Staff are friendly but I observed many food handling issues in the kitchen. One guy was on his phone the whole time and was handling food. A female staff member was snacking while preparing food. Another employee was stapling paper bags right by the food prep area (there is always a chance that the staples get in the food accidentally).
Also the display system should give an option for skipping on the plastic cutlery to reduce waste.

Food is okay, service is horrible. I've eaten here twice. Burgers were okay but they always over cook the fried eggs and the guy at the counter at night is always hella rude and dismissive. Definitely won't be coming back

I placed an online order through themelt.com today.

The pickup order contained two items, spicy crispy chicken and bbq bacon chicken. Near the end of having the bbq bacon chicken, I noticed there is a strand of someone's hair infused with the cheese (see pics attached). It was revolting and I threw up!

I am so horrified and can't get the image out of my head. Is this how your company manages food safety? Please do better and ensure it doesn't happen to anyone again. I am very disappointed and don't see a good reason to go back to the MELT again.

Burger was OK. Very sloppy and wet. The garlic fries were good. Very expensive with limited parking. I probably wouldn't come back.

Good fast-food-ish burgers and melts, but shakes were meh.

Glad to see a new spot in downtown Sunnyvale. Tried the impossible burger and it was actually very tasty. My teen got the double bacon with egg on top! Over the top but he said it was good. Would come back again. It was clean and food came out fast. The vanilla shake was too icy. I would skip it next time.

This restaurant was a nice find. And I only found it thanks to Yelp!

We enjoyed a few items. First was the original single melt burger. Asked for the jalapeño-pickle mix on the side. One I tried it, I wished I got the double instead, it was so tasty. A little greasy, but what burger is not?

Second was the melty mac. I considered grilled cheese instead, but what dish better to rate a cheese place than mac 'n cheese. I was not disappointed. Very yummy, not overly cheesy and topped with a very nice bread crumb that made the consistency perfect.

Two sides we tried were the garlic parmesan fries and the tomato soup. Both were great. The fries were perfectly crispy-cooked IMO. And the right size and thickness. Loaded with toppings. The tomato soup had a nice sweetness and creamy and smooth.

I forgot the fountain drink brand, but it was one of those designer brands. The diet cola was good, the lemon lime was good. The ginger ale was a little too hot for me. Root beer was super duper sweet.

You enter and order at the counter, then get a pager. The service was really friendly and the foot prepared quickly. Parking garage around the corner in the back. And it's downtown Sunnyvale so lots of places to walk around before or after. Great overall place.

The Melt in Sunnyvale is a classy take on the classic burger joint, perfect for when you’re in the mood for something a little more upscale. I decided to sit outside for a few minutes to figure out my order and was pleasantly surprised by their outdoor seating area—it’s not only well-heated but also equipped with screens playing live sports for some added entertainment.

Their menu is extensive, which made it tough to decide. A standout feature is their option to replace any burger with an Impossible patty, which is great for vegetarians. They also offer a variety of sides and drinks, adding to the appeal.

When I asked the server for recommendations, he wasn’t able to narrow it down, simply saying “everything is good.” So, I went with the Impossible Spicy Mission Burger, garlic parmesan fries, and a soda.

The food arrived quickly and was well-presented. The burger was delicious with just the right amount of spice, though the fries could have used a stronger garlic flavor. Still, they weren’t bad.

While it’s a bit pricier than your average burger spot, The Melt delivers on quality and atmosphere. If you’re looking for a fancy burger experience in Sunnyvale, this is a great choice.

Went with my family of vegetarians, and there are ample options here. I got a Shroom Burger with Impossible burger patty, my boys got mac n cheese and a grilled cheese sandwich. Hands down we ate the best Mac n Cheese, and the quantity is huge. Fries and milkshake was very good. Burger was okay, not much flavor there. Check the bill because I ordered a Single patty burger and later checked that I was charged for a Double instead. I don't know why, but that was one of the reasons for 4-star.

Service was fast and the place is huge with inside & outside seating and kept very clean.
