“This is like your Korean friends mom’s kitchen. Very homey feel. Delicious food. Everything I’ve tried has been good. Most authentic Korean food in the valley. Big fan. Their potato and cucumber banchan is next level, I wish they could let me order just those two in a big container.“

“Love Jo&Go Sushi. They saved me when we first moved to LA and while the house was being remodeled.

4 years later... it's still as good as first discovered. It's a neighborhood gem inside the Korean Greenland Mrkt, which btw, is also awesome.

Must try is the salmon bowl, the salmon slices are so tender and buttery... they give you a crazy amount of salmon over the rice and seriously it's enough to have a 2nd meal! One note about the bowl... I'm not a fan of drenching really good cooked rice with sauce, so I always order without the sauce. The rice is not sushi rice which makes it even more delicious... the rice is always perfectly cooked. You get a miso soup and a cute little container of pickled radish (delish). I would love to know where they source the fish... it's like being in Japan, it's so fresh.

“Just wanted to share that Brian, our waiter was super kind. He was so present with our needs, constantly came by to check on us and even told us to get home safely after leaving. You can tell when people are on autopilot sometimes but we felt like people (there were 8 of us) and it felt like he was serving just us, even with lots of people here. (It was dinner time on Saturday).

The staff was good but shout out to our server Brian. We can tell you do things with love. :)

“The signature dish is the crab in sauce, which comes in medium and large sizes. medium is two crabs with two bowls of rice, and large is three crabs. Compared with other Korean restaurants, the sauce crab taste is mild, and it will not be salty enough to explode in the middle of the meal and cannot continue to eat. The crab is fresh, not fishy, and the meat is firm, not squishy. The crab meat is also very full, the crab legs are full, there is no empty shell crab. The sea urchin rice is a little smaller but the sea urchin is enough. regular sea urchins are not particularly sweet, but they are fresh and worth the price. The sea urchin Rice bowl combo will be served with steamed eggs, runny eggs and two prawns in sauce. Raw marinated salmon rice is amazing to me. The salmon is marinated just enough to be flavorful, but not overly salty. The portions are generous. You can eat two bites of each piece of salmon.“

“A small place tucked away in a plaza. The restaurant was quiet with regulars that chatted with the staff. I got dumpling soup. I chose the combo option for kimchi and beef dumplings. We also got sujebi with sweet pumpkin dough flakes. The dumpling soup was very flavorful and had many toppings, including egg, seaweed shreds, and green onion. The amount was quite good for its price. The sujebi was very rich and starchy. The banchan was good as well.“

“At a glance, it looks like a mini mart. Don’t let the smell of Noah’s Bagels distract you. This place has legit kimbap with the golden ratio of meat, veggies, to rice. $11. The bulgogi marinade had perfect sweetness with the crunch from all the veggies. Then the Ttukbokgi in the hot section $7 had that street vendor flavor that only ahjummas can replicate, and thickness to the sauce that coats the ttuk just right. I even dunked my kimbap (see photo) to make sure I didn’t leave any sauce in the bowl.“

“It's a cool place to enjoy Korean sashimi with different sorts of soups and spicy Korean chowder. They serve Soju, which is a Korean rice alcohol & beers 🍻 as well. The services are really good. The waiters and the waitresses are very nice. It's little expensive, but it's worth it. Gotta check it out!“

“Western Doma Noodles is a must try! A cozy restaurant with homey charm all due to the lovely and hard working women running the shop. Truly feels like eating at your mom/grandma’s dining room. Their specialty is the knife cut noodles that really warms the soul. The star of the show at our table was the braised black cod! I dream about this dish and its satisfying rich flavor. The cod is so tender and the dish includes tofu and a variety of vegetables that all add to the depth of flavor in this dish with the perfect amount of spice. All our other dishes were also superb. You really cannot go wrong. The portions are generous as well!

“Pork and kimchi dish was the star for me. The staff was friendly and very helpful to get our orders in. We were the first group there for dinner. If you have people with big appetites, maybe order the fried rice because rice and banchan is not included. My brother had asked me before driving there. I looked up Butnal on Google maps and thought, surely banchan comes with every order! They did not offer it. So that was disappointing.

I would not recommend the fried chicken dishes for a group because it was advised that the serving size is for 2 people but I felt like it was only good for 1. The first bite my brother had was mostly batter, he forgot that it was a chicken dish. I wish we ordered the Spicy squid or Pancakes instead 😅

It was a farewell family dinner so I wanted it to be a hit! But maybe this is more casual option- like if you were getting something with friends before a concert. I guess street food means it is on the lighter side.“

The fried chicken sandwich was a standout. Juicy, tender, full of flavor, and balanced perfectly with honey butter and light mayo. The bibimbap was also clean and comforting, no strange flavors, just solid balance. But the portion was small. I got both dishes thinking I’d have lunch and dinner, and ended up finishing the bibimbap quickly because there weren’t enough vegetables to round it out. For a dish that usually shines because of its mix and volume, that part felt underwhelming.

The meal came to $35.01 for take out, which isn’t bad for the quality, but the value didn’t fully match the flavor. A little more generosity with the portions, especially the vegetables or the slaw in the sandwich, would make a real difference. “It is your typical mom and pop's Korean soup joint. The atmosphere is like a cafeteria filled with photos of the past, simple and clean. It has a small menu, but the soup base is amazing. The beef broth has tremendous amount of flavor, clean, rich, the beef and tendons are succulent. The soup is not seasoned (salted) so you can taste the original beef flavor, and you can add the salt as you like it. The simple meal for two is about $50. It was a great find for us.“

“Korean spot in Koreatown that lives up to its name — 장터 (jangteo) means traditional open-air marketplace, and the menu is built for communal, generous portions. The 모듬보쌈 (assorted bossam platter) is the order: pork belly, jokbal (족발), head meat, and 순대 (Korean blood sausage) on one tray, served with pickled-radish discs and napa cabbage so you build your own wraps. The 미나리전 (water parsley pancake) is surprisingly light — herb-forward, not oily — and the 떡볶이 was solid. The banchan grid alone is worth stopping in for.
