No frills, no bs. Comfy and welcoming with hearty food to warm the soul. This is your next stop for brekky or lunch. Hangover sammies will leave you content and tender in the inside craving more.

Stopped in Tahoe City real quick to hangout and we found Duff's Diner. So so so good!!! Service was great. Food was delicious. I wish I still lived close by to visit more often but I will definitely stop by every time I'm around 👌🏾.

I was passing through Tahoe City and needed to work from my computer. They got me plugged in, connected to their WIFI, and served me a great breakfast burrito and coffee! Place was clean and service was fantastic. I highly recommend!

Best breakfast of our trip. Husband and I both got the hangover sandwich and they were perfection. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town.

Hard to make it in Tahoe I get it, breakfast was ok , pancakes slightly under cooked and hash browns and links highly processed food and just ok. Need a better coffee situation and place needs a good cleaning. Service was good but for the price not quite up to par.

Messy chicken and waffles I’ve ever had!! Cool little joint right by the water, everything is from scratch not too greasy pancakes are fluffy and waffle was crispy but still soft in the middle. Chicken and waffles. Do it.

I had the breakfast burrito. It was a soggy mash of bean juice and sliced cheese. Looked like something a 6 year old kid would put together in a challenge to use canned foods exclusively. They forgot the meat in my burrito, which is a perfectly reasonable mistake but when I asked for them to fix it the cook was extremely irritated and rude about it rolling his eyes and shaking his head at me condescendingly as he served me the replacement. The front of end service was perfectly nice and it is a nice place in general otherwise but my food was absolute garbage for a 16 dollar burrito.

Delicious Chimmi Churri steak tacos!! Highly recommend this place.... Two guys from the Bronx drove all the way across country to get to lake Tahoe. Duff's is the first place we stopped. With a wonderful lake view and quaint little tables outside, this is a great place to relax and eat.

I almost never do more then one review on place but here are two moths apart. Duff’s is a must try in Tahoe City!
Returning to Duff's for another culinary adventure proved to be a revelation! Today, I indulged in Pete's club sandwich, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of spectacular. ? The perfectly toasted bread enveloped layers of savory bacon and turkey, each bite a symphony of flavors.
But what truly elevated this sandwich to new heights were the unexpected delights: the beet dressing and the coleslaw with green Granny Smith apple slices. ? The beet dressing added a subtle, earthy sweetness that harmonized beautifully with the smoky flavors of the bacon and turkey. And the coleslaw, with its crisp cabbage and refreshing apple slices, provided a delightful crunch and a burst of tartness that balanced the richness of the sandwich impeccably.
Every bite was a journey of textures and tastes, a testament to the chef's skill and creativity. Duff's once again proved itself as a culinary gem in Tahoe City, where each dish is crafted with passion and attention to detail. Whether you're a local or a visitor, Pete's club sandwich is a must-try that will leave you craving more. ?
Reviewing Duff's Dinner in Tahoe City felt like a gustatory adventure through the heart of culinary bliss! ?️ From the moment I stepped in, the ambiance exuded warmth and nostalgia, a true homage to classic diner culture. The service? Impeccable! They not only honored my request for pickles on the side but did so with a smile that echoed genuine hospitality.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the Philly cheesesteak. ?? Oh, how do I even begin to describe this masterpiece? Gooey, cheesy, beefy perfection. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, meticulously prepared with just the right amount of condiments to elevate but not overpower. It was a transcendental experience, leaving me in a state of gastronomic euphoria.
But it wasn't just the food that left me in awe; it was the location too. Half a block away from the pristine shores of Lake Tahoe, surrounded by nature's majestic beauty, Duff's Dinner is a culinary oasis amidst the wilderness. ?️ Close to all the trails, it's not just a meal; it's an experience, a celebration of good food and the great outdoors.
In the words of immortal Anthony Bourdain, "Food is everything we are. It's an extension of nationalist feeling, ethnic feeling, your personal history, your province, your region, your tribe, your grandma. It's inseparable from those from the get-go." And Duff's Dinner embodies this sentiment flawlessly. ?
I will be adding to this review in the future I planted dine here often.

Small dinner with a decent sized menu. We got the chicken strips and beef tacos meals. Chicken strips came out a little darker than expected and as compared to some of the other pictures posted on here, but were tasty. Their ramoulade dippong sauce had a great flavor. The tacos were made by the sauce. Meat itself didn't pack a lot of flavor and was on the tough side. Service was great, and the crew was cranking out the orders when the line spiked.

As a small business owner myself, it’s hard for me to leave negative reviews because I understand the impact it can have. That being said, constructive criticism is imperative for growth. I was shocked that the lady working behind the counter was so cold! I walked in with my family and she didn’t bother to greet us at all!! She didn’t even look at or acknowledge us. After a couple of minutes of being ignored, I finally said “ Hi! How are you?….. And she said absolutely nothing in response! It was beyond awkward, I felt embarrassed and unwelcome! I was getting ready to just leave and take my business elsewhere, but due to the time crunch, I decided to stay. In my years of business, I’ve learned that having a good attitude, a friendly demeanor, and good customer service can make or break a business! No one will want to spend their money with your establishment if they don’t feel welcome! Greeting customers upon entry is the bare minimum! The only reason I decided not to leave a 1 star review is because the cook did show us kindness! He came out to make sure we were happy with our meals. The rest of the staff needs to take notes from the cook! Kudos to him! Also, the food was delicious! I hope the owner reads this and addresses the customer service issue! It would be a shame to have a few bad apples run an otherwise good business into the ground! I was there 6/12/24 around 11:30 am.

No phone number
No website
I’ve stopped here three times during business hours and I’ve never seen them open. Even on Memorial Day. They say they’re having technical difficulties, but they don’t have a website nor a phone number so I don’t know what technology they’re having difficulty with.
As someone who commutes past this place for work, it’s been a waste of my time to stop here just to see they are closed. I saw one review where the owner criticized a reviewer for a similar review, well the local community doesn’t deserve another flakey restaurant. A phone number is a must if you’re not going to abide by your business hours
Great food and delivered HOT! We really enjoyed the place. We ended up with the Hangover Sammi and Chix Basket. Both were delicious! The breading on the chicken basket was different (a little peppered and really tasty. Highly recommend!
