Calamari was waaaayy overdone, but lobster pasta was chock full of lobster! Great Caesar salad...
My shrimp dish was way overcooked. My spouse said he liked his halibut dish. Great views of the marina if you have a table that has a good view of the marina. We didn't, looked mostly at a wall and plant that obscured the view.
The food was inedible and outrageously overpriced. I will no be going back again ever. So disappointing Jake's used to be great.
Jakes on the Lake is a very active and comfortable restaurant. The vibe is energetic. Our Table was upstairs next to open doors that we asked for as the deck was closed because of a storm that just came up. There were a few parties going on and Jakes is pretty good with kids moving about the restaurant on their own. I had the Pork Chop which was good but not the best I have had here. My wife had the Halibut which she love. My daughter went with the the Clam Chowder which she says was great! All in all a pretty good evening.
We had a table for two on the deck with a stunning view, ordered the special with delicious shellfish and halibut in a flavorful broth, served with garlic toast. Wonderful!
Good food with perfect views of the harbor and lake.
Great dinner and service was excellent!!
The food menu changed we could not eat what we wanted to. But the location and atmosphere is unparalleled. The ambience and the quiet lake setting are perfect. Prices have gone up though, will not go again.
From start to finish, this restaurant offers a top-notch amazing experience. From the welcoming, warm Hostesses ro our server Alex, everything revolved around one goal, customer satisfaction... and they succeeded. We started our meal course with one of the best Ceviches we've ever had (the Salmon ceviche). Our server Alex provided great recommendations based on our preferences. The food was espectacular, beautiful, and delicious, with emaculate attention to presentation and blend of spices. The scenic background all around us and amazing June weather was more than what we ciukd of expected. Overall, 5 of 5
Great job Jake's
If you want lakefront dining, Jake's is a very solid choice. While the menu is limited and the prices reflect the million dollar view, the food is very good and the fries are PERFECT!

Beautiful view, excellent service good food!
Beautiful setting but the food was mediocre and one entree came out 15 minutes after the others. The server did nothing to make it right. Stick to burgers here.
I like the place, the atmosphere is nice. But the restaurant is a bit overpriced. The lobsters were fine, but the New York steak was overcooked. The server wasn’t 5 star, the waiter left me half way while I was ordering my cocktail.
We had a great time at Jakes! The view was just as amazing as the food. All of our entrees were delicious- I especially loved the halibut and the others loved their steak, pork chop and clam chowder. The hula dessert was huge- it could have fed our entire table of 4! Our server was great but unfortunately her name escapes me.
Ugh... such a beautiful venue and such a disappointment. Nice table on the deck overlooking the lake. Dad wanted a burger (which used to be on the main menu), which evidently now you could only get on the bar menu in the bar. 1st hospitality mishap, why not appease dad on Father's Day? The restaurant was empty, lots of open tables; but no... We went into the bar, no tables available. We're told we could order at the bar and they could deliver to picnic table outside. We were told plated, but no service. Ordered drinks at the bar - the most disengaged bartender ever. Walked away while we were ordering. Fail, hospitality mishap 2. Went out to the picnic tables, they were wobbly and dirty. Why bother? Mishap # 3. Got the food in take out containers, even though promised plated. Fail #4. And the food? Meh. Oh Jake's, remember when? These Tahoe locals won't be returning any time soon.
