What happened:
I created a custom Caesar salad and placed my order. When I received the notification that it was ready, I had just arrived at the Sunnyvale location and walked in about a minute later. However, my order wasn’t on the pickup shelf. Since the staff were busy, I chose to wait in line rather than interrupt them.
After about 10 minutes, another customer also couldn’t find their pickup order and asked the staff about it. One of the employees then went to a back table and prepared several orders for pickup - including mine. I picked it up and decided to let the service issue slide. These things happen, and one imperfect experience isn’t enough for a bad review in my book. I genuinely love Sweetgreen (I even left the first Google review when you opened at Santa Clara Square), though I was confused why I received a “ready” notification when the order clearly wasn’t ready yet.
Everything would have been fine - except when I arrived at the place where I planned to have lunch, I discovered there was no chicken in my salad. Not a single piece. It was simply forgotten. That’s what prompted me to write this review.
Guys, I truly love your brand and your product, just like many others do. My only wish is that you pay close attention to management at your locations. As the chain expands, a decline in service quality will inevitably lead to lost customers and negative feedback. A 3.6 rating on Google Maps for the new Santa Clara location already says a lot to me (especially considering it started with my 5 stars).
Maintaining customer loyalty for a brand that stands for freshness, flavor, and care for health should be part of the mission — not just increasing revenue and turning into another faceless food factory.
To be clear, this review applies only to this specific location and its management, not to the employees or the company as a whole.
I hope you value constructive feedback and use it to improve.
Thank you.

Harvest Bowl was Heavy on the Kale. It taste super healthy, just missing more tang. I wish it had more Apple (pretty light on Apples). The Basalmic was Ok, maybe tiny bit salty so I put less Basalmic. I wish this salad had a tiny bit Iceberg or some type of lettuce since so heavy on the Kale. Overall taste Super Healthy but I think some of the dressings are salty which cause me to put less dressing. I wish Sweet Green offer just a regular Vinegar & Oil ( like italian dressing). I ordered Guacamole Greens for Dad ( comes with Chicken). It seem to be more delicious with Avocado, Tomato, Pickled Onion, Shred Cabbage, Tortilla Chips, & most yummy was Romaine plus Spring Mix. I was not sure I liked the Lime Cilantro Dressing but other people might like it ( maybe just need more lime or some type of tang) so I got the Apple Vinegarette which might have needed more tang. It had a layer of Oily stuff on top maybe heavy on Oil, just needed more Vinegarette. So the guy gave me extra other sauces. He gave me one extra Miso (Ok, but all dressings need some type of tang). And I used the basalmic for my Dad's Guacamole since he did not seem to like the Oily Apple Vinegarette. Again, the dressings just need a plain old fashioned Italian ( even need the type you get from store). The guy seem to be service the front all by himself. He did a great job, but maybe he need a little help ( dont know) He did let me try the Cilantro Lime Dressing. Overall, to improve the food ( maybe i forgot to try Green Goddess and i should have tried that) we just need one more dressing. One dressing like some regular Italian with lots of Vinegar & one slightly sweet dressing. The Basalmic that came with the Harvest just seem slightly salty and I dont remember normal Balsamic being salty ( I need to eat more Salad in my life so I dont know if I am the best judge of all Salads) The Harvest Salad just needed more tang or just more apples or something. They do have variety of Juice Lemonade, Hibiscus, Apple Pomegranate, & some type of Green Kale juice which taste very gingery. I got plain Apple Juice for Dad ( the cheapest) but not sugary enough. It had a refreshing apple flavour but was kid's juice that had less sugar.

The salads here are very tasty! I like that you can customize and that there is such a good range of healthy options.
Some things as suggestions: the tables are all wobbly. Its hard to eat and my water kept almost spilling. The floor and tables are also usually dirty (although clean today). Its very off putting to have to clean up somebody elses food and to see the food on the floor around you. Lastly because the bread is precut, its stale. Im sure its fresh daily but cutting in the AM means by the PM its a bit hard and not as good to eat. I wish the cafes were a bit better tended to. Its also annoying that you have to ask for a cup for water likes its school or something! The water filter needs to be changed, the water tastes like a pool.
Anyway, other than the above, its great 👍

I wish I saw the reviews before but wow the service was horrible for the prices they’re charging. Got the harvest bowl and there were literally two tiny pieces of chicken in it. Barely any toppings, skimped on the base too. Won’t be coming back. The woman’s attitude was the worst part.. there was nobody else ordering behind me when I went but she was rushing so fast and staring at me with a frown. This isn’t a cheap food stand so I’m surprised. Better to honestly just get the salads at Trader Joe’s or make your own. I had to ask her to add the bread too. Don’t know why she was being cheap with me for no reason. I saw the other workers filled up more but they also had such a nasty presence and speak zero English which isn’t appropriate for customer service jobs.

Sometimes overcooked wild rice and beef here! It is roughly a 1/3 chance the wild rice and/or beef is overcooked and hardened in the Sunnyvale location.
I have been ordering from this and Santa Clara location for hundreds of times, the new Santa Clara location never had this problem. Especially the rice, sometimes so hard the teeth hurts. Plz fix.

Found a small green worm in my salad. I have been here before but never found a problem with my food. I would wash the vegetables better.

Very disappointing experience. An employee named Jaqueline yelled at me in front of everyone for no reason while I was picking up a DoorDash order. She told me to wait outside and refused to give me the order, forcing me to cancel. I am also a regular customer, and this treatment was unacceptable.

The management here is really disappointing. They don’t know how to handle customers at all. The waiting time is very long for everyone, not just me. It feels like they don’t value our time.
Another thing I noticed — communication is difficult because they don’t speak English clearly, so they don’t understand what customers are asking for. The whole place felt unprofessional, more like a food truck setup instead of a proper restaurant.
Definitely needs improvement in management, customer service, and communication.

Ordered chicken avocado ranch bowl and what I received had no chicken and green goddess dressing 💀. It also had no sweet potato and “pickled” onions which were just raw. They literally messed up almost half the ingredients of a salad bowl. Insane.
