I will prefer as least prefered indian restaurant in san jose. Dirty place tables not clean, handwash area stinks.. and u can smell the wash room till ur table. Coming to food, i went in the morning around 9.30. Ordered idli vada, mysure bajji and poori. I am sure any of that is made fresh. They are yesterdays. Sambar is not the breakfast sambar but the lunch sambar(90% water 😵). Ig it is yesterdays lunch sambar leftovers. Pooris sabji doesnt have salt at all. Very very poor quality food and not worth the price. I strongly recommend other restaurants like mylapore(10/10 price and hygine) , ulavacharu etc.. idk what the owners are thinking but, it was such an horrible breakfast experience. To mention , service is also bad. I recommend to go other restaurants rathers than this horrible place.

My favorites: Vijayawada Special paneer biryani and onion pakoda—best in the Bay Area. No other restaurant comes close in taste or quality.

The overall experience was quite disappointing. The food took an unusually long time to be served, and the staff member at the counter was not only unhelpful but also came across as rude and dismissive when approached. There was a clear lack of customer service. On top of that, the ambiance felt dull and poorly maintained, which made the wait even more unpleasant. Definitely not the kind of environment you’d expect for a comfortable dining experience.

It's hard to sing praises for a place that skates at the edge of functionality. Swathi Tiffins is yet another hole in the wall that strings together a mediocre decor with an expansive menu and average fares. The pesarettu was nice enough at first, but the peanut forward chutney and the alright-sambar did not carry this onion stuffed dish too far. The mysore bajjis were soft but quite uninteresting, similar to the Colombian pan de bonos! The thali and biriyani appeared interesting, and I may have to come back to see if their non-tiffins are any better.

This is the most adventorous place for me as of now Someone who has just moved to US from India ( Doesnt matter which part of it) The food here is authentic and is resonable to start with My fav part is Tea after the meal...

Swathi Tiffins was a disappointing experience, with below-average food and poor ambience.
South Indian Thali: The South Indian Thali was outright bad – so bad that I couldn’t even finish it. The food was overly masala-rich, completely overpowering the actual flavors of the dishes. Some of the curries were bland and practically inedible. I honestly regretted ordering it.
Service: The service was okay, but nothing special to make up for the subpar food and overall experience.
Ambience: The ambience was pathetic. The place felt very dirty and unkempt, which added to the unpleasant experience.
Swathi Tiffins needs serious improvements in both food quality and cleanliness. I wouldn’t recommend it based on my visit.

Yesterday I ordered a paneer biryani Full Tray for New Year function and, unfortunately, it didn’t meet expectations. The flavor was initially promising, but after a short period, the dish began to spoil and developed an unpleasant smell. It was quite disappointing as I had high hopes for the meal for New Year Party. Not only did the dish spoil quickly and start to smell yesterday night, but when I tried reaching out to customer service for help, I don't see any proper response from hotel mamangement. It’s extremely frustrating when both the food quality and customer service are subpar.
