It’s a Wednesday around 11 AM. I just Had dental work done I’m craving some soup. I stopped by Boudin For some clam chowder. But not in a bread bowl I wish but they accommodated me with some soft sourdough bread and I got hot tea to go It was delicious. The service was great. I love how they accommodated me and after I ate, I felt fast asleep, warm and cozy with my belly full. ☺️

Ordered take-out, got the wrong order. Received 2 of the same sandwich when receipt clearly shows 2 different ones were ordered. No one picks up their phone number, called multiple times.

Great food and nice atmosphere. The menu is also Jain-friendly. 2 soups are Jain (no onion, no garlic): Tomato soup and butternut squash soup. You can also order the Caprese with balsamic vinaigrette instead of the pesto, and add avocado and lettuce.

Don’t order online and expect the order to be ready. It takes them double the time to complete the order. Lady is rude at the front. My food sat getting cold while they made the shakes. Then when the milkshakes were done it was like milk in a cup. Not sure if the a milkshake should be thick or not. So I asked does this look right she said we are trying to make them. I asked doesn’t quality matter and she said I will make them again. At this point it is almost an hour since I placed my order. They are complaining because they had to make all these shakes. There were my three and six other ones. Not sure the staff can handle any volume. They need retrained. I wish I didn’t order online so I could get my money back. My food is now cold and my drinks are still watery.

I absolutely loved the food and the delicious tomato soup served in bread. The vegetarian Catalan sandwich was also quite nice.
I didn’t catch the names of the staff members, but both ladies who worked this morning were incredibly helpful and provided excellent service.

Tend to order on DoorDash, but whether you order delivery or in-person, food is always late to come out from the store. They don’t have enough employees to staff their orders, and Dasher or whoever has to wait forever. They refuse to do anything about it, hang up on you, etc.

Bread is great. It's nice that there is a separate libe/register for purchasing bread so it isn't competing with the lunch sandwich orders.

Bad experience! Boudin now covers their metal serving containers in flimsy plastic bags. I ordered tomato soup and that came from metal heated container with the plastic bags inside where hot food is served from. It is carcinogenic and unhealthy to have plastic bags to store hot food. The serving folks ignored my concerns about this when I pointed it out

The other day, we placed an order to go. We've ordered to go several times and have never been disappointed with the food. This time, we ordered a Chicken salad sandwich on a sourdough baguette and a Turkey cranberry sandwich on sliced sourdough. Both were really good! In the past, we've eaten BLTA, Beef Chile in a sourdough bread bowl, Rustic Tomato in a sourdough bread bowl, Pastrami melt, the Italiano, Sourdough patty melt, Snickerdoodle, Peanut butter cookies. The staff has always been nice. In case you didn't know, there are restaurants in the area that serve Boudin Sourdough with your meal. If you’re ever at Fishermans Wharf in San Francisco, I'd suggest a visit to Boudin SF. At the Fishermans Wharf location, you can watch the bakers making bread by hand. There's also Bistro Boudin on the second floor with a bar and full service restaurant. IMO, they make the best sourdough bread!
I have never been to a Boudin SF that wasn’t outstanding. Staff are helpful and courteous, the food was fresh, and the restaurant appears extremely clean and well maintained.
