I came here on a Saturday around 11:30 for an early lunch. I ordered the Thali - I simply loved it. The variety of food was staggering - ridge gourds curry, plantain curry etc were new to me in a thaali. Other restaurants typically offer the same fare - carrot/beans, aloo etc Contents of Thali- rice, choice of Poori/chappathi, dal (yum!), ridgeourd curry, plantain curry, sambhar, rasam (refreshing!), 2 types of pakoda and frymes. Helps that it was unlimited. The food was also not too spicy and most of it can be served to a baby. The restaurant ambience was also nice. Love the paintings and clean space. The wait staff were also so pleasing and nice and served every item with a smile. I really loved this place and cannot recommend it enough

Very mediocre food.. both in terms of taste and quality. Dosa was crispy, but something seemed off.. chutneys were ok, but definitely not spectacular.

They never pick pone. How can I order if thy don't phone? What kind of business refuses client orders? They don't make delicious food twice a day. But make zero money. They throw so much food without getting money for it Since for 30 minutes i called. They don't pick phone. Or thy hang up saying "dont call" Now I am placing order with Madras food court. Madras food court is tastier and cheaper. UGADI does not want our business.

Thank you for the most delicious, nourishing, home-cooked style bhojanam thalis. The restaurant has gone through various phases over the years, and currently, the food is as top notch delicious as when it had originally opened.Thank you for doing what you do!

I had high expectations from this place ,I love South Indian dosa and thali both .me and my husband decided to get 2 thali !1 with dosa idli and sweet and the other one which comes with rice ,roti and curries ,both the thalis were terrible ,cold food which felt like its a left over and sweet was sheera (halwa ) that was dried and sambar was nothing but just tangy .after ever bite of dosa I wanted water .my worst experience ever I'll never visit this place . I wanted to complain about the food to the staff but there was this old lady who was serving us and I did not feel like bothering her ,but I did ask her about sambar she said I don't know chefs knows it. Me and my husband did not eat packed everything and just left .

This restaurant at its core is a typical South Indian eatery. Their weekday Bhojan Thalis are noteworthy and offer a satisfying meal that can easily fill one's stomach for the day. The service is provided by an elderly man who is competent and able to handle the responsibilities of the job. While this restaurant may not be exceptional in terms of atmosphere or decor, it is a reliable choice for those seeking South Indian cuisine. The Bhojan Thalis are the highlight of the menu and provide a generous portion size at an affordable price point.Overall, if you're looking for a no-frills South Indian restaurant with hearty portions and dependable service, this establishment is worth checking out.

Very poor taste . We ordered unlimited bhojanam, they served very cold food . sambar, rasam and side dishes tasted very very poor and just oily . Also service is very poor we asked water so many times they don't bother to serve water second time . Thali price is less but considering poor service and taste you will feel it's not worth it .

Ordered by phone. Showed up to find they have no record of the order. Also almost everything is out.On the other hand-- food was good, cheap, and fast.

This place has awesome homely south indian food. There is enough parking outside and ambiance is descent too.

Service has always been below par. They take 40-45 min to serve Thalis. Dosas are soft and soggy , not crisp. Contrary to the name there are no classic south Indian dishes. Standard boring fare.

The food is good. The prices are great. ( 2 unlimited Thalis for $26)Service is fast and friendly.First things first, the food. The thali came with Bhindi Kurkure, Fry, Chole, Saag, Dal, Sambar, Rasam, Chutney, Lemon rice, Yogurt, and the star of the show 2 hot, freshly made pooris. The food is on the tart side and I really loved it. It's just very simple vegetarian food. Of course, the simplicity didn't stop me from pigging out.I was a bit taken aback when the total came out to $26 for the two thalis and they didn't even give me a chance to tip them. This makes it the most reasonably priced place. The only thing negative about the place is that it needs a deep cleaning. They got the tough part, the food, right... a deep cleaning of the place will fix everything wrong( ...and that's very little) with the place.

It doesn't look like much and the atmosphere is below average, but the food is good and they're super accommodating of vegans!

They have good food but are very limited in staffing and resources. They run of items on the menu very quickly so make sure to go early. The general restaurant and the restroom could really use some good cleaning and paint job.

The place itself is not appealing from the outside, but the food is good and so are the prices. They are very accommodating to vegans as well. If you like spicy, try the gongura dosa.

Great, healthy food! Went there on a Sunday afternoon and ordered Ugadi special bhojanam. All the items in the thali were yummy and perfect. This is one of the best South Indian restaurants in the bay area! Highly recommend!
