The quality of the beer was amazing. The place has a cool vibe and the staff were friendly too. Food is served from a nearby truck so no worries about the sides.

lets note

Went with friends. Good place after work. Street parking available. Can enjoy many different local beer flavors. Food was supplied by truck stand in front. Overall good experience

I don't know how it took me so long to discover this place. I used to live in NOLA for two years, and the breweries and beer/wine gardens are common places to hangout any time of the day. The good vibes at ShaKa on a Friday night remind me of NOLA quite a bit, but it's too bad yet understandable they close at 9pm.I ordered the beer flight with my cousin. We ordered two flights with the yakitori, so we got to try just about their whole selection. It's great to discover a local brewery in the South Bay and support local businesses. My favorite flavors this night were the dark matter stout, which was chocolatey, and the Yardhouse golden ale. They were fresh from the tap and had a nice crispness. The atmosphere was lively and chill. I would love to come back when there's live music. Staff were friendly and provided recommendations. It is also dog friendly here with plenty of seating inside and outside with space heaters. The parking was a little challenge. Do drive slow as the speed bumps are meant for trucks around this warehouse area and they are HUGE. I hit the bottom of my car not noticing the big speed bumps. The interior is nicely designed and thought out-- very friendly and welcoming.

The interior is nicely designed and thought out-- very friendly and welcoming. Okibiyaki-Kikuchi is a pop-up and does not have a Yelp page yet, so I'll post a review here. Okibiyaki-Kikuchi is a yakitori pop-up that stops at different breweries in the South Bay. When I went to Japan last year, yakitori from the charcoal grill was one of the most memorable meals. I won't forget how there were tasty options around every corner in Tokyo. Ever since I went to Japan last year, I crave delicious yakitori from a charcoal grill in the Bay Area and always seek out new places to try. I finally tried Okibiyaki-Kikuchi as a yakitori pop-up at ShaKa brewing after eyeing it for a long time. The grilled meat skewers were so delicious and enjoyable to eat with a cold beer flight from ShaKa brewing. The chef is a master of yakitori. I tried hatsu, kalbi, shishito, kimo, and bara tama. I can describe a perfect night like this. A perfect night included skewers from the live ember grill by the master chef and a beer flight. The flavors are legit-- the process of preparing the meat is impressive, and the technique with the charcoal grill brings out the best flavors. The Bay Area is treated to authentic flavors like in Japan. It is recommended that should arrive to the pop-up early as they ran out of the chicken skewers. I will absolutely try the chicken skin and thigh next time.

This is the prettiest and most aesthetic brewery I have ever been to. There is a gorgeous mural, soft lighting, plants and dried florals hanging everywhere, a projector that shows jellies and other sea creatures, and lovely rugs. The staff have really thought of everything, including blankets for the outdoor seating (there are heat lamps but the blankets are a helpful touch), barley tea for those who don't drink or who just want some tea as a palate cleanser between brews (me!) and partnerships with local pop-ups and food trucks so you can get a bite to eat with your beer. There are also games to play. The owners and team members are all helpful and delightful people. I like that this place combines the casualness of breweries with the attentiveness of restaurants with table service--there is a nice middle ground that you don't experience too often. Plus, the beers are all great. It would be cool if they eventually offer seltzer or cider for those who aren't beer drinkers (we beer drinkers all have those friends!) so that they could tag along and find something of their liking. But that won't stop me from coming here again and again :)

This brewery has limited hours being only open Thurs - Sat but I'm glad I found it, it's really cute! I enjoyed each of the beers I tried, friends enjoyed their flights, a comfy area to sit and catch up with friends. With the live music it can get a bit hard to hear people and might end up yelling but it's a really nice atmosphere. Never knew this place existed behind the warehouse areas! Being Japanese, i love all the Japanese touches, the Japanese food truck/pop up that was available, and the mugicha (barley tea) available with the water! We also brought our kids along since it's family friendly and they loved all the games, books, and toys available in the back. Don't expect everything to have all the pieces but we found a puzzle that had everything!! Miracles!! Overall a really fun atmosphere with good beer. They even let you bring in outside food since the options are limited! Definitely recommend!

Great beer (I’m a fan of the Sunnyvale Pale Lager, the Yardbird Golden, and the Riley Red Ale). Excellent assortment of food trucks and musicians provides variety.

Went on a Friday night and was really impressed by everything overall. It was pretty crowded but the owner (introduced himself) and employees provided wonderful customer service. Beer was solid as well Would definitely recommend this place!

Nice little brewery tucked away among small warehouses. The parking lot was pretty full when I went. The taproom however wasn't too busy but it had a good vibe. I only got a taster sized beer because I had already been to four other breweries. My stout was very good. I highly recommend this place to get a good brew.

Loved everything about this brewery! Super welcoming owners, all 9 beers we tried were delicious. AND to top it off, we were able to bring our dog inside with us!

So happy to find this little gem, a little out of the way from the downtown area. Friendly staff, excellent, well-crafted beers, and laid back atmosphere. Very clean and inviting. On the weekend night when we visited, there was a food truck with seriously good snacks worthy of a foodie visit.
