“I've been going to Maria'a since I was a kid. My parents, when they arrived to the US from Mexico would go there and so did my aunts and uncles and cousins. Now I take my kids to eat there. The restaurant has always been the same with great quality food and great service. Maria's restaurant is a gem in the community and will hopefully be there for many more generations. Don't sleep on this place, give it a try.“

“The food is really good and cheap, plus its a really good portion of it. The atmosphere is pretty welcoming and feels good to be there. The most remarkable thing its the service, it is a really nice and good service in every way, best service I've had so far and will definitely go back.“

“I have came to this place since the day they barely opened up. I don't live in Huntington Park. I usually get their Salmon Bowl and on rare occasions, Miso Ramen.
The times I have gotten the Salmon Bowl, I have received good portions (enough rice and great Salmon pieces) but sometimes I would receive small Salmon pieces to the point where I have to pay extra for another piece. I do not mind paying extra pieces but portions MUST always stay consistent. The picture shown below, that day, I paid for an extra piece but I didn't know I was going to get regular size piece. I do not regret it. But portions have to be consistent. I still go to Akai every weekend for the Salmon Bowl and I will keep spending my money with this business.“

“Amazing food. Plate licking sauces, organic,locally sourced food. Korean fusion. Did I mention organic pickled everything. Enzyme rich food. Beyond healthy. Humble little hope in the wall run by a husband and wife team. Dude went to Korea to study with the most famous vegan nun chef in Korea. A must go to for anyone who loves food and especially loves fusion with organic and very well priced. He should charge Much more but they don’t.“

“The signature dish is the crab in sauce, which comes in medium and large sizes. medium is two crabs with two bowls of rice, and large is three crabs. Compared with other Korean restaurants, the sauce crab taste is mild, and it will not be salty enough to explode in the middle of the meal and cannot continue to eat. The crab is fresh, not fishy, and the meat is firm, not squishy. The crab meat is also very full, the crab legs are full, there is no empty shell crab. The sea urchin rice is a little smaller but the sea urchin is enough. regular sea urchins are not particularly sweet, but they are fresh and worth the price. The sea urchin Rice bowl combo will be served with steamed eggs, runny eggs and two prawns in sauce. Raw marinated salmon rice is amazing to me. The salmon is marinated just enough to be flavorful, but not overly salty. The portions are generous. You can eat two bites of each piece of salmon.“

“Hardly a wait before 1pm 5-10. The entrance of the place is where the parking lot is, not on the corner of 5th street were I entered from 😅 they are very quick at clearing tables to let in more guests for dine in.

Ordered the brisket and it was delicious. Light and flavorful. Like others have stated, add your green onions and salt pepper or chili to your liking. Their radish and kimchi banchan were fresh and flavorful, my favorite being the radish! The milky smooth bone broth tasted delicious. Not heavy at all and so comforting!“

“The best quality Korean BBQ I've ever had! We had the butcher's pride 1 and it was the perfect amount of food for two people. It includes short ribs, finger meat, wagyu, and marinated short ribs. There are also numerous side dishes from kimchi to green onion jeon. You may also ask for rice if you'd like some to go with the marinaded short ribs.

With tax and tips, we ended up paying about $100 per person. Is it on the pricey end? Yes. Is it overpriced? Slightly. Is it a good food experience? It was. Would I come back again? Depends on who I'm with.“

“Amazing experience at Corner Place! I forgot to ask for our server’s name, but all of the ajummas (아줌마) working there were incredibly kind and welcoming. The food was amazing and there was SO much of it!

Our server kept taking care of us throughout meal, bringing us more food, cutting things for us, and getting everything ready so we could just eat and enjoy. It really felt like being taken care of by Korean aunties. 😂❤“

“The best AYCE Korean bbq restaurant. Meat quality is top-notch. They grill the meat for you but still allow you to enjoy the food at your own speed. I tried almost every meat and my favorite is the marinated beef rib with bone. It melted in my mouth. I love it and will come back.👍🏻“

“For the quality, taste, price, and portions, you can’t find a lot of places better than Soowon Galbi. We got the Combo D (Unseasoned Prime Short Rib, Soowon Galbi, Prime Rib Eye Steak, Kkot Sal, Joo Mul Luk, Chadol, Bulgogi), which was filling even for 7 people! I usually don’t love non-marinated meats in KBBQ but tell me why the ones here were so tasty.

The servers were friendly and cooked the meats very nicely for us. I liked the Seafood Pancake, Galbitang, and complementary soups, though the Jap Chae was not my favorite. They were very generous with the rice, too.“

“Absolutely phenomenal duck KBBQ. Never had duck for KBBQ and it was decadent. All of the ducks cooks and smothered in duck fat and in the garlic. At the end they made fried rice with banchan and duck fat. It was heavenly. It was perfect for a large group of 10 with their semi-private dining in the back. A must try.“

“I love this place! I used to live nearby and i stumbled in right at opening time my first day. they have a wait if you're going at popular times. Small strip mall parking.

wow, i became a loyal fan of the cheonggukjang, which i never had before. The owner is kind, and it feels like we're being taken care of like I'm at their home.

i am not korean, and especially at that early time 10 years ago I was often the only non-korean... but when they saw me eating cheonggukjang not bbq, i got some nods of approval 🤣 One korean man came up to my table after i ate once and asked me how i know this soup because it's controversial with even koreans.

But i loveeee fermented foods. and honestly, anytime i was sick this soup made me better in a day. I miss living so close to it, i have to make special trips to go now.

“This place is a hidden gem! The menu is very small (5 options as of right now) and they have clearly perfected their food. I never had mudfish before, and I was curious to try it. The server patiently explained to me and my party how to eat it and it was so delicious! The mudfish Korean BBQ, banchan, and kimchi were also very yummy. The server was very polite and attentive, coming over to refill the water cups and banchan. I would definitely come back!“

Their marinated galbi is my favorite beef in the world.
