Nella Terra is an absolute gem — a small, family-operated winery tucked away in the rolling hills of Sunol, just 15 minutes from my office. I’ve visited a few times with friends and recently became a proud wine club member. Every visit is a peaceful escape: quiet, scenic, and full of charm.
The wines are truly delicious, but what makes Nella Terra stand out is the people behind it. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Gerry and his son Griffin — both incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and just a joy to be around. Their passion for what they do is infectious.
What makes it even more special is the heart behind the winery. Nella Terra is a tribute to Griffin’s Italian grandfather, and you can feel that legacy in every detail — from the vines to the hospitality. I also had the unique opportunity to work with the winery on a large community event that helped raise funds for the Washington Hospital Foundation — their support and involvement were top-notch.
Whether you're looking to relax with a glass of wine, host an unforgettable event in their stunning space, or join in on one of their fun community gatherings, I can’t recommend Nella Terra enough. Kendall and Whitney from Nella Terra were so responsive and kind throughout the planning process. They answered every question, big or small, and made us feel confident and supported every step of the way. The venue itself is breathtaking—rolling vineyards, lush greenery, and in May, the weather was absolutely perfect. It felt like something out of a fairytale.
Our coordination team from Simply Lovely Events, led by Lindsay, was exceptional. Lindsay was organized, calm, and made sure every little detail ran smoothly on the big day. We didn’t have to stress about anything because she and her team had it all handled.
Torrey, our catering coordinator, was also a huge part of why everything went off without a hitch. The food was fantastic—our guests couldn’t stop talking about it—and service was prompt, friendly, and professional.
One of the things that stood out the most to us (and to all our friends and family) was just how fun and stress-free the entire day felt. Everyone had such a great time, and it was clear how much care and coordination went into making it all happen.

It was a spur of the moment decision for my friend and I to visit Nella Terra. I had heard that the property was beautiful but had never been…until yesterday! We were unsure of what to expect, but we were graciously greeted by the most wonderful Ilona. She gave us a wonderful history lesson about the property and family that own it. Lucky for us, we happened to be the only guests at that moment so we had all of Ilona’s attention. She delicately described each delicious wine that she poured. I drink reds more than whites, but I have to say that every white I tried was so delicious, the Alborino and viognier were top notch. The cream of the crop, however, was the 2022 Pinot Reserve….a perfect wine to celebrate any occasion. Best tasting ever!!!! Ilona surprised us with what felt like a never ending selection of both reds and whites. Personal highlights for me were the alborino, so fresh and crisp, closely followed by a gorgeous viognier....additionally we found a new treasure, the 2022 Pinot Reserve (A must have for special occasions!) Nella Terra has it all, a wonderful blend of great wine, beautiful scenery and excellent service.I can't wait to return for another tasting experience.

From the moment we toured Nella Terra Cellars in August 2023, we knew it was the perfect wedding venue. The stunning stone staircase surrounded by lush grapevines immediately captured our hearts, and we booked our September 2024 wedding the following day.
One of the venue's greatest strength is its comprehensive vendor network. I ended up choosing the majority of my FANTASTIC team (planning & design, florals, rentals, DJ, catering etc. all from their official list). Kendall, our point of contact, was outstanding - responsive, organized, and attentive to every detail. She personally ensured the bridal cottage felt welcoming, complete with champagne and cider to celebrate our special day.
On our wedding day, Nella Terra Cellars exceeded every expectation. The natural beauty of the landscape, combined with the venue's meticulous planning, created a truly magical experience. The rolling hills, gentle breeze, and stunning scenery provided a breathtaking backdrop for our celebration. We were touched by the numerous compliments about our venue from our guests, many of whom had journeyed significant distances to share in our special day.
Overall, we cannot recommend Nella Terra Cellars enough. We are already looking forward to returning each year to commemorate our wedding anniversary!
