What a fabulous gem in Tahoe City! I’m not a “foodie” at all, mostly don’t ever care what I eat, but this place blew me away. Lovely servers, wonderful service and over the top and flavorful food. Small but mighty and you’d be doing yourself a great disservice by not checking it out. Thanks for an amazing experience!

Spoon is an absolute gem tucked away in Lake Tahoe. It’s a cozy spot with an inviting atmosphere and even better people. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome—the hostess and chef (who I believe are married) treated us like family from the moment we walked in.

They even made a custom dish for our toddler that fit her appetite perfectly—something you rarely see, and it meant a lot to us. Every dish we ordered was on another level when it came to flavor and presentation. You can really tell there's heart behind everything they serve.

One of my favorite touches? You can grab a bottle of wine from across the street and bring it in to enjoy with your meal. They were totally cool with it and even suggested pairings. And to top it all off, they surprised us with a free plate of specially made calamari that was so good.

This place is special. Can’t wait to come back the next time we’re in town.

Good, high quality food & one of the few spots on the West Shore that'll do takeout. Get the million dollar slice if you've got a sweet tooth!

Excellent family vibes in a cozy converted A frame. Great for parties of 2 or 4 but need to plan in advance for 6 or more. Food tasted lovingly made, gourmet and original. I really enjoyed the lamb shank, flavorful sauce, and wheat berries. Bring your own bottle of wine from the liquor store across the street and they'll help open it for you. Small parking lot on site. Don't forget dessert!

Sweet people, amazing fine dining food. If ordering online make sure to read the menu on the website not the one google provides!

Absolutely phenomenal place with incredible people and food. This is a Tahoe must try, quite literally the best vibes and flavors.

Perfect for those looking for gluten free and vegetarian options. Carve out a night for appetizers, drinks, mains and a yummy dessert. Next time I am coming and saving more room for dessert!! However, flavors of the tofu dish WERE AMAZING. So truly every bite is worth it.

Vegetarian options: Tofu and lots of vegan appetizers

Dietary restrictions: Gluten free, vegan, vegetarian

Delicious food, small menu but everything has amazing flavor. Even the salad, which blew my mind! We got appetizers, a main course and even though we were full, we needed to try dessert. Great decision! ? we also had the friendliest server in all of California and one of the chefs (husband and wife team) came out to greet us and ask how everything was. Cute atmosphere. Highly recommend to all!

It's rare to find food that feels like you're eating passion, love, art, creativity, and the splendor of life all in one –– and Spoon has it! The chefs here clearly live their craft, as everything I've ever eaten here has been one of the best meals I've ever had. And I grew up around gourmet food, so I'm not easily impressed when it comes to food. Everything is always perfectly cooked with just the right flavors... and often with creative cuisine that you can't get elsewhere (or if you tried, it would be very underwhelming in comparison).

In addition to the amazing food, the atmosphere is lovely -- both indoors and outdoors, and the service is friendly, knowledgeable, and all-around great. And the owners/chefs seem like such wonderful people –– which is a big deal for me, as I prefer to only support businesses run by good people... and given how amazing the cuisine is, that makes it soooooo easy to do here!

Oh and if you're thinking to have the meatballs (which are the best ever!) you will be so happy to sub veggies instead of linguini - it has nothing to do with carbs and everything to do with amazing flavor!

My advice: Do not leave a trip to Tahoe without visiting Spoon!

Parking: They have a small parking lot and there is plenty of street parking.

I can’t speak for the food here unfortunately, however we were greeted with terrible rudeness while barely on property. We were waiting for our table at Firesign and walking around the area with our children. We’ve been regular visitors to the area since 1990 and discovered this cute restaurant that we wanted to try. They were closed so while I was looking up the menu, my 2 girls and husband were at the edge of their property walking around. They each picked up one pinecone, not realizing they were apparently the restaurant’s decoration, when a man from the restaurant came out and asked them to put the pinecone back (which they did immediately). He then looked at my husband and I and very rudely yelled that he doesn’t want to have to clean up my kids’ mess, basically asking us to leave the property, and then went inside and slammed the door. I am 100% okay with someone asking me kindly to put back pinecones or to be careful, however there was zero “mess” and the way we were spoken to was so unnecessary. Clearly whoever this man was does not like children, and I can’t tell if that is the vibe of this restaurant or not. Nevertheless we will not be dining here in the future.
