We placed an order via their website app, doordash as they did not answer their phone for 5 pizzas on Halloween. The pickup time given was 5:15pm. When we arrived to pick them up, they said the pizzas wouldn't be ready for another hour and 15 minutes because they were busy. With 5 families with little kids waiting to eat and go trick or treating, this wasn't a good answer. They blamed doordash and said we should have received an email which we didn't. The pick up time on my doordash app still said 5:15 to pick up. Ridiculous!!! If they don't want upset customers, they need to do a better job of customer service. Will never return and we live in the neighborhood.

2nd-best NY-style pizza in the Bay area, 3rd best in CA, #1 being Colosseum in San Jose and #2 being Mulberry Street in SoCal (particularly the one in the Valley over the one in Beverly Hills; the one in Vegas is also not as good as the CA locations).
I also liked being able to buy dough balls during quarantine. I have also eaten in and gotten to-go a lot over the years too.
This location loses a star for only being open 3 days a week*; ASONY's other location loses a star for the parking situation and the general crowdedness of the Santana Row area, though I prefer that location's pizza by a smidge, possibly because it's busier and has more turnover so the slices are fresher (though that doesn't explain why whole pies there are better, too - maybe it's the ovens). The only reason I come to this one at all is that it's closer than Colosseum and the other ASONY. But I come here a lot less now because every time I want to come here I realize "Dang, they're not open today." Plus Colosseum's flavor and texture are closer to the pizza of my childhood/misspent youth in NY.
*I understand that it's hard to hire enough staff these days but that doesn't change the reality that I unfortunately tend to forget about restaurants/stores with limited hours... and the fact that I prefer Colosseum enough to drive out to SJ even though this ASONY is practically in my backyard. But we need more good NY pizza on this coast, not less, so please patronize any one of these shops - or all 3, as I do!

My pizza could use more oven time. It was still OK.

NY isn't even my favorite pizza style overall, but ASONY nails it.

Stopped by today with my husband for a late birthday lunch. It was our first time here and it was worth waiting till 3pm. Very authentic NY pizza, absolutely delicious. Toppings are fresh and tasty, crust is perfection! We will definitely be back soon!

One of my favorite local stops. Good thing it's not in walking distance, else I'd be here way too much (but it's close enough to be here a few times a month).

Superb NY style slices in this area. Order a margherita slice with pepperoni..the best. My kid loves their mushroom slice. We lived in New york for many years and this is our go to for that pizza fix now. Highly recommended for authentic NY pizza.
Request to management: Truffle mushroom pizza would be a great addition!

The plain (cheese) pizza is legit! Actually pretty close to NYC places, and gets the NY fold which for some reason no one in California can seem to figure out.
The Margarita pie is weird, no mozzarella and (wait for it) garlic slices? Guys, a real Margarita pie has three toppings: tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil — representing the red, white and green of the Italian flag (il Tricolore). You can’t remove one of those key ingredients and still call it a Margarita, and you certainly can’t go adding garlic.
I was going to deduct a star for this flagrant violation of east coast Italian-American culture, BUT the people working here were so nice to our kids I decided to round up
Great NY style pizza! I ordered the big pizza and got 4 meals out of it. Definitely good value!
