Excellent food, friendly vibe , gluten free options. Bring your own bottle of wine or beer or buy one across the road.

If you’re going to require a reservation you should really make it known that one is needed or at least say reservations are highly recommended as we drove 30 min only to be turned away because it wasn’t clear we needed one. We couldn’t even order take out.

We have been North Shore residents for almost thirty years. In our opinion, Zhee Zhee and JC consistently serve the freshest, finest quality meals on the lake. The atmosphere is intimate and charming, the service in impeccable, and Zhee Zhee is a hoot.

The pan seared fish was delicious! Crispy skin, very zesty and filling. Great little gem in Tahoe City. My husband and I really enjoyed the ambience.

Hands down the best restaurant in North Lake Tahoe. The owners are the most welcoming and everything is made from scratch with so much love. Service is always great, very casually and homie. The atmosphere, especially on the patio, can’t be beat. I HIGHLY recommend stopping in to Spoon for one of the best meals you will have at an extremely affordable price.

Fantastic little restaurant! I love the bistro feel of it being owned and operated by a family. Food is fantastic and portions are large. We had baba ganouch and herb oil ciabatta for appies, goddess salad, meatballs, chicken, and vegan bowl. Lots of food! Everything was very flavorful. My new favorite Tahoe restaurant!

We were fortunate to find this gem only a mile from our Airbnb. We called the day of, and were able to snag a table for two outdoors.

After being seated, we were advised that Spoon allows guests 90 minutes for their meal. This did not present any issues as we never felt any pressure.

We had a wonderful dining experience and the ambiance was superb. While only a block off of Highway 89, there was no outside noise to speak of.

The menu options were varied, with several specials of the day. While we are not gluten-free, there were several options for those who are. My wife had the fish of the day, King Salmon. This was simply prepared with no special sauces; it was delicious. I had the chicken legs (2 large legs) served on a marvelous green cilantro sauce. I had the soup of the moment, which was a split pea, while my wife had the beet salad; both were excellent. A blackberry bread pudding was a fine end to our meal.

The service was delightful, with our server able to answer all of our questions, guiding us along the way.

While Spoon doesn’t serve alcoholic beverages, our server did suggest we could acquire some beverages across the street if we so desired.

We look forward to returning to Spoon the next time we are in the Tahoe City vicinity.

My husband and I happened to discover this restaurant by chance, and we were pleasantly surprised by the amazing food and warm, inviting atmosphere. Every dish we tried that evening was absolutely delicious. We’re excited to say we’ll definitely be regulars at The Spoon Restaurant — so glad we found you, guys!

Sadly we had a disappointing 4th of July dinner at Spoon. The lighting did not create a cozy atmosphere, and the service and food were underwhelming. I had the pork chop which was overcooked. My spouse had the chicken legs which I opted not to try but she didn’t enjoy it. The dessert was also very underwhelming.

What a fabulous gem in Tahoe City! I’m not a “foodie” at all, mostly don’t ever care what I eat, but this place blew me away. Lovely servers, wonderful service and over the top and flavorful food. Small but mighty and you’d be doing yourself a great disservice by not checking it out. Thanks for an amazing experience!

Spoon is an absolute gem tucked away in Lake Tahoe. It’s a cozy spot with an inviting atmosphere and even better people. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome—the hostess and chef (who I believe are married) treated us like family from the moment we walked in.

They even made a custom dish for our toddler that fit her appetite perfectly—something you rarely see, and it meant a lot to us. Every dish we ordered was on another level when it came to flavor and presentation. You can really tell there's heart behind everything they serve.

One of my favorite touches? You can grab a bottle of wine from across the street and bring it in to enjoy with your meal. They were totally cool with it and even suggested pairings. And to top it all off, they surprised us with a free plate of specially made calamari that was so good.

This place is special. Can’t wait to come back the next time we’re in town.

Good, high quality food & one of the few spots on the West Shore that'll do takeout. Get the million dollar slice if you've got a sweet tooth!
