Great little Indian restaurant on El camino real road. It is run by a family and you can see the warmth in the food they meticulously prepare. The taste is on point to what you'd expect from a North Indian restaurant even back in India, we had chole baturas & aloo tikki chat. You know the food is good when you eat it so fast and forget to take pictures :DThe seating is limited and not fancy at all but I grew up appreciating the small restaurants that give you great food and don't charge you fancy money for interior and decor.

worst Indian food I ever had in Bay Area. Biryani was pulav of super cooked rice with extra spices. Palak Paneer was all time bad.

Best food, great service. Love the whole vibe. This place is always packed. Expect a line so come early.

I love this quaint, nearly-home-cooked quality of food place. Nearly every time I called and requested a change to the spice level or type of dish, they've agreed to and delivered. Long may it continue.

Very tasty punjabi style vegetarian food. Had punjabi kadhi and palak paneer and this really left me satisfied. Comfort food at its best.

I tried the kadai paneer, after seeing so many positive reviews around this restaurant. But the gravy was nothing close to kadai paneer. It was just a tomato gravy with huge ginger pieces. Taste was

While prices have gone up (haven't they everywhere?), this is still our favorite Indian restaurant for take out. They used to be a bit more generous with their starches (especially the naan that came with the entrees), but I understand increased costs and the need to scale back a little. That said, I feel like Satkar is a still a solid value (for takeout) compared to other options. The quality of the food has remained high, and they seem as busy as ever before. If you call for take out, plan for 30 - 60 minutes before your food is ready... quality takes time, and I'm okay with that! If you eat here, plan on takeout only. They have two or three tables, but the customer area is quite small, and you probably won't be comfortable dining in with all the in and out of the takeout foot traffic.

Place was recommended to me by my general physician who is Indian. Phoned up August 12, 430pm and ordered $16 chicken korma, $16 chicken makhani, $14 bengan bhartha, each with a choice of naan or basmati rice. Took 50 minutes for my order to be ready at 522pm, and had to make a U turn onto bumper to bumper El Camino Real rush hour traffic 2 miles back to my house. The chicken korma and chicken makhani were curry dishes, spicy and full of flavors, with a decent amount of chicken. Went well over cooked cauliflower. The bengan bhartha is cooked eggplant, chopped and pulverized. Among the best eggplant dishes I have ever tasted, Indian or Chinese. Wife's favorite. Phoned up October19 430pm, and found out they were no longer serving meat dishes, only vegetarian dishes. Ordered the $14 bengan bhartha, the $14 Malai Kofa, and the $14 Navrattan Korma, the last two with plenty of vegetables in a spicy curry sauce. Combined them with the naan that came with the dishes. In the future, will order dishes from this place only after eating Costco chicken. Will combine the leftover rotisserie chicken breasts with the vegetarian curry dishes to satisfy my carnivore cravings.

This is an update - the place has become a vegetarian restaurant so many of the reviews and menu photos are outdated. Their baingan bharta and bhindi masala are excellent. But no more seekh kabab or tandoori chicken.
