I’ve heard good reviews on this place but today’s buffet made me sick. Firstly I felt the items were very limited when compared and the food tasted really bland especially saag paneer and fish curry . Desserts were good. All the dishes had little to no salt in it . Its not this but the after affect me and my friends are having is what is my concern. We all have this feeling of indigestion and burping going on . Not sure if the management changed from the time my friends visited but I think the restaurant should be aware of what we think of the buffet. I didn’t mention this during checkout may be I was being nice not sure .

Recommended dishes: Unlimited Non Veg Thali, Veg Biryani
Please never ever buy biryani from this place. Picked up hot vijaywada chicken biryani from here and it is a stretch to even call it a biryani. The rice was lacking any masala(see image) and the chicken pieces were barely flavorful.

We went for the buffet on a Saturday. The food was hit and miss. The lemonade, mango lassi, carrot halwa, fruit custard, Veg biryani, naan were good. The rest of the items were ok. There was too much staff milling around, maybe because there was also a birthday party in the adjoining room. $25 per person.

Visited again after 5 years. I really liked the food. Tomato and chilli chutney, bendi and peanut curry, beetroot halwa are good.
Got the weekend special goat biryani to go. The family size had a total of just 4 pieces of meat and the rest of it was rice, which too was bland and flavorless.

Very disappointed with the quality of service , the food entrees and the overall ambience
I think the management changed and the quality is poor. Even when we raised concern over the food quality and the taste being super bland, they didn't mean to care or try to change anything about it
They definitely need to work on all these aspects
Wouldn't be coming anytime soon

Continues to serve one of the best Indian buffets in the bay area. Their Thursday dinner buffet is something unique with a great mix of south Indian tiffin items such as dosa, puri, idly along with the traditional biryani's and meat spread.

My first visit to Ulavacharu left me thoroughly impressed, but unfortunately, the second time around didn't live up to the same expectations.
During our initial visit, the buffet was nothing short of a feast. The variety of authentic Andhra dishes was amazing, from tiffins to spicy Andhra chicken curry and flavorful biryanis. Every dish seemed fresh, with distinct flavors that stayed true to South Indian cuisine. The highlight for me was the spicy Gongura mutton and the assortment of chutneys that added an extra punch of flavor to the meal. The service was prompt, and the staff were attentive, making the entire experience truly enjoyable.
However, on our second visit, things took a downturn. The buffet spread was still vast, but the quality of the food was noticeably lacking. Several dishes seemed stale or reheated, with some items being too oily or bland compared to our first experience. The mutton dishes, which had been a star previously, were chewy and overcooked.
It's disappointing because Ulavacharu clearly has the potential to deliver excellent food, as seen during our first visit. I'm hoping the inconsistency was a one-off, as I'd love to return for the food that initially impressed us.
Overall, while our second visit was underwhelming, I'd still recommend trying Ulavacharu for their buffet, especially if you catch them on a good day.

We went on a lunch buffet in weekend. It is $23+tax friday to sunday and $21+tax monday to thursday. The buffet had noodles, chicken Starter, potato wedges, chicken briyani, mutton briyani, veg briyani, paneer gravy, naan , butter chicken, andhra chicken curry, vada pav, mango lassi, curd rice, rice, pongal, sambar, jelabi, fruit custard, tea, some halwa. The jelabi was so hard not able to bite it. The briyani was not that flavorful.
