the current ingredients.

The reality is that people in this area are willing to pay more for higher-quality beef and cleaner ingredients, especially in La Crescenta. The neighborhood has changed a lot — it’s no longer the same immigrant community it was in the 1990s with lower-cost housing. Today, it’s become a much more affluent area with higher expectations around food quality.

It’s also worth noting that La Crescenta locals have not traditionally supported fast-food style chains. Businesses like McDonald’s, Burger King, Pizza Hut, and Papa John’s didn’t last here for a reason. Residents generally avoid fast-food quality and prefer better ingredients.

I genuinely believe Yaki’s could be even more successful and stand out for another decade and beyond by upgrading just a couple of things — better quality beef for the bowls and higher-quality (possibly organic) hot dogs for Bulldog. With that small change, this place could be next level for the area

“Hands down my favorite place to splurge for dinner. Sitting at the bar for piece-by-piece omakase is always such a great experience. They buy what’s best from the market for that evenings service so I’ve seen them run out of stuff, but that means everything you’re eating is incredibly fresh. Adventurous eaters will be rewarded with the best seasonal delicacies. I’ve sat and eaten for 2 hours and not been served the same thing twice, unless I requested it. Easily some of the best sushi & sashimi outside of Japan.“

“Been coming here for about 6 years and it’s still my favorite poke spot. The fish is always fresh, the portions are great, and it tastes just as good as it did the first time I came. I’ve tried a lot of poke places around LA County and always end up comparing them to this place.

You can tell it’s family owned because they actually care about the quality and consistency. Nothing fancy, just really good fresh poke every single time. Definitely worth supporting local businesses like this.“

“Food was amazing! The sushi cuts were premium, fresh, and beautifully presented. The Suntory Premium Malt on draft was super creamy and refreshing, and the yuzu highball had the perfect balance of sour and sweet. Honestly, it’s a little dangerous with how easy it is to drink.

Everything came out quickly, and my favorite dish of the night was definitely the chirashi. I’ve been to other Kopan Ramen locations, and this one easily stands out as the best. The overall quality and presentation of the food just feels like a step above the others.

Our server, Ahrah, was amazing as well. She took great care of us throughout the night and made sure everything was up to par.

“We had such a great time at Hikari Sushi! The service was amazing, Ji Woo & German were GREAT !! Very friendly and knew the menu really well and even made great sushi suggestions for us. Very upbeat and family friendly place and clean ! We will DEFINITELY be returning here again and again. They also have 20% off of rolls Monday- Thursday, which is great because the sushi is very fresh!“

“This is THE best restaurant let alone sushi restaurant in Montrose. The customer service is amazing, so well organized, and will make anything possible for you.

I've been here over a dozen times over the last 7 years because it's my Dad's favorite spot but I've been going more consistent this past year with my husband.

The fish is consistently fresh and flavorful. The rolls are made to NEVER fall apart and even their tempura rolls seem healthier than other restaurants.

We threw my Dad a 70th birthday dinner here with a total of 9 guests and the server Ken was 5 stars. He was always around if we needed anything while not being too over our shoulders. They held a cake for us also and had it ready for us after our food was finished.

I love this place so much and would recommend it to anyone who wants the best sushi in town!!!“
