Happy Flower Eatery is one of the best spots in the South Bay for vegan Southeast Asian food. I've tried many spots in my vegan journey and didn't expect to come across a new favorite in the last few months. Our group of four ordered a combination of items from their Sampler Appetizer of rolls, Salted Fish Fried Rice, Mushroom Stew, and Beyond Meat String Beans Stir-Fry. Portions were great for every dish and the flavors were all there. My friends couldn't believe some of the items were plant-based but it goes to show that seasoning and preparation make a difference to any dish. Service was very friendly as well. The manager checked in on us to make sure we were enjoying our food and I appreciated their service. The area itself doesn't have much but well worth it to experience some great Vietnamese and Southeast Asian inspired vegan cuisine.
Vietnamese cuisine, almost entire menu is vegan and the food is EXCELLENT!! Lots of vegan meat substitutes you don't normally see: calimari, shrimp, fish fillet, and duck! The duck was extraordinary with perfect flavor match and excellent texture, chewed like real meat. Family run restaurant, very nice and roomy inside, plenty of parking.
The Vietnamese family who runs this place closed their previous establishment, Mint & Basil in South San Jose, and opened Happy Flower around June 2023. Many of the same great dishes are still on the menu, along with some new food and lots of boba drinks. Absolutely fantastic pho, banh mi, and so much more. Would come more often if it was closer to home. The location is near many business parks so hopefully they get a good lunch crowd. Love this place!
Loved the ambiance and the decor. Oh and the food is delicious! Tried the pad thai this time and loved it!
Only got their boba, there was a deal of buy 3 get 1 free when we went. Their milk teas are good, but oof, their thai tea is super strong. Made the mistake of drinking it in the evening, didn't sleep well. The milk teas had OK caffine levels. Sweetness level is also good for me.
Best vegan pho ? ever! We also loved the autumn rolls and eggplant with tofu. We’ll be coming back again soon! ??

we were so delighted to discover happy flower last weekend. Calming, pleasant atmosphere, delicious food, very kind staff. It is vegan Asian and done very very well.
One of my favorite spots for vegan food in the South Bay. All the dishes I've tasted during multiple visits have been fantastic. Recommend dishes: Autumn roll, Winter roll, Lemongrass Tofu, Garlic noodles, Spicy Noodle

My favorite milk tea spot. So nice! The staff is so nice. Amazing food and relaxing atmosphere. Has outdoor seating. Boba and all the other tea drinks are so good!!! The Thai tea is perfect and I have traveled to Thailand 4 times! *The driveway and parking lot are nice and smooth and accommodating for lowered vehicles. I have lowered cars and they can make it into the driveway here no problem +100

Nice place to try some Vietnamese pho. It just gets too loud in there when it’s full. If you are looking for a private experience then it’s not this place . But food is overall good.

I've been here three times (with different vegan/vegetarian diners), and the food has always been delicious. Highly recommend their spring/summer/autumn/winter rolls (or just get their all season sampler). What I appreciate about the food is that it's not *just* replacing the meat in the dish with vegan alternatives, it actually tastes like the dish is *meant* to taste the way it is, if that makes sense.
It's a shame the location isn't easy to see when driving, but I really hope Happy Flower Eatery stays open for a long time to come.

Their rolls were so amazing! Five rolls with totally different ingredients, texture and flavors. Along with three sauces, the combination of flavors was so abundant that I didn't feel "constrained" by the vegan theme.

Colourful hanging paper lanterns! Cute decor. Good amount of outdoor and indoor seating.
Service was kind of slow but not too bad.
My friend and I both ordered the strawberry yoghurt milk tea. It was creamy and had a nice texture. I personally would have preferred a stronger strawberry flavour and a sweeter taste (6/10 for me out of all boba drinks in Bay Area I’ve ordered).
Overall, I would come back to this place for the ambience and lanterns and order a different drink next time, maybe try some of their food!
