Lal Mirch is one of my favorite Studio City neighborhood spots. I discovered it about six months ago and I’ve been going almost every week since. The food is outstanding every time. The fish tandoori has become one of my favorite dishes anywhere, which is incredibly flavorful and tender with a little crispiness on the edges (yum!). The saag paneer is another favorite - rich, delicious, and so satisfying. I like to also try new items from the menu and everything has been excellent.
Not only is the food delicious, but also the team here is warm, welcoming, and always a pleasure to see. It is the kind of place that has quickly become familiar and comfortable.
I recently noticed they also do catering so I decided to have them cater for my annual holiday party and it was a huge success. The food was packed carefully, it traveled well, and everyone loved it. They even helped load everything into my car, which made the whole process so easy. I will definitely be using them to cater again whenever the next occasion comes up.
I love this place and highly recommend it.

I’ve enjoyed eating at the restaurant a few times and they go above and beyond to make you feel like family. Abu is one of the many standout staff members who kindly gave us some rice pudding and tea—these will definitely be part of our order moving forward! My boyfriend and I love coming here. The food is always delicious and fresh. The service and great. Shout out to Abu on the waitstaff. He recognizes previous customers which always adds a homey feel. They will never rush you even when busy. We always order lots of food so we have leftovers :) stand out dishes are the chicken korma, naan bread with garlic, and the chicken samosas. Always ask the waitstaff if you wanna try something new!

Best Indian in LA hands down!!! I am VERY picky about my food and very rarely repeat restaurants (you wanna try everything you know?) but I’ve been here at least 4 times now. The service is incredible and they are super kind and often treat us to dessert or tea or sometimes something new on the menu or something they want us to try (shout out to Abu!). They are just clearly passionate about what they do here and have a lot of pride in what they’ve accomplished. 10/10 would recommend. Bring all your friends here and anyone you have visiting in town!

My family and I are obsessed with this spot or Indian food! Lal Mirch has become our go-to for the past couple of years—it never disappoints with their magnificent service and romantic atmosphere in the restaurant. We usually order for to-go, but our last experience with Abu solidified how tough it is to try other Indian restaurants elsewhere.
We got the chicken tikka, chicken tikka masala, paratha, tandoori roti, chicken korma, fish madras, and saag paneer along with white biryani and all the extra condiments like chutneys and yogurt. It was super tough to decide what was our favorites! Everything was perfectly flavored and spiced (ordered medium, but you can play it safe with mild). This time, we realized that the fish madras is going to be a new favorite! The fish and tomatoes are sublimely cooked whereas the sauce is not too heavy but it’s zingy and flavorful. Even with being fully satiated, we brought home more than plenty of leftovers.
Lastly, I can’t emphasize the service enough. The food came out quickly and Abu was the sweetest and provided us with the utmost care. He always offered requests for more food, drinks, sauces, and desserts—trust that you’ll have the best dine-in experience with him and his team!!
