I recently had the pleasure of dining at this Italian restaurant, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and charming—perfect for a relaxed dinner or a special night out. The décor and ambiance immediately gave off authentic Italian vibes, making the experience feel genuine and cozy.
The menu is extensive and full of traditional Italian dishes, from fresh pastas and risottos to wood-fired pizzas and classic entrees. I tried several dishes, including homemade pasta and a perfectly baked pizza, and every bite was outstanding. The flavors were rich, fresh, and authentic, with perfectly balanced sauces, fresh herbs, and quality ingredients. You could really taste the care and attention put into each dish.
The portion sizes were generous, and the presentation of the food was beautiful. From the appetizers to the desserts, everything was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. I particularly loved the tiramisu for dessert—it was creamy, perfectly sweet, and a delightful end to the meal.
The staff was exceptional—friendly, professional, and attentive without being intrusive. They were happy to offer recommendations, answer questions, and make sure our dining experience was top-notch. Service was timely, and everything arrived just as we ordered.
The restaurant itself is clean, comfortable, and has a welcoming vibe. Whether you’re coming for a casual meal, a family dinner, or a special occasion, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy authentic Italian food. Prices are reasonable considering the quality and portion sizes, making it excellent value.
Overall, this Italian restaurant delivers an outstanding dining experience—authentic flavors, generous portions, friendly service, and a cozy, inviting atmosphere. If you love Italian cuisine or are looking for a great spot for a memorable meal, this place is a must-visit. I will definitely be returning and recommending it to friends and family!

The wait for Uovo can get quite long on the weekends, but we sat relatively quickly on a Thursday night. Upon check in, I bonded a bit with the kind host over the fact that our names were both Cody. He shared a couple of his favorite lines over the penguin movie “Surf’s Up” (also starring Cody) and called us back to sit in about 15 minutes. The bar’s not exactly the most comfortable place to sit. On this particular night, I was seated next to what seemed to be a little boy and his nanny who were causing me to feel a bit cramped as the little bugger left his bottle of Sprite right in front of me and neither of the two deemed it appropriate to move it 3 inches to the left. Unfortunately, bar seating takes up the majority of the restaurant, and if you’d like to sit at one of the 4 tables they have, it’s gonna be a significantly longer wait.
The carbonara was delicious, made with pasta imported from Italy and traditional, authentic smoky bits of guanciale. The tiramisu is a must. It might be the best tiramisu I’ve ever had. Rich, creamy, and totally indulgent. In the moody, dim lighting of the restaurant, if I closed my eyes, I could disappear into the symphony of flavors and almost (but not completely) tune out the little brat seated next to me screaming CACIO E PEPE every time I said it. Speaking of which, the cacio e pepe was also very good. The noodles were a perfect al dente, and though the recipe was simple, the execution was well done.
Though my night was not as peaceful as I would’ve liked, I still thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Unfortunately, this restaurant isn’t really built for guests to sit and savor. The bar seating, although trendy and modern, feels a bit industrial and claustrophobic, designed for people to come, eat quickly, and leave as opposed to dine. Regardless, the food is phenomenal.

Really friendly service and delicious food every time. Walk-ins only, no reservations taken so come early and be prepared to wait if needed. Sit at the bar instead of a table if you can, it’s such a treat to watch the chefs. Bring your reading glasses- low light. Perfect for locals and visitors to LA, very affordable for nowadays.

I happened upon UOVO on an early Sunday evening . The eatery was busy . I was solo and opted to sit at the bar where I could see the food prepared. Tate the young host was fantastic and attentive. He immediately found me a spot . The service is excellent ! Lovely Isabella was our server! The menu is fresh pasta overnighted from Italy. I chose cacio e pepe and carbonara. The place is convivial and homey like in Rome. I will return to try other pastas and wine .

I had never heard of this place, but my friend suggested we try it. I am going to cut to the chase. The food we had was so good. Just eat here. Let me say that again. The food was banging.
We ended up doing the tasting menu and went with the classic option. The food was absolutely delicious. There was not a single miss in anything we tried. For once, I felt like there was enough food for both of us, though I could have easily eaten more. I am someone who can inhale pasta, and I would have loved larger portions. So if you are not sure what to order and you want pasta, I definitely recommend the tasting menu. It is only enough for two people, though, so keep that in mind. I wish the serving sizes were a little bigger, but I also have a big appetite, so take that with a grain of salt.
I do not usually eat tiramisu, but theirs was really good. There is also an ice cream spot in the same plaza, so if you are not in the mood for tiramisu or other desserts, you can grab ice cream instead. I think there is an Erewhon nearby too.
Now for the part that could be a hit or miss depending on your vibe and hunger level. They do not take reservations. It is first come, first served. I do not necessarily mind that, but my friend and I are always running late, and she could not be seated until I arrived.
Another thing is that there was not much table seating available, so we had to sit at the bar. If you are someone who carries a large bag or just does not like bar seating, this might not be ideal unless you can snag a table. Even the tables themselves did not look that spacious. I will say the bar had hooks for handbags, which was nice, but if you have a big one, it will still be tricky.
My friend and I had gifts for each other, and finding a place to put them was tough. Our knees kept hitting them, or we had to set them on the floor. Sitting at the bar also meant we were pretty cramped, so we kept bumping into the people next to us. I had to keep apologizing, but thankfully everyone around us was really nice about it. The space between people is just tight, so if you are taller or have a broader build and do not like close contact, you might want to wait for a table or mentally prepare for tight quarters.
The lighting is another thing. It is very dark inside, to the point that people were pulling out their phones just to read the menu. You do not want to shine a bright light and interrupt someone’s dinner, but it was definitely hard to see.
If you are going on a first date, I actually think it is a great spot, especially if you are not feeling your most confident that day because the lighting is forgiving. But if you are going on a date with someone you already know or just meeting up with friends, be aware that it is dark and loud inside.
We went on a Friday, and the volume level was high. My friend and I had to lean in really close just to hear each other.
Now for the positives. The food was incredible. The staff was super friendly. The vibe and aesthetic were great. The only drawbacks were the seating, lighting, and noise level, which affect the overall dining experience.
Even with those small issues, I would absolutely go back again. Honestly, I might just order to-go next time because the food was really, really good.
