Diamond In the Rough Cafe

While I always enjoy visiting the restaurant, this time was just average. The wait staff was attentive at first. Took a while before seeing the waiter after the food arrived. The fresh fruit chicken spring mix salad was quite big. Chicken was a little dry. The rest of the ingredients were good.

We went here for the prime rib based on another review. (Admittedly it was old) one prime rib came out properly cooked medium, the other, which was also supposed to be medium, was dry and had the texture of jerky...obviously re-heated and overcooked. My husband tried to eat it and when I saw how tough it was, I exchanged with him, thinking I could manage it. NOT. I asked to have it replaced...the waitress told us the manager refused as we had tried to eat it. I asked to speak to the manager, and after another 10 minutes of arguing and her having to take the old one to the cook, it was replaced...but of course, everything was cold by then. I was shocked that they would be so difficult over an order that was clearly unsatisfactory. I would not recommend this place. You stand a 50% chance of getting beef jerky instead of a 23$ 10oz prime rib.

My wife and I went for an evening of gambling and dinner. We had the Prime Rib and it was cooked exactly to our order. Very good meal and very large portions. Will be back again as we are local. Thank you Restaurant staff for a great job !!

We had two meals here. Very friendly staff and very fast. There is no room service with the hotel, but I went down and got dinner to-go. How nice! Packaged well, real silverware, not plastic, lots of napkins. Both with picking up a late dinner at the bar for take- out, and with breakfast in the morning, the meals were hot and substantial! Both meals were more than we could eat and tasty. Breakfast was extremely good. OMG. I would want to go again if it was not so smoky, even in the non-smoking part of the restuarant, which is closed off from the rest of the casino.

I had the steak and eggs with hash brown. The steak was perfectly cooked, hash browns were perfect crispy and my eggs were all perfect. My husband had the omelet his wasnt as good as mine but we always enjoy our stay at DMC

I travel to Susanville at least twice a year. I usually stay at the Diamond Mountain Casino Hotel. Last night we ventured into the non smoking part of the restaurant. My husband had the Prime Rib and I had the Rib Eye. We had a choice of three sides. A lot to choose from. Steak was great! The best part was we were able to bring our own bottle of wine. A great meal, great service, will definitely eat here again!

The food was fine but the atmosphere was dull and the smoke was insufferable. Unfortunately, there are no other sports bars in Susanville.

On a trip up north and stayed at the hotel. Decided to try the sports bar & grill. Excellent food. Cheeseburger cooked to order with the works and the sweet potato fries were to die for. Service was great, excellent prices and they gave a senior discount too.

First visit to susanville and Casino. Came to see what susanville had to offer. Wanted to try the potato soup everyone was talking about. Found out no longer have potato soup. Only one kind of soup each day. Took off one star for not having it.

Good place to be with friends share a beer and have fun!! Service is excellent, good food as complement for your booze

We always enjoy the friendly atmosphere and excellent food. We especially enjoy the Friday night prime rib. Always enough for tomorrow night, and excellent seasoning!

We are non-smokers and appreciated the closed off non smoking dining room. The staff was friendly and efficient. Food was good!

Our steaks were great, the service friendly. There a quiet of few beer choices. There is a no smoking room. Having a 50% off coupon was very nice.

Restaurant was smoke free filled with tables and booths. Customers appeared enjoying the ambiance, noise level was low which made it for pleasurable conversations. Attention to your needs was very good, tables were cleaned quickly and ready for the next customer. The food was just okay.
