“We orders a variety of items so we could try a lot of options on our first visit. Everything was delicious! I especially liked the Spicy Scallop Hand Roll and Mushroom Medley. All our orders came out in rapid succession so we got filled quickly. My only recommendation is for he food comes out mored slowly so you can savor each item.“
“This is my favorite sushi place. Small unassuming location in a strip mall. There’s no Cheetos and bacon roll or whatever, if that’s your kind of thing. This is a sushi master serving simple, fresh, perfectly prepared, traditional sushi. The toro, the uni, the oysters, the mackerel, it’s perfect. The server let us know which plates they didn’t want us to use soy sauce on. I thought it was beautiful and I didn’t use that stuff on a single dish anyway.“
“When I say this place is a hidden gem, I can't emphasize that enough. An incredible experience with engaging, attentive staff that are enthusiastic to serve you.The chefs offer great entertainment and witty remarks that make it fun. Best restaurant I have experienced in years. Bravo“
“I love Oishi Sushi! Their sushi, sashimi and rolls are melt in your mouth! Please get their Rising Hamachi roll, Salmon carpaccio and Seared Albacore with Crispy onion! Their sushi are all delicious especially the jumbo scallop! Great service as well. Can’t wait to come back!“
“Stepping into Joon Shabu Shabu was like opening the door to a dining experience that was not only new but truly magical, marking my delightful introduction to the art of hibachi-style soup creation. This wasn't merely a meal; it was an opportunity to dive into the exhilarating world of cooking right at your table, blending the joy of do-it-yourself cuisine with the comfort and elegance of dining out. The welcoming vibe, accentuated by tantalizing aromas, set a perfect stage for the culinary symphony that awaited. The team at Joon Shabu Shabu was exceptional, radiating a blend of genuine warmth and professionalism that made me feel immediately at home and cherished. Their guidance through the menu and the dining process was like having a personal culinary coach by our side, ensuring that my companion and I felt confident and excited about the adventure we were about to undertake. This thoughtful, non-intrusive support allowed us to savor the array of sauces and ingredients at our own rhythm, adding layers of joy and discovery to our meal.As we placed our orders, the excellence of service continued to shine. The dishes served were a feast not just for the taste buds but for the soul, with every bite bursting with freshness and flavor. The ingredients were abundant, and the equipment was so clean and simple to use, making the entire cooking process a breeze and incredibly fun.Visiting Joon Shabu Shabu was a transformative journey for me, turning what I presumed might be a complex dining style into a celebration of simplicity and conviviality. If you're ever in Glendale, I wholeheartedly encourage you to treat yourself to this gem of a restaurant. It's a place where your culinary dreams are met with a vibrant atmosphere and a chance to play chef, promising not just a meal but an uplifting experience that will brighten your day and warm your heart. Joon Shabu Shabu isn't just about satisfying your hunger; it's about creating memories that linger long after the meal is over.“
“This place is the definition of a hidden gem. Unbelievably amazing ramen everything is just right with flavor and spice. Very laid back aesthetic and service was wonderful. I ordered and highly recommend the spicy tonkotsu it was probably the best I have had in Los Angeles. Outside of the amazing ramen they have so much more to offer. I cannot gush over this place enough. If I could I would give it 6 stars out of 5 just for havingSapporo and asahi on draft on top of everything else.“
“The sushi rolls were great. I still haven't found a spot that makes great crush rolls here I'll give it a 3.7/5. I love the Super Rainbow Roll pack with Protein. That kick in the 411 was a nice feeling. The service was very welcoming and welcomed me to the community as a new person.“
“I grew up in Glendale so I known Mitzee’s for at least 15-20 years!! Your Chef AKA ( your cook ) has been there if not mistaken the same amount of time. Food taste and presentation has been the same since the first time I had it, their hot sauce it’s AMAZING! if you love spicy, if you don’t have high tolerance for spicy stay away or have just a little lol. I know leave in Downtown and when passing by Glendale I make it a stop…“
“Omg this place is awesome! It is a perfect blend of simplicity, flavors and service. There's only one other place that I can remember, the tonkostu ramen being so rich and creamy not salty and that was in Washington DC. We also get the spicy crunchy tuna roll and that was excellent. I think the best restaurants make you want to make the trip back to enjoy them again, I'm coming back!“
“Very excellent sushi! More on the pricey side but the quality is absolutely worth the extra money! I also really like the creativity of the rolls, I loved the salmon scallop roll, the dynamite hand roll, and the creamy salmon hand roll! My bestie also got the green yellowtail and loved it a lot as well!My best friend and I are big sushi aficionados and were quite impressed! Service was excellent and staff were welcoming and polite. The restaurant was very clean with a relaxing atmosphere. I would love to come here again!“
“When you’re tired of Thanksgiving food, or just craving bomb sushi, then I’ve got the place for you! ????Octopus (located in Glendale & Burbank) is a Japanese restaurant serving up fresh seafood, meats, and produce. It’s a casual and fun vibe, but the dishes are high end (I mean look at the presentation of this Yellowtail Sashimi?). I went for happy hour and here’s everything I enjoyed (cost included) ⬇️:? Yellowtail Sashimi - $12.95? Tempura Roll - $8.95? Lychee Breeze Cocktail - $13.95 for a carafe? Tonkotsu Ramen - $13.95 Garlic Chili Edamame - $4.50I loved all of the flavors that were incorporated into each dish. They charge an additional 25 cents to add spice to the ramen and it was just what the pork broth needed. Overall, it was a nice experience and I will definitely be back ✨“
“My fourth trip to this establishment for lunch and not my last. I go for their lunch specials on rolls and bento boxes. 1/2 off on designated rolls and 30% off on bento boxes. Ordered a three item bento box which also came with rice, salad, miso soup, sushi, and gyozo. All fresh and tasty. Ordered an additional roll at 1/2 off. I did not leave one morsel behind on my plate. And service is fast and attentive. It's a great lunch option.“
“TLDR: Great hole in the wall, very kind people, either order the Yako Burger or get a bowl/plate. The Yakisito is underrated. The Yako burger is the best unique food item in a 5 mile radius. To see that this institution has anything less than 5 stars brings great sadness into my life. Yaki's has been a local mainstay for many years, I imagine that 90% of their business is teriyaki plates and bowls which they do very well and for a fair price. But I want to help put the word out there that there is something very special at Yaki's that many people don't see to know about, and it's the reason I've been coming my entire life: The Yako burger When family and friends come to town, they ask me "so what's a good local spot? Any cool unique food items I should know about" (verbatim). I tell them about the Yako. An item that, while on paper sounds like the bad dream of a 7th grader, never ever ceases to satisfy. A giant burger with no frills. Bun, raw section of onion, a pile of too good to be true chicken (thigh), cheese (this is where people make a face but it's actually a perfect choice), patty, and all covered some special sauce. The burger is very tasty, filling, and reasonably priced. Cant go wrong with any bowl/plate either The ladies behind the counter are beautiful people, extremely kind, and wonderful cooks. Owner is cool guy, met him once, he definitely cares. Critical section: the non yako burgers are alright, nothing to call home about. They should be pushing the Yako the way they push the bulldog. The bull dog could be good in theory but both the cheese and dog taste like 1000x markup. The bulldog is, aesthetically, at best, a guilty pleasure. The Yako in contrast, is hearty, sturdy, a *sandwich*, something someone can believe in. Also, eventually someone should make the door handle on the men's restroom match that on the women's, so they're both lever style. So when I go to wash my post-yako hands I can open the door easily.“
“My favorite place for sushi. I got the Japanese Omakase and my wife just ordered a few different kinds of rolls. Everything was excellent and the service was very attentive. I've been coming here for a few years now and will definitely come back.“
“This is a nice little Japanese restaurant with great tasting choices of food including sushi, ramen soup and bento choices. We visited this place for an anniversary dinner in memory of our first date. We really enjoyed the food and the service.“
“I can see why y'all rave about this burger, it's real good. We are on a burger crawl since moving here and this one is in the top 3 for us. The guy taking our order was kind and honest (let us know it would be a wait up to 30 mins) but it came out sooner than expected. It was crispy, juicy, cheesey and just a damn good burger.“
“Beautiful restaurant in a very quiet location. The food was amazing and they had a special 50% bogo. We purchased many plates; but I was impressed they had tempura shishito peppers, they were delicious. The service was outstanding, clean and spacious restaurant.“
“Hands down, the best Poke place I have eaten at. I travel for work and I love Poke and I try to visit local Poke restaurants where I'm visiting. The large selection of seafood and toppings makes for a great meal. I love the spicy tuna, the shrimp and scallops. I usually get two scoops of crab meat and add avocado, edamame, cilantro and spicy Poke sauce. I never get tired of eating it. Co-workers say it is the best Poke restaurant they have ever eaten at. They have pretty loyal clientele. You can order online, although I have never done that, and pick up your order. There isn't a lot of seating and it's a large long table in the center and a section against the wall where you can sit and eat. Seating is usually available and most people I noticed take out their order. The parking lot is small and you can usually find parking on the street if necessary. I totally recommend this place. The owner is nice, the management is nice, the step is incredibly friendly and it's just a pleasure eating really good healthy food at this location.“
“This is literally the best spot for sushi I ever been to. They’re always packed yet have the best and fastest service, I’ve been going there for 6 years now. Everyone is so friendly and smiling. Haven’t had sushi as good or as fresh anywhere else besides here! Never liked raw/sashimi but this place is a game changer.“
“As an avid sushi goer there's a lot of factors that go into good sushi. The ratio of fish to rice, the quality of the ingredients, and the effort of the chefs in showmanship and aesthetic. This place delivers on every mark! Came here for my grandma's birthday on a Saturday night and they made our experience truly special and warm. The atmosphere is pleasant, the staff are delightful and attentative, and really make this place shine. For anyone who complains about the "quantity", sushi isn't meant to be enormous like most western food establishments. Moto Sushi does one thing and they do it EXCELLENTLY! Much love and success to this local gem“
“Food was great as we went with our family of 6. Wife and I had sushi while the kids enjoyed the chicken tenders and fries. The service was on point and they were very attentive to our needs. The ambiance was nice and family friendly with a bunch of seating for larger groups and even a sushi bar if you wanted to sit and eat at the bar.“
“This sushi establishment is one of my top favorites. Ive eaten here since 2013, and I can confirm the restaurant only kept on getting better. The chefs always do such a good job on presentation and the overall taste of the food. The waiters are always so kind and polite as well. The atmosphere is also one of the main things I love about this place. The dim lighting, the cleanliness, and the outside eating area. Even at times when its crowded, theres this sense of calmness I always feel when I eat here with my mom. Anyway, love Blue Fish!!!“
“Everything was great. Sushi is buffet sushi, but still good, especially at dinner time with the sashimi. The Chinese options are all really good. We didn't get to the teppan/Mongolian grill, but I saw short ribs there on the way out so maybe next time ??. Come in right at 4pm and get all the dinner only foods hot and fresh without the crowds.“
“I'm back at this restaurant and it hasn't disappoint me yet! I brought my son today and he is in heaven! I don't know why it says it's close when it's open? But it's under new management. The all you can eat menus are great and the food is amazing. For the money you paying it's worth the food your eating. Very tasty and decent size portions not to much rice! The service is definitely on point! I know the previous times I've been here service was okay and they would take a long time to feed you but this time around I give them 5 stars! Definitely upgraded in the service department...I definitely recommend this place come try it out! Definitely the best all you can eat place I've eaten! They give you good portions“
