Hansen's Cakes

I'm so disgusted my sister was just at this location, the way the Susie whom was servicing spoke to her absolutely blew my mind. I wonder if Susie speaks to all customers with hostility or just the black ones. Susie even went as far as asking her for her pin to her card because customers aren't allowed to touch the machine. When she declined Susie went off on her. We will never order from this location again and I urge others to do so. Mind is blown

I called yesterday and they said they had a marble cake in stock. I went and picked it up. It cost me $40. The lady was very nice. The cake was awful. Looked amazing, but It was so completely dry, and tasted old. I used to love Hansens cakes, but if this is the way they taste, I will never go back and the place is set up like we were back in the lockdown during Covid. I ended up giving the cake away after just 2 pieces.

I didn’t even walk in, they had a sign that said door locked for safety, the lady inside looks spooked like she is scared, I saw chairs inside blocking certain areas, this place is pathetic

Cake is ok . But the customer service is awful !!! Also they are telling people they still have to wear a mask to pick up a cake it’s 2023 get over it ! Crazy behavior.

My experience at this Hansen's Cake was good. I first sent a email to bakery place since the venue we are having our wedding at came with a cake package and Hansen's Bakery was one of the vendors to choose from. It's also near where I live so I wouldn't have to drive to downtown LA. When I didn't hear back, I called the number and the lady who answer was able to answer all my questions. She also told me to go to their Facebook page to see what designs I like, their cake flavors tasting which is done with mini cupcakes and she also asked for my email so she can send me their flavor options. You'll have to pay upfront for the cupcake samples, so be ready to give your credit card info over the phone or you can always go to the store to pay first. I guess this is so they don't waste time making the cupcakes if you don't pay upfront. The receipt does say no refund, no changes or cancellation so be aware even with the pandemic we're in. When I went to the store today, it's basically street parking so brings quarters if you don't want to pay for the full hour. There was only 1 lady working the store so just be patience if she's on the phone. When she give me the box of cupcakes, she saw that they forgot to include buttermilk on the side so she give me 2 free cupcakes to try. She was very friendly with me the moment I walked into the store and when I walked out.

This is a very late review, I apologize for that but I had the GREATEST experience with Hansen's for my daughter's sweet 16 birthday last Oct 2020- during covid even!I went into the store in Tarzana, picked out the cake I wanted and the nicest woman (I don't remember her name) helped me make personalized changes that fit my needs for my daughter's very small party.The cake was perfect in every way and it tasted better than any cake we've eaten.My daughter's 17th birthday is rapidly approaching and of course I'm ordering from Hansen's again. I cannot tell you how delicious their cakes are.When I walked into their Tarzana store it smelled like sugar. It's delicious just standing there. Try it - you will not be disappointed I promise. I posted a photo of my daughter's sweet 16 birthday cake - her party was outside at the beach with only 4 friends (due to covid restrictions) so we ordered a smaller size cake. All the sea shell decorations were a sugary delight as well. Everything was edible.My mouth is watering remembering how yummy our cake was and I must order my daughter's next birthday cake.

Beyond RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL!!! I have ordered several cakes from Hansen’s over the years from Fairfax and last 5 yrs recently in Tarzana. There is only one blonde woman working there now, and I understand that one person working with orders and pick ups happening has to be stressful. Covid hasn’t helped either. But for this woman to take the stress of her day and talk to me with a “you”re annoying the &$@! out of me” tone....when I’m a repeat customer whose never been unsatisfied is shocking. Hansen’s has lost a frequent customer. She should be fired as she clearly cannot handle the stress of her situation without taking it out on good customers. I couldn’t come to terms with her on a cake design and she was barely helpful because she was so stressed. I decided to just get some small cupcakes on the way out ans she couldn’t even talk to be normally for just a small $6 order so I just left never to return. Victor Benes is the next stop...I expect way more professionalism there as well as getting quality cake and design.

After 27 years of patronizing Hansens Cakes this is my first disappointment. I ordered a "Lemon Cake" for February 25 2021. I got a YELLOW CAKE!!!! Im assuming someone forgot the LEMON extract, juice, zest, flavor Etc......I just know that my cake had NO LEMON!!! I was so excited to EAT SOME CAKE?. After that first bite I immediately said "What happened to the LEMON." My expectations were shattered like broken glass. This cake was shared between 5 people & no one tasted lemon..As stated earlier I have been buying these cakes for 27 years so I know how their LEMON CAKE should taste. Besides we got 6 LEMON cupcakes and they were perfect. Although disappointed I did not call to complain I felt that they wouldn't care anyway. Besides I didn't want to talk to the RUDE lady at the Fairfax location (Im sure the other employees know who Im talking about) . Hopefully my next order they can get RIGHT!!!!!
