bad service and bad food...waited 40 minutes for scrabmbeled eggs...over cooked and literally burned hash browns
Used to be a go to place for us until our last visit. We got there for lunch on Friday at about 1:00. There was only one server, he was nice but covering the whole restuant was more than a one person job. Our food sat on the counter for quite some time before he was able to get it to us so it wasn't too warm. The bacon was burnt as were the fries. Would have sent it back if he would have been able to check on us but he didn't so we ate it anyway. I managed to get him to bring me an espresso that was cold and diluted. Not worth the hour drive to get there anymore.

We went in for breakfast on Sunday am - around 11:15 am. Seated right away - with trained service dog (for disabled vet) - however they told us we needed to sit in back room with our “pet” - we made no fuss about their lack of understanding of ADA law - we were hungry!Food was excellent - but the wait for food was almost an hour for 2 omelets. They did offer an “on the house” danish we split about 30 minutes in.Wouldn’t go back- keeping an obviously ill 72 year old vet waiting so long in the “back room” was really just not ok.
Super friendly staff and the beef is from Swingle Meat Co. The food is delicious and the vegetables are so fresh and crispy. Every Friday brings a new burger! Suggest one to them.

The service was wonderfully country and rustic. I was delighted to see locals I know and love there.Sadly the menu was dull and the food under seasoned. I want to go there every single week just for the experience, but I want the menu to improve and the food to be a little more interesting
Absolutely loved this spot. I stopped here on my adventure through Sutter Creek. A man at one of the other establishments recommended this spot. Their BLT is bomb! I love their balsamic salad and their famous Buffalo Chips! Love this spot, definitely recommend stopping here and checking out all the other establishments too!
We have been here multiple times but both breakfast and dinner. The breakfast is AMAZING - service can be slow, but that's ok because I want to enjoy my food and not be rushed out. The Friday night burgers are my favorite - so good and I love there is a weekly 'special' burger!
Very disappointed. I was there for breakfast around 10am with 3 other people. We were seated no time. Nice server she was. There was one other small party at a table. That’s all they had. They told us they were out of sausages. We ordered drinks n food within 15 min of arriving. Food didn’t get served for 40-50 min. One plate came out so late that 3 of 4 people had already finished eating. Two plates were supposed to have eggs over medium but were over easy. They forgot bacon on one plate. Hush browns was not warm n could use some more cooking inside…Overall we probably wouldn’t return again…
Four years ago I had rated Buffalo Chips five stars. I am local and probably average a visit bi-monthly. Over the past couple of years I have not had a single five star experience, and after my most recent visit, I decided a re-ranking was in order. In general, the food is ok and maybe slightly overpriced for what it is. Over the years, the presentation has changed from country artisan to classic diner. What had appeared to be homemade bread now appears mass produced; where orange zest was visible in the French toast of the past, the uniformly sliced pieces are an orange hue presumably from orange juice being added to the mix. These aren't strikes against the place, just observations on changes over time.Time to service both in terms of time to place an order and in terms of how long it takes to receive an order are both generally longer than one would expect.Today brought a couple of new elements. Each table is now equipped with an upward facing fan that slowly swings large flexible blades to ward off flies. Thinking the flies were primarily located in one area, maybe the brightest room, we relocated to a room on the opposite corner and found the number of flies to be evenly distributed. There were a lot of flies. I wish a picture could capture the number of flies in the air, on the table, or on my food at the same time. Eating outside may be the better option. When our order arrived, it was incomplete. We were told the eggs from both of our orders had been burnt and were being remade. Our hash browns also had been burnt on the outer layer, but were served anyway. We didn't address this with our server as we were anxious to finish and leave with our kids as quickly as possible. When our scrambled eggs came a few minutes later, the eggs from both orders were combined on a single plate for us to divide up and replate.
Friendly staff and fabulous breakfast. As soon as we arrived we were seated towards the back in a cute room with lots of sun. I had the Veggie omelet with gluten free toast, my husband had a ham and sausage omelet. Seemed the veggies in the veggie omelet were picked from someone's garden that morning, super fresh with perfectly cooked fluffy eggs in the omelet. My husband's omelet had tasty local sausage, yum!!! If in Sutter Cteek, head here for breakfast, we sat near the kitchen and everything coming out looked fantastic. PS...during breakfast when things were really busy, one of the staff noticed my husband's soda getting a lil low so he went out of his way offering to take care of it, excellent service, thank you!!!

I brought my 2 kids in for a late breakfast after playing in the park. I ordered a simple French toast for them and a slice of pie for myself. The restaurant was completely empty. Waited 15 minutes for the server to tell me they don't have any pie but that they do have coffee cake. So I ordered that Waited another 15 minutes only for her to come out and say that she lied and they don't have coffee cake. So I gave up and just decided to skip eating. My kids food took another 30 minutes to come out and was cold. It was also the worst French toast. Burnt on one side undercooked on the other. I was shocked to see an almost 40 dollar bill at check time. My kids orange juice cost more than their breakfast did! This place is a joke. Won't be going back and would encourage others to avoid this place. The bad energy between the servers and the management was palpable and waiting an hour to get served in an empty restaurant is unacceptable. There's much better spots to eat. I doubt this one will be around long with service like that anyway.
Downtown Sutter creek right on a corner. Parking is either on the street or a parking lot 3 doors down. The building is roomy broken into different rooms, I sat near the back. The server Cayce was super cool, never in need of anything as she came by often to see how you were doing.I ordered the country breakfast with a biscuit and gravy an OJ, coffee and I will say honestly the biscuit and gravy are very good. The breakfast comes with standard fair, 2 eggs, hashbrowns, meat (bacon) and bread - at a little extra you can order a home made English Muffin. Those were good, they are not sourdough.I briefly spoke with the owner Michelle, she gave a bit of history on the building. I will just say it has a bit of colored past, ask her she would be more than happy to show and speak about it.I left there stuffed. Couldn't eat all the food. Thanks for the excellent breakfast.
My husband and I and friends had the pleasure of having dinner lasted Friday night for hamburgers night. The Meal was delicious and the restaurant and owners were delightful. Our group especially enjoy our server Angela. She was very cute and worked hard to please us. She is a asset to Buffalo Chop restaurant. We drove from Sacramento and would gladly make that 45 min drive again. See ya all soon
Lovely corner restaurant on Main Street. Food was delicious and staff were so helpful and attentive while we were there for a baby shower. Will definitely be back here next time I'm visiting Sutter Creek!
My first time visiting this town with my grandparents. They spoke highly of this place when the previous owner had it. While eating our meal today, the new owner YELLED at one of the waitresses for asking a simple question which a customer wanted an answer to. He told her to clock out and never come back LOUDLY in front of everyone, more than once. Our french fries (that he cooked) were also rock hard and clearly sat in oil too long. 2 other tables also walked out without paying. This man should not be a manager, his attitude was atrocious.
