Happy Flower Eatery & Boba

I ordered multiple items over multiple days, and everything is rather sweet without enough salt to counterbalance. Especially the soup and curry and salads. They do have some great things like the deep fried squid rings and boba, but regular food items are quite lacking in salt and umami. The rice paper spring rolls are worth a try though since they have a lot of variety in filling and dips. Go to Merit Vegan (Lawrence Expressway) instead. Also vegan Vietnamese food but way better taste. Updated from previous review on 2025-06-16

Far service, great food, very nice employees. Cute place!

Fantastic experience at this small quaint mom-and-pop kinda place. The manager/server was kind enough to accommodate all our requests. The taro ube tea (without caffeine) was out of the world! Loved the pad thai, banh-mi, papaya salad too. We will be back again to try the other things on the menu.

Super delicious Vietnamese food. Many gluten free options available - the tofu was so highly flavored in both dishes. My husband and I could barely finish 2 dishes - the green papaya salad w.tofu and the lemongrass entree w.tofu. The vegan meat substitutes contain wheat so I couldn't try them.

Ordered the vegan curry & garlic noodles.
Food lacked flavor. Salt was missing.
Garlic noodles wasn’t seasoned well.

Very nice food and ambience. Food was very tasty and a lot of options for vegetarians. The restaurant serves only vegan dishes. I gave 4 star because restaurant can be a bit more hygienic. The plates and forks they served were dirty. They cleaned the table in front of us and put whatever was on the table on the floor. Sometimes it make me wonder how will it be inside their kitchen.

We ordered a Vietnamese pho and found a piece of plastic wire in it. This has been a really disappointing experience!

The best vegan food

Happy Flower Eatery is one of the best spots in the South Bay for vegan Southeast Asian food. I've tried many spots in my vegan journey and didn't expect to come across a new favorite in the last few months.

Our group of four ordered a combination of items from their Sampler Appetizer of rolls, Salted Fish Fried Rice, Mushroom Stew, and Beyond Meat String Beans Stir-Fry. Portions were great for every dish and the flavors were all there. My friends couldn't believe some of the items were plant-based but it goes to show that seasoning and preparation make a difference to any dish.

Service was very friendly as well. The manager checked in on us to make sure we were enjoying our food and I appreciated their service.

The area itself doesn't have much but well worth it to experience some great Vietnamese and Southeast Asian inspired vegan cuisine.

Tons of parking, quick service, and great place to meet with vegan friends. Mango smoothie was larger than expected, so delicious before the veggie stir fry. Tofu’s flavored and cooked well too.
