SBC is a coastal classic beloved by many. Our first visit, on a busy fathers day, was a very nice experience. The Ham Benedict and waffles were both good. The server was crisp with her service and refills. The dinning room is an eclectic mix of cozy diner and run down farm house. The space has been well loved and well worn for many years. We're told they make a good burger, so we will return.
This place is definitely worth the drive. I live in Santa Barbara, and there are many breakfast places, few have the charm, location (coastal zone with lots of outside seating) and food variety of the Summer land Beach Cafe. Food is consistently good, but lacks the sophisticated presentation and seasoning of high end restaurants, also lacks the high prices that go with it. Instead, service is solid whether inside or out, variety is wide and reliable.

We are locals and really love this place. The seating is tight and the place really packs in on the weekend, but the food is hot and fresh and the crew works super hard to take care of guests. If you order biscuits and gravy, get a side of sausage patties to go with. Omelets rock!
