Very attentive service and seating. Busy, but we felt we were not ignored. Brussel sprouts are delish. I had the prime rib and my boyfriend had the bacon wrapped filet. Very tasty, tender! Passion fruit martini was perfect! My go to place in Suttercreek!

We had the worst experience at our recent visit. Times before we're actually very good and nice people, and great food. This last visit; we waited for over 30 minutes before anyone came to our table, as they took orders from a large party that came in after us. Another couple cancelled their order and left. We finally ordered and when our wine was delivered the waitress did not verify our bottle of wine we ordered and opened a whole different bottle without saying anything. Then she finally mentioned “oh sorry we're out of the wine you ordered, so we're serving this one.” At the same high price!!!! Like really????? Didn't even ask us if it was a good substitute which it wasn't. Our dinner came out before our soup and salad, and told the waitress, she just stared at us... it was just a hot mess and so disappointing we just left.. didn't eat or drink anything but I still left a $20 on the table out of good gesture, like why? Right? I got nothing but grief on my husband's birthday ugh!!!!!! Won't go back for awhile hoping they improve and go back to the way they were.

We dined here last night. I had the gnocchi dish and my friend had the NY steak with the mash potatoes. Both dishes were delicious. The drinks were good and reasonably priced. The service was great! Also, there was live entertainment. I totally recommend.

It was Valentine's Day and it was crazy busy there. I thought they did a good job considering. We were in the back room and there were 4 tables and there was some confusion about order numbering so the kids bringing the food were always ending up at the wrong table. But the food was good and we like supporting our local businesses. Will definitely be going again but would love to see another one or two vegetarian options. Bring back the Impossible Burger!

We ordered two fish main course both dried out and I did not eat hardly any of it. The fondue dessert was a hot fudge style chocolate that should have been served on a hot fudge sundae was thick and terrible and the sides to go with the chocolate were poor cheap choices. Disappointed for a $69 per person dinner.

We were seated immediately by a very pleasant hostess. However, we then waited...and waited...and waited for a server to acknowledge us. Many walked by, and several even looked right at us. I could see servers at other tables, and they seemed quite friendly and professional. There were two parties seated AFTER us that had servers stop by, yet there we sat. Just when I was beginning to get a complex, thinking we had broken some unknown rule, a manager came and took our order. Whew! Sadly, everything didn't go perfectly after that. We never really had a server, just random managerial types occasionally checking in. I had to flag servers / bussers down if we needed anything. It was rather bizarre. Luckily, the food, for the most part, was TERRIFIC! The poke stack appetizer was better than poke we had in Hawaii! The lamb was flavorful and fall off the bone tender. Portions were quite large, which is rare these days. The accompanying vegetables were fresh, and well prepared. The mashed potatoes were really good, even though they were lukewarm. Sadly, my salmon was a bit dry, and had less than a teaspoon of the delicious chimchurri sauce smeared on top of it. I had to flag down a server to request more sauce - as nobody checked to see that our entrees were acceptable. (I would have ordered a second glass of wine, but, alas, there was no server to request it from.) Our plates were never cleared. I had to flag a manager to request the check. All in all, I would give this restaurant another try, since the food was really good. Since I could clearly see and hear other tables receiving EXCELLENT service, I feel that the poor service we experienced was an anomaly.

Went here for dinner after a day out wine tasting. Both of us had the NY Strip with mashed potatoes and veggies. The steaks were cooked perfectly as we ordered (rare and med rare) Waiter was funny and great customer service. The rest of the service was hit and miss with the manager standing around a lot instead of helping her customers. Ambiance was nice sitting the living/front room of the old hotel. Some restaurants have a large wine list from all over California, I appreciate that everything we saw was local. Local beer would have been good if not there for dinner but I saw a lot of standard domestic and bottled imports.

We love going to the Sutter Hotel Restaurant. Staff is welcoming, waitress efficient, food delicious and ambience enjoyable. We would highly recommend the restaurant for just a meal or even a special event...they aim to please!

Very nice atmosphere and spacious. Plenty of room between tables which made it very comfortable. The service was outstanding and the food was also. I liked that the head chef came out and asked us how our food was but was not too buggy. I would definitely recommend it to all my friends.

We had an amazing lunch at Hotel Sutter - our server Andrew was awesome, super friendly and appeared at our table just when we needed him, every time! Salmon burger was to die for and great cocktails.

Date night and we chose Hotel sutter. Aaron was our food server an he was Fantastic! Food was very good, and the place was busy, but not too busy. Aaron was running around covering all the tables. He was the best part of the experience.

We celebrated my husbands birthday! First time dining here and we had a great time! We brought friends from out of town and they loved the area. Our waiter Aaron was funny, attentative and kept making sure we had plenty of water and drinks. Loved his personality as well. All of the staff was friendly and accommodating. Food was delicious but the burgers were undercooked even though our party asked for medium well, but still delicious. it did take awhile to get our food though. Overall great night and we will be back during the summer months.

We LOVE going to Sutter Creek, even though we live in the Mother Lode, as well. The town exudes charm, has wonderful retail stores, AND the Sutter Hotel, an historic building. We go there several times a year, and always chose to eat lunch at their restaurant. The dining room opens to the street in summer. The service is wonderful, and food very nice.

We have eaten here before and the food was good but nothing to rave about. This time three of us had chicken cacciatore special and it was all excellent. The other had lamb shank and again excellent! This was such a dramatic improvement that we are wondering if there is a new chef since our last visit about a year ago. Whatever the case, we WILL go back!!!
