“Food was super tasty! Price was great for the portion they give and they really load up the bowl. Service was quick and my cashier was nice!

I got the spicy mayo chicken bowl and the chicken was juicy with a crispy batter. The sauce was really spicy which I loved and it went great with their house made pickles! Rice was perfectly cooked and soaked up all the sauce. I also got a side of their kimchi and it was good not as spicy as I like my kimchi but it had a good brine and crisp flavor and was a perfect combination with the spicy chicken.

Overall I will be coming back and am very happy that they’re a quick walk from my job!“

“The signature dish is the crab in sauce, which comes in medium and large sizes. medium is two crabs with two bowls of rice, and large is three crabs. Compared with other Korean restaurants, the sauce crab taste is mild, and it will not be salty enough to explode in the middle of the meal and cannot continue to eat. The crab is fresh, not fishy, and the meat is firm, not squishy. The crab meat is also very full, the crab legs are full, there is no empty shell crab. The sea urchin rice is a little smaller but the sea urchin is enough. regular sea urchins are not particularly sweet, but they are fresh and worth the price. The sea urchin Rice bowl combo will be served with steamed eggs, runny eggs and two prawns in sauce. Raw marinated salmon rice is amazing to me. The salmon is marinated just enough to be flavorful, but not overly salty. The portions are generous. You can eat two bites of each piece of salmon.“

“My go to restaurant in Ktown, arguably the best restaurant in ktown. They only serve 2 dishes and they excel in these two, sul lung tang and suyuk but they are some of the best versions of them. The staff is friendly, decent parking in the back, incredible food, everything you need to have a great time in Ktown! If you need a sul lung tang spot in Ktown, Han Bat is worth all the hype!“

The venue was huge, fitting people in big group hence you would see different kinds of groups from family to students.

They easily got busy at peak dining hours, but the waiting time was very decent, also because the turnaround was relatively quicky.

We got their pork bulgogi combo, taking the medium-spicy tofu soup. Loved how luscious everything on the table was, especially how rich the appetizers variety was.“

“The best quality Korean BBQ I've ever had! We had the butcher's pride 1 and it was the perfect amount of food for two people. It includes short ribs, finger meat, wagyu, and marinated short ribs. There are also numerous side dishes from kimchi to green onion jeon. You may also ask for rice if you'd like some to go with the marinaded short ribs.

With tax and tips, we ended up paying about $100 per person. Is it on the pricey end? Yes. Is it overpriced? Slightly. Is it a good food experience? It was. Would I come back again? Depends on who I'm with.“

“Great AYCE KBBQ spot in K-town, close to skincare and perfume stores! I was looking some place to eat solo where I could eat a variety of dishes, and this was the perfect spot! They have a buffet that's basically self-service, including the meat.

The marinated galbi and spicy pork belly were my favorite. The essential AYCE option is perfect honestly. Unless you're wanting fancy meats, I feel like it included everything you'd expect at kbbq. Oh and the dipping sauces were very tasty!“

“The best AYCE Korean bbq restaurant. Meat quality is top-notch. They grill the meat for you but still allow you to enjoy the food at your own speed. I tried almost every meat and my favorite is the marinated beef rib with bone. It melted in my mouth. I love it and will come back.👍🏻“

“For the quality, taste, price, and portions, you can’t find a lot of places better than Soowon Galbi. We got the Combo D (Unseasoned Prime Short Rib, Soowon Galbi, Prime Rib Eye Steak, Kkot Sal, Joo Mul Luk, Chadol, Bulgogi), which was filling even for 7 people! I usually don’t love non-marinated meats in KBBQ but tell me why the ones here were so tasty.

The servers were friendly and cooked the meats very nicely for us. I liked the Seafood Pancake, Galbitang, and complementary soups, though the Jap Chae was not my favorite. They were very generous with the rice, too.“

“My favorite Korean barbecue in Los Angeles. All the side dishes are fantastic and there is so much variety you can tell they really thought it through! The meat quality is also fantastic. Their marinated galbi is my favorite beef in the world. If all of that is not enough, it is also the only Korean barbecue place that cares enough about the customers that they have a ventilated stove so you don’t smell like Korean barbecue walking out of this restaurant it’s amazing.“

“Fantastic Korean food I brought a group of guys for a bachelor party here because many of us like high-quality street food and are more interested in the food than the atmosphere. It was perfect. A couple of the guys, who have lived abroad in Asia, said the spicy pork tacos were phenomenal. I loved the Bulgogi bowl. The service was great too! I sent a text to the owner the day before to see if they would be open the next day and because I mentioned it was for a bachelor party they made sure there was a large table set up for us in the shade. Even the little space on the sidewalk was fun. I highly recommend!“

“I love this place! I used to live nearby and i stumbled in right at opening time my first day. they have a wait if you're going at popular times. Small strip mall parking.

wow, i became a loyal fan of the cheonggukjang, which i never had before. The owner is kind, and it feels like we're being taken care of like I'm at their home.

i am not korean, and especially at that early time 10 years ago I was often the only non-korean... but when they saw me eating cheonggukjang not bbq, i got some nods of approval 🤣 One korean man came up to my table after i ate once and asked me how i know this soup because it's controversial with even koreans.

But i loveeee fermented foods. and honestly, anytime i was sick this soup made me better in a day. I miss living so close to it, i have to make special trips to go now.

“Located in the heart of Los Angeles’ Koreatown is a military bunker known as Dan Sung Sa. But instead of sheltering soldiers, it hosts tables of drinkers like you and me, sharing kettles of soju and kimchi stew.

To be honest, I mostly come here for the vibe. And to be fair, it’s a really good vibe. Stepping inside, you really feel immersed in the atmosphere. Even if the sun is blazing outside at 4pm, the inside of Dan Sung Sa feels locked at a constant hour of the night.

You have to get a kettle of soju cocktail. They have two flavors - yogurt and lemon. I won’t tell you which one to get. If you ask me, I’d tell you to get both. You can finish it haha… The yogurt is creamy and tangy - basically Yakult. And the lemon is bright and refreshing. There’s no sting of alcohol, so it’ll go down dangerously delicious.

The best thing to get here are the pork belly skewers. We always order so many they don’t even put them on the skewers and just plop them in a pile on a plate haha.. They don’t have budae jjigae though. Isn’t that weird? I swearrrrr they used to… doesn’t it seem like the kind of place that would have it? But they don’t lol. They have kimchi jjigae though (which is maybe what I was remembering). The menu is mostly small bites or anju like that - stuff designed to go well with alcohol.

The wait for this place can be pretty long, but they are open until 2am. I’ve come here on bar hops as well as late night after a concert. Dan Sung Sa is the perfect place to either start your night or end it.“
