I found this Restaurant by accident while driving through the mini mall near Ventura and Coldwater Canyon. My wife demanded that we stop and try it. The inside looked clean and well lit. Small tables and chairs in the dining area accommodate a couple dozen guests.
There's a good menu with something for everyone. Complimentary Chicken Soup is the starter and is very good. Excellent Mexican style food, not salty. Friendly service and sensible prices make this a place to come back to. Highly recommended. Parking is limited.

Very tasty family owned restaurant on Ventura! The staff are very sweet and make you feel right at home. I've been twice now and had the heuvos rancheros and Sofia's enchiladas. Both were excellent. The dishes are also reasonably priced which is refreshing in this part of the valley. Highly recommend :)

In LA from out of town. Thank you google for directing me to this little gem for breakfast. Not fancy. Homey. Clean. Really wonderful waitress. Really good food. I liked the music to boot.

Amazing food and hospitality. We felt like family! Our 6 picky kids were all happy with their food, which is rare. Food was fresh and tasty, great flavors. Wish we weren’t just passing through town, we’d be regulars! Highly recommend.

One of the best plates of huevos rancheros I’ve ever had. Staff was friendly, restaurant was clean and the food was fantastic. The portions are large and packed with even more flavor. Very authentic Mexican food. I would become a regular here if I lived in LA.

This place is a true gem. We came early morning around 9am for a hearty breakfast. We were warmly greeted and sat as soon as we entered. The dining area is cozy and clean.

What makes this spot a valley treasure, though, is the FOOD. There are dozens of cafes in the valley that serve breakfast and Mexican classics, but the difference at Sofia’s Kitchen is the quality of the ingredients and preparation. I ordered Chilaquiles with egg and avocado. The avocado was the most perfect avocado I’ve ever been served, not over or under ripe, and a generous portion. The egg was perfectly cooked. The chips were perfectly crispy and not burnt. The crema was fluffy and delicious. The sauce was well seasoned and not too bland or salty, just right. There weren’t too little or too many onions.

My husband ordered Sofia’s Sandwich, which was so good he ordered a second one to take home for later. The potato wedges were so delicious and crispy. I feel like most cafes undercook their wedges because they’re just an afterthought, but not here.

My daughter’s scrambled eggs were perfectly fluffy and not overcooked. My husband’s orange juice was freshly squeezed after he ordered it, and he said even the coffee was good! You know it’s good when they can get just a plain cup of coffee right. We left feeling satisfied but not heavy.

You can just tell this place truly cares about what they do. I highly recommend.

This place is amazing! Our server took great care of us. The breakfast food and Mexican food were both perfect and fairly priced. Best new hidden gem we’ve found in LA so far!
